I get intense pain from holding simple things like a fork or a pen after a short period of time

This can't be right right?

Im 25 years old. Whenever I hold something small in my hands after minutes i get intense pain in my fingers, hand, arm and even up to neck.

Its making me crazy because im becoming a Radioly technician and can't even hold the ultrasound probes in my hand for longer than a few minutes. Even holding my phone right now hurts

Its only in my right hand. Could this bs coming from mouse and kb gaming?

Definitely can be. It’s likely your ulnar nerve is feeling the repetitive motion and strain now. I used to feel it bad in both hands as early as age 19 or 20 from hardcore gaming. Xbox360 controller, massive playtime with the fellas playing Gears of War 2 online multiplayer, and a bunch of NBA 2K lolll

I used to get bumps on my hand like a little rash. I used to be in pain from having my hands resting for so long in my lap, the repetitive movements using joysticks and slamming buttons all night, the vibration played their part in the agitation of the nerves and smaller muscles. Plus, it’s a huge disadvantage sitting, while not moving for multiple hours and not doing wrist circles at the very least every couple hours to keep blood flow somewhat decent. All in all, gaming can wreak havoc on your nerves if you are competitive and inactive most of the day, potentially

I can’t even do that fake out move in SSBU (going left and right extremely fast) anymore because it destroys my tendons and wreaks havoc on my nerves

Try putting your hands over your eyes exactly like as the guy at 16 seconds does in this vid. If it alleviates pain, it’s likely you need to take a break more often during gaming

Ulnar nerve pain sucks. Gaming can cause it sometimes

You may want to start playing less games and when you do play, be sure to get some movement in by standing up, doing some wist circles or light massage, get blood flowing a bit in body. Sitting is no bueno my friend. Relaxing, but not good for our body

Start exercising. You obviously are unhealthy.

Could be carpal tunnel, could be related to disc issues in the neck, could be an impingement. It could be anything, you need to see a doctor at some point and get an MRI or CT scan.

It sounds relates to nerves and possibly spine/neck like others have said. Your hunch is that it’s coming from KB/mouse gaming, so I would trust that instinct and ease up on that big time for at least a week. You’re probably doing that a ton right now. I speak from experience ... months and months of physical therapy for chronic neck pain.

In the long term you want to work on developing good posture habits, including being conscious of ergonomics while working and playing. And learn how to stretch.

Keyboards tend to do a number on your digits, at my old job in customer service with some bookkeeping typing speed was paramount in getting the job done

Sometimes my hands do this when I over work them (I've sprained, broken fingers and dislocated a few things in my time to aggravate it), definitely try taking a rest for a bit to alleviate the pain. It could be tendonitis or a menagerie of other things so definitely get it checked out

My Mom has this same issue all the time from typing at work for 20 plus years and spraying bottles like crazy, but she also has arthritis
