IGN's layout ripped off by TeamXbox?

Wondering who came up with it first is probably like the old chicken or the egg question, but anyone notice how TeamXbox's site design is *exactly* like IGN's with a few slight changes? I know if anybody ever ripped off designs I did, I'd be pissed. Too bad they aren't something you can copyright nowadays.

...on a side note, think TXB copied Bravo's "Queer Eye" logo?

(nothing against TXB... Serena is doable. :lol )

Are they really? Wow... I thought the days of people wasting money on foolish internet ventures was long gone. :)

Teamxbox is a very nice site with a lot of content for xbox owners. There might be some idiots on the forums there, but it's not as bad as most people here make it out to be.

This is true. They do get some good info on games and break some news stories earlier than other sites.

TeamXbox (and MSXbox.com) are several years old (since 2000 I think), and both predate the IGN buyout by quite a bit.

MSXbox.com, the original core of TeamXbox.com was brought up in February of 2000. Before Xbox was announced. It's actually the oldest xbox site there is, the first xbox site/fan site. They merged just prior to Xbox's launch... August 2001 iirc

hehe, it's nice to see a few of your remember the good 'ole days of msxbox.com. I remember starting that site up and I remember a few of you quite well (speevy & dopey).

That was a fun experience. It's cool to have seen the site (now TXB) grow so well over the years.

GameDaily had that layout first before IGN and Teamxbox ripped them off if I recall.

Teamxbox had the layout for like ... since the site (msxbox) was made.

so you're looking at 5 years...

why did you merge with TXB ?

there isn't a single xbox site to replace msxbox.com now :(

I couldn't really keep it going at the rate it was growing and with everything else going on, it was better to merge it up with another dedicated site than let it languish.

damn, that brings back some nice memories :)

I remember early on when we partnered with CNet for ads, right before the internet bust, things were booming so well that ad revenue was in the thousands each month. Then the bottom fell out and it became tough paying the bills. I had a feeling things would rebound eventually and they did, but I couldn't stick around to see it through.

I wasn't at all interested in Xbox at that time so I never knew this site. It still looks quite nice, especially for a 5 years old design.

That's one of the reasons we were #1 and MS treated us well for it :D
