I have not seen a Bond movie since Quantum of Solace

Watch Skyfall. It's far more fun, a little more fantastical and the action is both well-staged and coherently shot. The plot might not make much sense, but it's a Bond film: if you're looking for sensible plotting, you're barking up the wrong tree. If you're planning on seeing No Time To Die, you might want to sit through SPECTRE, but go in knowing it's rubbish.

Casino Royal is a great one, you should check it out again. Skyfall and Spectre are pretty good. I am actually looking forward to the one that is on hold right now ,"No time to Die".

I liked Royale but was disappointed because I thought it was more about casino games, but it really wasnt. I was a big texas holdem fan at the time.

I just cant stand Craig. When is his contract up as Bond?

A bond movie is not about card games, it is about Bond, spy stuff, and ladies. Vesper (Eva Green) is probably the best Bond girl of the modern era. She is brilliant in that movie.

You missed a master hacker villain that has a server farm made of exposed motherboards mounted to the wall and spraypainted grey\silver. He uses it to hack a building, causing it to blow up. NEAT

Even Die Hard 4 sounds better

I have not seen a Bond movie since Die Another Day, and I don't feel that I have missed anything... In fact my life has become better overall. I outgrew this Bond character ages ago. Enough is enough.

I had a few of them on tape when I was a kid, but I couldn’t tell you the plot of any of them past what I remember from Goldeneye on N64.

I watched the first Daniel Craig one, but it’s not so much that I don’t remember it, more that it’s an anti-memory that actually destroys memories of surrounding events like when, where, and why I watched it.

These movies get so much hype (well, media buzz) and I always think I should probably look into them, but I never do.

After all the hype over Skyfall, I started watching it and then Bond was driving a motorbike at full speed across rooftops within the first few minutes so I stopped watching it.

ew lol Brosnan is the worst bond easily.

if you don't like Daniel Craig then don't bother watching any more recent films. imo he's the 2nd best bond after Connery.

i'd rank them:

#1 Sean Connery
#2 Daniel Craig
#3 Roger Moore
#4 Timothy Dalton
#5 Pierce Brosnan

Niven + Lazenby don't count but they are still better than Pierce Brosnan.

Skyfall is drivel. The home alone segment is stupid as fuck. It's crazy just how utterly forgettable these films have been in the Craig era. Casino Royale is probably the best, the sack trauma scene being a weirdly memorable moment.

These movies have been completely supplanted by the Mission Impossible films. MI are such superior films it makes these bond films feel like a cbs tv series.

Skyfall doesn't make a lick of sense, but I enjoy it for the spectacle. It's a well crafted movie with a bonkers script.

Spectre is the definition of average. Painfully mediocre.

You haven't missed much.

The only reason this franchise is still around is brand recognition. In 15 years they've made 1 legitimately good movie (casino Royale), 1 decent movie (Skyfall) and 2 bottom of the barrel shit tier movies (Solace and spectre).

And to be honest most Brosnan movies were pretty fuck bad too.

Skyfall is the only decent Bond beyond QoS.

Spectar was ok, worth a watch i guess but your not missing much if you skip it

Spectre is okay, but skippable. Skyfall you should definitely watch. It's not better than Casino Royale (Casino Royale is in my top 3 all time most likely), but it's very good. QoS is easily the worst of the Craig films.

I think the problem with the latest Bond movies is that they took themselves too seriously. While I really enjoyed Casino Royal, I think subsequent films went a little too dark and gritty while moving away from some of the campyness that we came to accept from Moore/Dalton/Brosnan Bonds.

Bond died with Die Another Day, i liked Casino Royale but nothing about it felt remotely Bond, i hate Craig's take on Bond, there's no charm, humor or fun it's just all serious all the time, also making an unneeded origin story and making him obsess over 1 girl is.... Just wrong.

It's a shame it seems people no longer want characters to be cool for the sake of it, everything must BE connected and no film can be self contained any more.

I dont know about that but id certainly take it over Spectre. DAD is basically a modern day Moore film that totally leans into the silliness while Spectre is a Moore film with all the energy and fun completely stripped away.

I remember watching the opening segment of Spectre and thinking I'd probably never watch a bond movie for the rest of my life. RIP

Bond movies should be more like the Bourne movies or Mission Impossible 1 instead of trying to be like high class steven seagal movies IMO

"Parkour Stunts Intro > Hop on a train, meet your "wife" and travel to Monaco!" "Play literally for 20min film time against Le Chiffre, making him lose his money ...!" "Why should I, the almighty James Bond play for 20min against Le Chiffre, for what reasons?!" That whole part felt elongated ..
GoldenEye was dope, i liked Skyfall .. but tbh. i have forgotten about them. Spectre was stupid af, but they´re still better than the usual drama, romance garbage shoddywood produces nowdays ..

Why would you guys recommend Skyfall to someone who likes traditional campy Bond?

Skyfall is worth watching for sure.

Spectre was really quite a let down, but I did enjoy Bautista kicking ass. So it did have that going for it.

No time to Die trailer looked pretty legit.

I feel like they are switching gear and making it more like Mission Impossible movies.

Feels like Craig era Bond cares more about showing off a giant budget and looking pretty than doing what it started out with Casino Royale. Spectre was trash that almost made a billion dollars and had an awful song that won an Oscar, but it looked nice.

I’m more of a fan of Mission Impossible these days.

You didn't miss much. Quantum of Solace is the last good one. Skyfall is Nolan style retarded and Spectre is just straight up shit.

They had a really good direction in Quantum of Solace (and CS), it's actually a brilliant movie, but it was panned and misunderstood and cowardly producers switched to different trends, completely lost the way. Craig in last two films just looks like bored old guy with libido issues.

I didn't see any past Casino Royale tbh. He is a good Bond but there are just so many action movies these days.

I did end up watching all of the original Sean Connery Bond films. Those are must-see movies. Classic in so many ways.

I think the main problem people are having with the Craig films compared to the others is that the older ones are really just standalone movies that might have a reference to a prior movie. The Craig films are one large overarching story.

I saw each Craig movie upon release and liked them to varying levels. I recently binged them and actually improved the way I saw them, as the continuing story was easier to follow, as previously I didn’t remember little details years between seeing movies.

Skyfall is pretty campy despite looking like a Gucci commercial. I think Spectre has the Day Of The Dead opening scene, that's pretty good even though the rest of the film isn't.

I thought Casino Royale was pretty decent, but oh man, Quantum of Solace was so garbage that I lost completely interest in the series. And I never liked stoneface Craig.

So what did I miss?

I am more into campy and fun bond like Brosnan.

I really learned to appreciate Craig's 007 over time, I initially didn't like it at all, but in retrospect is just a different, way more action Bond and it does wonderful works in that regard, but I'll always consider Brosnan Bond to be the best 007 ever, and nothing will ever change my mind

Miss it so much, sigh
