I hate my job but don't know what to do

So I'm still working at my first part-time job for over 4 years and I want to move on but my biggest issue is school. I don't mind the job some days but I feel they don't always respect me or when I have discussions they just avoid things. Now my job is flexible so I can work when I can because of placement and assignments. I have been looking but once again it's hard to find a job this flexible. I don't mind the people but I feel I want to move on just having the issue of finding where to go or applying to flexible places.

It sounds like you know what to do. Keep looking for a new one and make the move when you find something else that you can make work.

I just did this a few months ago. I was working for a cable provider, made over $60k last year. But I hated the work, the job, and everything to do with it. I practically made my own schedule, it was a cake job. But I hated it, and wanted to go to school for Computer Science. I left in early August, went to Germany, and came back for school. Apparently my previous employer wanted me to leave, because I had an attitude problem (I asked why certain things were asked to be done because they seemed, and were, frivolous and time consuming that could be used on more pressing issues. How dare I.), so it's a good thing I did leave.

OP, leave. I don't regret it for a second, and I wouldn't go back for double the money.

I just hate the thought of not having an income while in school that's my biggest worry. I want to quit but it's holding me back.

You can get a job while going to school friend, it's just not going to be fun. It should be well worth it though if you get into the field you want to get into in the end.

My opinion will probably differ from most here, but OP, you're saying you are in school and have a job that is flexible. Many, many college students struggle stumbling upon similar circumstances.

If you can, bear with it until school ends. No harm in applying elsewhere in the meantime, but don't take what you have for granted is all I'm saying. It'll be worth it in the end.

Wait, OP are you currently in school and have a part time job? If so then stick with it. I thought you were saying you hated your current job and wanted to go back to school.
