Congrats!

I'll also switch employment in April. The new Company offered me 40% more, absolute no brainer decision for me. My current workplace absolutely refused to increase my wage. Even after i offered to go back to university part time to further my education for the job. I guess fuck you then. They were floored that i'm actually leaving.

All it took was navigating the new job market, and getting a firm offer from a new client

Everybody should be doing it right now.

.loyalty is for dogs qnd it's easy to look for a new job while you are employed.

Shoot for the moon, worse case they say no, and you continue to make what you did yesterday.

One of those offers you the big salary, and you will have decisions to make.

I negotiated with one company for 6 weeks before getting a great offer, and my current employer outbid it.

I skipped 10 years worth of raises. Without that other offer I would have gone by for a while.

If they don't like it, you have a new higher paying job to go to.
I am jealous, lots of headhunters write me on LinkedIn but I never get a real offer. So did you just tell them you got a better offer but want to stay?

One thing I learnt in life is hard work means nothing. I seen people work there asses off with 10 times less the salary. I seen people do nothing with a decent salary. I've seen people taking on work or giving out work and no one really pays attention. It's not about how hard you work, obviously that's a small factor you can't be lazy. But it's about making smart choices and investing as well as what information you have. Most people in my field of work just lie about their previous salary, lie about their previous experience etc. If the hard working people I know knew you can simply lie their lives would change.

I've lied about many things I'm a contractor. I've lied about how much work I can do a day so I can have a relaxing job and my contract last longer so the work never runs out. I could do my job in 3 hours easily but I pretent it's a challenging job to the managers. I've lied in my CV to get higher salaries when job hopping, I simply research the job needed, nowadays you have courses and internet to get you upto standard, it's all basic stuff just have to use terminology so you know what your talking about. I've worked with people doing the same job as me with the same quality and target expectations but they are on a much lower pay etc. Like everything in this world it's all a game a hustle, from jobs to, investing, to property market and etc. You need to know how to navigate and hustle in this world It's all about the information you know and not how hard you work.

I told them I had another offer that I was seriously considering taking and what the compensation was, and I would let them know once I decided.

I had a week from when the new employer offered me the position to decide if I wanted it and at the 11th hour they decoded to make a play.
