A long time ago, I was in Off Topic. My posts and I were working for the local meme threads. They were trying to buy the loyalty of Gaf Gold leaders by bribing them with precious gifs.

But their gifs were being stolen in forums north of Internet by boomers. So, we went looking for the original videos. But in six months, we never met anybody who knew the source. One day, I saw a mod posting a gif of a tangerine. The boomer had been posting them incorrectly.

Why steal them?

Well, because they thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like copypastas. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some boomers just want to watch the world look at unfunny Reddit jokes.

I react to post ironically. If something is terribly unfunny i'll react with a lol. If something is plain stupid, i'll react with a thoughtful. Not always, but just enough to keep people confused.
