If demon contracts were a real thing, would you go for it?

Been watching Supernatural?

Devil contracts are also the source of the human characters‘ powers in the manga Chainsaw Man (which is set to release as an anime this coming month, I’m so hyped). It’s actually a cool system, generally the more powerful devils a character can make a contract with require a higher cost (and one can have a contract with multiple devils), but also the thing is multiple people can have contracts with the same devil.

For example (mild spoilers):

So one of the heroes has a contract that lets them do an instant death move requiring 4 hits on their opponent and it costs the user a bit of their life span. So not to be used lightly, but reassuring to know the heroes have such an OP move on their side, right? Well, until one of the antagonists later reveals they possess the exact same move…..

If you get to be immortal in exchange for your moral compass and not be subjected to an eternity of red hot pokers up your ass it might be at least interesting for someone with no family? Otherwise that’s the curse you get unlimited wealth and life but you’re alone forever.

You meet new people all the time, though (until a meteor gets em)

No, never! Demons are cool but also quite nasty and hateful. Better not fooling around with them. That's what I learned from watching horror movies.

I think I'd sign up for immortality. Then they can't ever get me. 😎
What about when the stars die out and you have to fly around forever in space for all eternity?

I'm not sure I would dare live longer than a thousand years, if humans die out, you would just have to sit around doing nothing.

Anyone who would go for it would eventually sorrowfully regret their choice. As haxan7 haxan7 said, a demon represents unfathomable evil...and that is the absolute LAST thing you should put your trust in. :lollipop_downcast_sweat:

Hmmmmm. I don’t know. If it granted me a twelve inch winky and a mansion it would be very tempting. 🤔

There is nothing they can give me that is worth an eternity of damnation, and whoever think otherwise is a moron.

Even if you live the best 50 years ever, you have a literal eternity of torture in front of you, good luck with that.

Thing is, if you're willing to give your soul to a demon for something earthly, I think they ultimately had your soul to begin with.

I got my morality from Robocop and Warlock 2. Remember in Warlock 2 when the guy wishes for something and gets turned into a twisted art piece, and then you see him moaning and his tongue pulsating? Yeah bro.

Don't ever handshake with Julian Sands.

Probably not, these contracts are typically designed to benefit the one who issues them, so whatever is being offered to me isn't worth the risk in the long run.

You're talking about those Faustian contracts aren't you? Sign on the dotted line in blood and you'll get a wish. I would only do that shit if I was out of options, and even then I would take my time to avoid getting screwed by a clause.

Depends on the specifics. Is the "eternal" part of "eternal damnation" subject to negotiation? Can I pay with other peoples souls? Maybe Hell isn't so bad anymore, it's been quite some time..

Nah bro, I love my soul and it's not worth an eternity in hell
That being said who here would ever actuslly go to heaven if it were real anyways?

Nah, meeting a demon and being offered a deal would basically be confirmation of the existence of a soul and afterlife.
Nothing you can offer me in the 45-ish (if I'm lucky) years I have left would be worth an eternity of suffering or servitude to a demon or whatever they want in return.
