First things first: this is how I began

I think I found something Rare related

If you Google search for 'Banjo Kazooie website', it lists these games

These games are on the official Rare website as well.

Now, I tried to look for 'Banjo Kazooie 3' and 'Banjo Threeie' etc., but I found nothing via Google Search.

Then I tried out a few legacy titles like Jet Force Gemini and so on. Those games are not listed on the website and didn't show up via Google search as well.

Now, look what happened

Battletoads shows up via Google search, but isn't listed in their games section - which is why I assume that their meta tags were caught by Google but the website ain't live yet

Now, the dude from Gematsu tweeted me this

It is from the 23rd May 2015, very recently.

I thought this might be an error, but then used Cache View and looked up a few other potential titles, and none of them showed up - Battletoads did. So Battletoads is the only one that is embedded into their meta tags somehow which leads me to the conclusion..

..that one of Rare's secret XBO projects is indeed Battletoads. I don't know if this will be the only one though.

Coincidence? Madness?

I would honestly be surprised at full Battletoads by Rare over a new full Banjo.

I am expecting them getting a smaller studio like Press Play to do a Battletoads instead, with Rare input.

I'm not a battletoads guy, so I'm hoping that Battletoads has been handed off to someone else and Rare are making something else. That said, I'm not much of a classic Rare fan, so maybe they are making a different sort of game. They are a different sort of studio now.

Not exactly a wild prediction, I think pricing it higher would be suicide and I doubt it'll be big enough in scope to warrant a retail release

When they want to do Perfect Dark they'll do it. It won't be another FPS multiplayer competitive thing, will be more like Splinter Cell with a focus on cool gadgets etc
