Crap. Need some advice quick. aoi!

After thinking about my options I downgraded the camera to a Canon Powershot A520. With memory, the P200 was going to cost me near $400 and I couldn't afford it because I recently bit the bullet and paid off a credit card. The A520 with memory would only cost me $240.

But I found another camera that has simiar specs to the Sony P200 and it's much cheaper. The Konica Minolta DiMAGE X1. Any thoughts on this camera. Seems to be pretty new. Is that brand ok? Specs look ok? I'll be able to get it for a little more than $300.

I've seen some X1 pictures. It's fairly noisy but seems to capture a decent amount of detail.

I've just ordered a Fuji F10. It's the best camera in its class right now. Excellent resolution and very low noise. Unlike most of the point & shoots out now it doesn't ruin the pictures with excessive in-camera noise removal and it goes up to ISO 1600. Unfortunately it only takes XD cards.

Yet another post colored by alchol...

i wasn't familiar with the X1, so i searched for a review. Couldn't find one on the first page of google, but... ISO 50-200... F3.5-F3.8 (wtf?!)... anit-shake technology... 8 megapixels... This sounds like a camera that they sell to people who literally just want to hit a button and produce a picure. The 8MP sensor size and anti-shake technology are things that are easy sells to casual camera buyers. Again, Canon is a preferred brand with me, Konica Minolta is generally a third choice brand, and unfortunately this camera is a bit too new to have a wealth of reviews. i'd still recommend the A520 though. There's cameras from Canon/Nikon/Sony in the same price range at that size that are better worth your money.

Jesus....

I'm glad you posted. I went back to see if I could find a way to get the P200 cheaper at Dell.com and now I stacked some coupons and have it lower than $300. Even cheaper than the Konica I just posted about.
