What exactly makes the 902 so much better?
Don't know if I'd say
so much better, but I think it wins out over a similarly priced CM Scout for a few quick reasons:
-More cable management options if you're creative
-Flexible interior
-Better airflow, even with the fan speed lowered
-8 vented PCI slots for anyone who wants greater flexibility in running multiple GPUs (including more placement options for a single card in order to avoid conflict with airflow or other components) + the additional slot can house a fan controller, cathodes, etc.
-Greater number of helpful accessories included, like a fan adapter and 2 cages that can be used in other builds, if not filled up in a 902 build
My primary PC has side-mounted HDDs and I prefer them that way. I don't prefer the reduced HDD cooling and airflow, though. I've done builds for people with front facing HDDs that I hid the cabling for without needed to resort to a Dremel.
The Storm Scout is a solid case. I just think the 902 edges it out.
Ah, ok. I see the Scout is actually $50 vs $65, instead of $60 vs $65.
