Considering that the PS3 can handle CF I/II and SD in addition to Memory Stick Duos, I think all bets are off.

There's one big difference between the two though.

Sony makes it's own multimedia cards, in different formats.

Nintendo doesn't.

Oh, I absolutely agree. It's a no-brainer for them to make it a standard SD port. It's just that Nintendo has a history of sometimes avoiding moves that.. y'know.. make sense.

With the exception of CF I/II 2 and 4GB microdrives, Sony only makes memory sticks.

Support has everything to do with why Sony has those inputs on the PS3.

The PS3 is a multimedia all-access gaming machine whereas Revolution is not.

Which goes back to our original point-of-debate:

Nintendo will have proprietary memory cards. End of story.

You're talking about the Gamecube, which never promised adapter-free SD support.

I'm guessing that the system will come with a 512MB card, rather than having it built in internally. It would be easier to just include the card with it, rather than build it in and take up slightly more space. But who knows.

I would honestly rather they used a hidden Flash Drive port, rather than USB. Isn't anyone else sick of all the damn types of memory out there? CF, SD, XD, MS (all three types), etc. USB needs to become a standard memory storage system on everything, from cameras to consoles.
