Try Costco. They had a ton of them and no one was giving them a second look. the bundle was 319.99 and it included a twisted metal and an NBA game.

you're not looking hard enough :P

Noooo... they're all sold out around here. Plus, it doesn't help that Target is the only place I can buy it from (I have $200+ in store credit I need to get rid of)

The Costco by my house had a shitload of PSPs too. Too bad about the NBA game, but if someone couldn't find it anywhere else, maybe they'd be able to exchange it for a different gamee at a different place.

I wonder if the stores that are forcing you to buy a crappy game will change shortly?

Just about any Wal-Mart, Target, Costco, and Best Buy should have ample PSP stock from what people have been reporting on the net, so I don't think it would be a huge problem.

My local EB even has a good amount remaining.

Well, to be fair, the only people who deserves to the blamed are the same people who crashed DS threads and built the PSP launch as if it is the second coming of christ.

The fact that people are having a little fun with their failed expectations shouldn't be a surprise to anyone, but given people would have been branded insane and probably perm banned just a week ago if they were to suggest exactly this scenario goes to show how wrong the GAF intelligensia are, and GAF cheerleaders of all stripes have gotten things wrong consistently.

It's funny - all three EBs are sold out, yet all of the stores around them that sell videogames have PSPs in stock. Local EBs really seem to have gotten the shaft when it comes to PSP allotment. Ridge Racers is sold out everwhere though. i told myself if Walmart had it i'd pick it up after work tlast night if they still had it. i guess it's financial karma.

i got a USED copy!!! :lol i can bet ANYTHING some idiot returned it for need for speed 2. "what? no neons? no NOS? no TUNING? wtf is this music? wheres my bubba sparxxx?" a sad sad world this is.

Well.

Either that or everybody preordered at EB fearing a shortage.

When I picked up my PSP at launch, then came home and saw people on the internet making fun of the so-called sluggish sales, I wondered what the hell they were talking about. After all, the EB Games I had went to was packed.

But after being out and about yesterday, I now know what they're talking about. Walmarts and Targets are stocked full of these things. Are they really selling that poorly? If so, it's a shame, because it's the best handheld gaming device ever produced.

I don't think EB and Gamestop got very many in initial shipments, just enough to cover pre-orders with one or two left over, I'd guess.

Please let me know where I can find one in westside LA. I've been looking for one for the past three days with no luck.

It's really strange too, Gamestop is selling few PSP accessories, even while it's essentially selling the PSP preorders very well.

Stop looking at Gamestop and EBGames. Go to Target and Walmart. Have a ton of em....

Nope. I'm in the surrounding LA region and all the Targets are sold out.

I think Ridge Racer has a new nitrous feature...

Yeah, I live in LA county too and I still can't find a PSP at Walmart or Target. I'm reading all this reports here on GAF about PSP sluggish sales, so why can't I find a PSP? I just wanna play Ridge Racer and Darkstalkers...

Not true. Sam Goody @ Kings Plaza had plenty. I picked mine up on Saturday.

I tried two circuit city, both sold out. Hven't tried Best Buy yet, but their online store is sold out (and so is amazon.com ), so I don't have much hope...

If you can't find a PSP, start looking for the Playstation Portable. No, we're not all crazy over Phenolsulfonphthalein, whose abbreviation in the medical community is "PSP".

If you can't find anything in NYC you're not looking that hard. I have never preorderd a game or system in my life.

In NYC, PSP is sold out. Ppl camping at CC and BB in union sq and 6th ave. As for games, ya, u never have to preorder any game.

Ridge Racer appears to have been ridiculously under-shipped (is that even a word?). My local EB only got 5 copies, and they got 50+ PSPs.

As of when? I ws in Union Square yesterday. I check both, Circuit City and EB games, and both stores had a few PSPs in stock. As a matter of fact, Circuit City had a small sign on their front door that said something to the tune of "Sony PSP in stock. Limited Quantities". After I left Union Square, I walked to St. Marks and checked out Multimedia 1.0 and Gamestop on 8th Street and Broadway. Over there it was the same story. Both stores had PSPs in stock. I was really tempted to buy an American PSP, but I already own the Japanese version, and was a little turned off by how easy they were to find. So I passed, at least for the time being.

For what it's worth, I was over-hearing a few people complain about the price. I know it would have been a loss for Sony to release the system any cheaper, but I still think that they should have released everything as-is, but for $199. The $250 pricetag is what may be hurting their sales. Is it worth the money? To hardcore gamers like myself, absolutely. However, to the people who aren't very technically inclined, it may be too rich for their blood, especially when you take into account that the $250 pricetag omits a game. With a game, you're talking $300+ easy. People paid $300 for the PS2 when it was released, but that's a home console, and this is a portable system. The last time anybody charged more than $200 for a portable was NEC with their PC Engine GT (AKA Turbo Express). I'm sure the sales with pick up drastically once the positive "word-of-mouth" kicks in, and when GTA is released.
