Legend of Zelda live action movie casting revealed

A lot of people on Twitter are mad about Hunter Schafer not being cast as Zelda saying she was born to play the character, are these people just stupid? She can play Zelda any time she wants, Echos of Wisdom available now on Nintendo Switch*

*Free Switch 2 upgrade available on Nintendo Switch 2.

I hate how all these idiots (especially on X) always think that a visual resemblance automatically requires casting. Hunter Schafer looks like Zelda. Fantastic. Does that automatically mean the acting will be outstanding? Absolutely not.

It is such a stupid thing, who knows if she can fit the script or what the director is working on these morons think if they look the part that means she can play the part 😂

Shame should have used

Exactly.

Also, At the end of the day, you want to appeal to young girls as well, and a trans person isn't going to be wide enough, not when there is LGBTQ fatigue. Plus, Hunter looks old, don't care what anyone says.

Casting looks decent, but I'm not a die hard Zelda fan. Could we get prettier? Probably. But once in wardrobe it should be fine.

For me personally I will never watch this because I don't want live action version of Zelda series.

There are things animation just does it better, its big reason why I'm a huge fan of animations.

I think Miyamoto has opinion on the choice of actor and actress. Miyamoto is also very based. There was a nasty rumor before that a transgender will portray as Princess zelda. We have to be thankful it's not the male who will play as Zelda anymore, but a true biological woman. No woke agenda anymore on the live action movie version of one of the most beloved video game franchises. Thank God.

The actor who'll plays Ganondorf (at least if there'll be in his human version) should be huge and talented, but for sure need a heavy make-up, so I don't think is that much important if is black or white. Someone like Batista should be good.

Nintendo spares money even on the cast of their movies
The blueray is gonna be at 720p upscaled to 4k via fsr1.

P.s.

Hunter Schafer.

It was a fan cast more than a rumor.

She would've been great, sadly though, she is pushing 30, which makes her "too old".

Yeah that's the reason why they didn't chose him, the old age :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Pushing 30*

I don't think Hunter should get any flak, it's just a vocal subset of internet people thinking that social media fan casting has any influence on Nintendo's decisions. It was never in the cards.

The casting looks good. Not holding my breath about the movie actually turning out well, but we'll see.

Do you think by saying "she" twice and "her" once in a single sentence, you earn triple the good boy points?
This isn't reddit.

People are comparing picture of a man cosplaying Zelda with heavy makeup (to hide the fact thats it's a man) vs a natural woman beauty with minimal makeup.

Let's just see this man without the heavy disguise and unshaved...

Well? Has she been nude in anything?
We have the technology.

"Computer remove all her clothing."

AI has gone too far and I'm sure doing so is now illegal even if it's been done many times to celebrities even before AI got to how it is now.

Hunter is a HE

Really hope Sony Pictures is only funding/distribution and has no major involvement with production. They've been a garbage factory.

No he wouldn't, no one know how good he will play the role. In fact having him has Zelda would destroy any chance for the movie to find any success with majority of the world would shun it for having a man as Zelda and that's not counting even the potential ban.

Last thing Nintendo need as an activist attacking its fandom.

Depends on how much input Miyamoto has. He sure as fuck didn't want them to screw up another Mario movie and as a result it made a billion or so. It's very doubtful Zelda will reach such a number but we can only hope for good reviews instead.

No doubt he wanted young actors for potential sequels even if Link, Zelda, and Ganon usually get changed due to timelines and reincarnations or whatever. The series is perfect for live action recasting due to that reasoning.

I'm so glad they chose "unknown" people, nothing is more embarrassing and immersion breaking when the actor is too much movies and you can't see anymore the role he's/she's playing.

Looking at you "The Rock"
