I HATE R.C. Pro-AM!!

I thought I used to like this game. I fired it up today and after five minutes of play, I was like "Cool. I remember this.". Then ten minutes later after the appearance of the first oil slick, I was like "I remember this. I hate this shit!" and promptly stopped playing.

The controls are screwed making you do thumb-busting impossible turns. What's even worse is the fact you have to grab ALL the powerups on the track or your car will become outclassed very quickly making it near impossible to win. So you have to make perfect turns using suckie controls, try to memorize the position of powerups on your next lap, AND try to avoid all the track hazards. Not FUN!

The guy(s) who designed this game probably like to sit in their dark closet when they get home from work and slowly make tiny cuts on the back of their forearms with a razor while laughing.

Haha... I used to play the arcade version all the time. It was awesome. I can't imagine playing it with a stupid little controller..

You'll want to address your complaints to the one on the right there. He may indeed be doing as you say, but probably for entirely different reasons.

I agree completely. I busted it out because I remembered playing it endlessly when I was younger. All it did was piss me off. It was like a completely different game.

God, I hated that orange guy.

He cheats, that's why. I love it when he tries to boost ahead of the pack and you try and do whatever it takes to keep him from getting away.

Nope, sorry, can't agree with ya.

RC Pro-AM is still fun shit and just as great as it ever was.

Damn straight. I still play it from time to time. Anybody who likes the control scheme and style of this game should check out Cobra Triangle. It's basically RC Pro-Am with boats and missions.

Cobra Triangle also freakin rocks!

I <3 Rare

I remember my friends and I played this forever 5-6 years ago on a retro gaming craze and got to the 32nd level and won. We thought we had beat the game, but it just kept going, despite the box saying "32 levels of racing excitement". We still joke about it today. Game got hard in the later levels as you had to prevent one car from getting away by constantly shooting it. It made this little noise that was very ominous. :lol

That's the brown/orange guy. Seemingly for no reason he'll just crank up his remote-control nitrous or something and start lapping everyone. :lol I try to do whatever it takes to keep him from winning, even sabotaging my own chances if I have to. Hardly ever works, but I have a blast trying to anyways.

There was an arcade version? So that's why they made the orange guy like that. Instant Quarter +1 for the machine.

Get far enough in the game and all three of the other cars act like this. It's still possible to win, though.

The furthest I got was Track 70 or so. I have very little inclination to play the game now since I don't see much of a point in doing so once you fill the Trophy Room screen up, but I still like RC Pro AM just fine. What I should work on one of these days is playing RCProAM2 a bit more.
