So I am going to be a Junior next year at the University of Washington, and I need to decide between many possible routes:
Political Science Undergrad -> Law School
Computer Science Undergrad -> Law School
Computer Science Undergrad -> Start Work
Political Scinece Undergrad -> Poli Sci Grad School
Double Major (Poli Sci + Comp Sci) -> Law School or Grad School or Work
Computer Science, I really don't enjoy at all, I get good grades, but I really can't compet with these really big super nerds. Computer Science is the only thing I could find a job with after school though, not political science and the like. I really like law and political science, but with my current GPA and if I get an average LSAT score, they still only accept 5% of applicants. That's why I would want to double major, so I have something to fall back on, but I would have to take an extra year of college and possibly bring my GPA down with so much course work. I only need 35 more credits in Poli Sci to get a degree, and 39 for Comp Sci, plus general electives and the language requirement, making it impossible to finish in two years (unless I take summer). Going comp sci undergrad to law school seems kind of pointless, as I could get a job right away with comp sci. I want to go into law, and eventually politics is my dream, but I don't know how much of a reality it is. So I am sitting here at these crossroads of feasiblity and nothing. I don't want to get out of school with a diploma and nothing else, and no job oppurtunities.
