Shame on you!
But yeah, FM2 = A series processors, the whole chipset and socket is made for the fusion stuff.
That's what Socket 2011 is for.
please help.my ssd died, so my system won't boot. windows was on the ssd. and help?
Sandforce controller on that SSD?my ssd died, so my system won't boot. windows was on the ssd. and help?
Sandforce controller on that SSD?
You do know crucial uses a Marvell controller not sandforceAnd if so, get a Samsung next time. My crucial bricked on me when I tried firmware updating to fix 30 second IO access pauses. Sandforce is shit.

SSD does not show in bios, but when I switch cables, the HD shows. I'm screwed.Sandforce controller on that SSD?
Steps to take:
Does it show in BIOS?
Try it in a different socket/with different cable, does it show in BIOS?
Try a different drive does it show in BIOS?
Try ssd in another system
If doesn't show in BIOS then
Pray then
Cry or pay big money for data recovery

kingston ssdnow 128gb V
So let me ask you this, does it really matter if a CPU has a gpu integrated? I mean, some of the i3s I'm looking at have them on there. I still want a dedicated video card, but I don't want a cpu with an integrated one if it causes problems.
I was checking it out but it seems like it uses a Sandforce controller.
what is up with those things in particular?
Anyone know this? Can I just disable the integrated gpu and use the video card instead?
Yes you normally can do it in the bios or it should auto detect and use the dedicated card instead.
Alright cool thank you.
Had some firmware issues that caused some bricking, especially in OCZ drives but it does affect all sandforce controllers.
EDIT: That ssd is actually a Toshiba controller
yeeee almost done
what my build looks like currently (i still got some cleaning and migration to do) and my excuse the shitty camera
edit: ssd is hidden
Your build looks almost exactly like the one I built recently.. White R4 case, Gigabyte Windforce, Cooler Master 212, 2x additional Noctua Fans, Asus Z77 board..
so what's the dealio with the silent cat fan always at max speed on my cpu cooler? Its 3 cables instead of 4 like the stock one, wich I gather has something to do with controlling speed? but its not like its in a smart mode like speeding faster or slower depending on temperature, its always at 1600RPM, and I have all that Q-fan control stuff enabled on BIOS..
Its trying to control the fan through PWM there should be option to control the fan through voltage instead.
yep they are. cpu is 3570k and ram is samsung 30nm.
inside i go for performance and the outside can be nice and clean.
what's a stable setting for the ram? I currently have a total of 16gb
Define R4 window or windowless?
Is there really a difference in sound-dampening?
didnt see anything like that under monitoring, only the 2 or 3 same options for every fan (q-fan control enabled/disabled, fan profile). Messed with everything (profile to silent, to manual, etc) and no changes. P8P67-LE btw. What would an option like the one you describe be called like?
for reference the stock fan was 920-1000rpm at idle and 1500 on load. This is 1600 no matter what from the moment I turn it on
Totally windowless with heavy sound damping in the side panels. The vent holes are even filled with sound damping.
If you want to know a Define R4 inside out you could use 40 minutes and watch this in depth tour.
Geez, I love cases, I could oogle at them for hours haha.
Thanks, appreciate that. I am ordering...
I know, it's kinda relaxing just looking at all the features. A friend of mine got a Define R4 after watching that vid.
Looked into your MB and Looks like you can't. Sorry =(
You can still use a resistor to make it run slower or look to getting a PWM fan
I've heard the ASUS (RT-N12) and ASUS (RT-N16) work well when flashed with Tomato. It's what we use at work.Guys I'm in need of a new router, what's the best one for gaming? I'm not too savvy in that regard so please enlighten me.
The only thing that is required is a QoS feature.
Yes. TV's can't display true 120Hz content and there is not 120Hz content for them to display (It's all mostion interp or whatever).Quick question for those who know about screens. I think I'm about ready to join the 120Hz elite of ultra smooth gaming. Is there a difference between a 120Hz computer monitor and a 120Hz television?
Welcome backMy new 7870-rig just landed yesterday, it's been maybe ten years since I had a gaming PC. Tested it so far on Rift, seeing and playing with settings on "ultra" and 1600x1050 resolution is nothing short of a revelation. I'll take Metro 2033 out for spin later today and check the results

Note they don't have a super great reputation for reliability, but nothing seems to these days.
Use the new RAM included. Note that the new sticks are 1.5V and your older ones are 1.65V if you were planning to mix themOkay, so I'm pretty set to buy these components to make my new build:
CPU - http://www.microcenter.com/product/388577/Core_i5_3570K_34GHz_LGA_1155_Processor#
Motherboard - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157293
Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146061
I already have these components from my recent build:
GPU - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131374
RAM - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820211409 (I have 3x2GB sticks. The new motherboard I'm buying has a deal from Newegg for 2x4GB sticks of RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231416) for free, so unless advised otherwise, I'll just use the new memory)
Power Supply - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371044
SSD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820226236
HDD - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136469
I need to rebuild cause my previous motherboard is fried. Everything else works like a charm. But I want to know what I might need as far as cooling is concerned. Is there an FAQ or general guideline that builders go by? While I have no evidence for it, I fear that cooling might have been one reason my previous build failed. I will be gaming primarily, with a little bit of music production on the side.

Slightly OT: Anyone recommend what to do with unwanted AC3/Borderlands2 codes that come with the GTX 670? Are there any good swapping/trading sites for the codes?
Awesome.
I built mine just before the R4 came out, so I have the R3. I really like being able to remove the drive bays, that must be heaps better for airflow compared to the R3?
Stupid question time!
A) Is there a microatx tower that is under 13" tall that will also fit a good video card?
B) Is there any problem with running a PC on its side?
C) Why don't I see wireless ethernet cards on PC builds? Is all of this shit included on motherboards now? The world has gone crazy.

OMG I want both of those games! But I don't have anything to trade myself. There is a thread here that deals with trades and such.
