Yes this might switch to a Star Wars post, but I hate CGI sets in movies and CGI characters...

I hate the fact that when human characters walk around a CGI set, their feet never look to be walking on solid ground.

Yes, in Star Wars I-III with so many sets made to be CGI it looks fake. It is really an eye-sore for me. It is almost an annoyance on my senses.

The only CGI that really looks good are ship fly-by's of planets. Planets made in CGI look incredible... but as soon as they put hundreds of ships on the screen it is fake again.

How about R2D2 as a full CGI character, the size in off in some scenes... when Obi-Wan is surrounded by robots and General Grevious, it is such a bad character representation of Obi-Wan...

I feel Yoda looked so much better walking on the real ship at the end, it made Yoda more life-like...

But when humans walk in a CGI world in makes them whole scene fake...

I like the look of Sin City, but I have not seen the movie yet! It is meant to look like a comic, correct?

Also Sky Captain looks better with all CGI sets because they gave it that grainy, retro movie film look...

Look how beautiful Star Wars is when they use real sets, when they go to CGI sets it is like watching a poor video game cut-scene.

There actually weren't that many ALL CGI sets in Episode III. Most of them had a floor at the very least.

CGI sets are here to stay. The costs and hazards of filming these epics "on location" are pretty astronomical (Unless you film everything in New Zealand like Jackson did).

Like someone else said .. when CGI is done right, it is better than anything you have ever seen before (Minas Tirith is awe-inspiring).

To be fair i think the majority of shots done on minas tirith were of a minature, but im sure there were others that were completely CG. Pellenor feilds was, for example.
