maharg said:You know, it may not entirely be caffeine withdrawal. When you stop drinking pop, you're also taking in a lot less sugar.
It's best to quit one at a time. Either drink diet pop to cut down on sugar, or drink lots of juices and non-caffeinated pop (root beer, cream soda, orange, sprite/7up) to cut down on caffeine, then cut down altogether.

I don't have a caffeine or sugar addiction. However, exercise addiction.. Now those are some good chemicals.

"pop" is just wrong.

Pop wins!
Ignatz Mouse said:It's a regional thing. Pop is Midwestern, Soda is East Coast. I don't know where California falls.
After 5 years in Michigan and 10 years in Chicago, my wife is firmy converted to "pop."
But both of us gave up drinking it.
Good luck, and one way to help give it up is to look for why you frink it (probably the rush) and find a better way to deal with that need.
I don't see how 'soda' is any less old-fashioned than 'pop' seeing as they are both derived from 'soda pop'.luxsol said:It's "soda" in California. If you say "pop" you're looked upon as being a redneck/backwards country hick. It's like people who say "y'all". It maybe correct, but it's still old fashioned.

We call tissue paper 'Kleenex'.
We call adhesive medical strips 'band-aids'.
