I'm so behind on gaming that it's ridiculous

Wow. Final Fantasy I and II: Dawn of Souls? Zelda: The Minish Cap? Castlevania games for the PS2 and DS? Whaaaaaaaa? I just don't have the time or money to keep up with all of this stuff anymore. :( All I want right now is a copy of Winning Eleven 8 (PS2) to keep me busy for a while. I think that priorities simply change as you get older, and one that has dropped off for me has been gaming. Of course, time and money are major contributing factors to that as well. The passion is still there when I'm playing a really great game, but the nagging thought that I could be doing something "more productive" is also there. I'm only 23, dammit.

I hear yah as well. I still have a good number of games I need to put time into. Eventually a lull in games will come up this year and people like us can makeup our gaming time. Stay strong brethren!

I think people go through phases... 2002, 2003 I basically dropped gaming save a few hit titles here and there.... most of my game time consisted of 30 minute online matches of Warcraft 3. Then the spark came back last fall and I've been playing console games non-stop. One thing I did learn though is owning all 3 consoles isnt all it's cracked up to be. I will try to limit myself next gen but I'll probably break down. :(

I've had to be alot more picky when it comes to what games to play through (not enough time) - but if theres a game I want to try, I usually wait for the price to drop and grab it, with no intentions of playing through it. I usually play through one game at a time with a few "pick-up and play" games on the side (outrun2, mario tennis, etc.).

Handhelds are a totally different story since my commute is about an hour each way - my psp library will probably build up fairly quick.

I've been much more into handhelds over the past year or two. It's just a lot easier to fit in a bit of gaming here and there. The number of console games that I actually finish has dropped to an embarrassingly low number.

Good for you, play at your own pace. That's why you still enjoy games when you play even though it's fraction of what you used to play.

Screw the Jones's up the street! :D

Meh. I barely keep up with the gaming forum anymore, so I'm not aware of this monthly thread. :)

Sheit you think yoru behind, ive never played Battlefied vietnam, Zelda WW, Metroid Echo of souls, Doom 3, Half life 2, Neither Gta 3 or VC, Jak n dexter, None of the new RE *but i saw RE4 in person looks nice*, Non of the PS2 FF games *even though they looked like jpop videos*, GTA3, GR2, KOTOR, the list goes on. What have i been playing you say? Honestly I been playing alot of SC2 against tons of people which never gets tired if you find some good players, MMORPGS off and on damn you to hell DAOC you stole my LIFE, and WC3 on battle net so many custom maps theres always somethin new its a beautiful community...developer wise the peeps are assholes. So dont feel bad Alucard.

I STILL PLAY SOTN from time to time!

I honestly haven't played any of the games you mentioned either. Well, I've played through FFX, but that's about it from your list. Lately I've just been playing Fifa 2004 against friends. Then I've got Ico sitting around for the past half year, and NHL2k5 has been collecting dust because of a stupid franchise mode bug that I can't get over. But yeah...did some Halo 2 gaming over the weekend at a friend's house. That was pretty fun.

Writing about games works wonders for me. Although there's a shift: I used to be only interested in Castlevania, Metal Gear and RPG's.

I went into Best Buy on my lunch break today and couldn't believe the things that were released that went right by me. Sticking to my resolution to clean out my backlog is working wonders.

I have the same problem. But it is a good thing, IMO. That means I get the games for 30 or 20 bucks instead of 50. I got X-Men Legends for 30 bucks and pleased with it. The only games I buy new are mostly sports games.

Hahahah! That's nothing! Get married and have a kid or two. Watch your gaming time dwindle. It's ok though, my kid is cooler than any video game could dream of being.

Yeah, that happened to me over the weekend when I walked into EB. "Whoa. There's a new Contra game? What's this Street Fighter game? Mega Man what?? Suikoden IV? This RPG looks kind of cool..." Sooo out of the loop. Ah well.

You know what games I played during 2004?

Metroid: Zero Mission
Metroid Fusion
Paper Mario: Thousand-Year Door
Paper Mario 64
Halo 2 SP

I've given up on trying to play all the cool new games. I just buy what I know I'll play through.

If you think you are behind gaming, you ain't seen nothing yet. Nor anyone else on this board, I'm the mammoth here. :lol

I'm completely with you on that one.

Right now I'm basically interning so I have a lot of time this year to play games. Right now I'm racing through:

Shenmue 2
Halo
Halo 2
Jak 2
Jak 3
Metroid Prime Echoes
Half Life 2
Doom 3
World of Warcraft
Sly Cooper
LOTR: Return of the King
Pirates!
Rome: Total War
Call of Duty Expansion
Far Cry

Considering:
Tales of Symphonia
Baiten Kaitos

and others...

I've been so busy at school that I've never had time to play anything. Eventually I'm going to have to ditch gaming for the most part when I hopefully get married and start a family. No more games like WoW...

And I've got to comment on Shenmue's voice acting again. Wtf. Don't these studios have any freedom to make it more coherent?

"WUR PUTTING IT DOWN *unusually long pause* ....HERE..." (wtf kind of job is this anyway...hand carrying crates 20 feet :lol).

I own about 70 games that I've spent less than 20 minutes with. :(

Ok, you've got issues. Don't buy games to collect. Buy to play. My strategy: Look up games on gamerankings.com that get good score in genres that you like, then wait for price cuts. Best gaming possible comes out of that. I don't think there's 70 games this generation worth playing...my standards can be high tho.
