Indie Bundle Thread - There's another one?

I'd play one of these online quizzes with gaming characters as silhouettes, identifying all of them on that site was fun (who's the one between Don't Starve guy and Gordon Freeman?)

I was thinking about image-linking them all, but it would be shitty for their host and for the forum layout.

A new bundle will be available this Monday.

Looks like it was just pushed back to Tuesday, because when I refreshed it changed from the 16th to this:

I hope this doesn't portend messiness when it finally goes live.

No DRM free alternatives. :( (I like Steam, but I don't want to clutter my library with all these keys just to try one of them).

X3 is an excellent space adventure/combat game.

The X series is slower than your Wing Commanders and Starlancers, but makes up for that with more depth and a whole layer of strategy and sim elements. They're huge games.

As an aside, it says on the steam store that X3 has achievements, but none are showing on the library page. Oh well.

Rocketbirds isn't a great game but its soundtrack is frigging amazing. Definitely download it, if nothing else.
The grid-based controls (think PoP or Flashback) were such a nice throwback to these types of games that I ended up enjoying it thoroughly. Also has co-op.

Yeah, Rocketbirds is a pretty underrated 2D action/adventure game, IMHO. It reminds me of Rolling Thunder.

Anybody know if Groupees (Capsule Computer Groupee) and/or Indie Gala (Weekly 2) will provide Steam keys for Cognition or will I have to register the game on my Desura account and get it from there?

Given that we only got parts 1 (or parts 1 and 2 depending on the bundle) and the steam release is all 4 parts (with the separate parts not available for purchase), I am not expecting keys to Cognition at all.

edit: or i guess we will lol... yeah the keys will just take a bit then.

The keys are coming. I picked up episodes 1 and 2 on IndieGameStand and keys were given today.

IndieGameStand people that bought Part 1 got a Steam key....

I am desperate for another platformer in that vein. Praise from you two sure doesn't hurt.

probably wouldn't have beaten the average if Rocketbirds weren't included.

Any reason to buy the X games now with a new one coming out?

If you've never tried any of them before, it's gotta be worth paying the dollar for the lower tier stuff. That includes Reunion, the first of the X3 titles which, whilst probably not the best of the series (X3: Terran Conflict gets my vote, though X2: The Threat was pretty awesome back in the day), will give you a pretty solid introduction to the X-Universe and will help you make an informed opinion about Rebirth when it arrives.

it's also worth noting that, a bit like the Elder Scrolls games, A) most of them do have a central storyline but you can play or ignore it as you see fit and B) there is a reasonable amount of continuity / lore that has developed as the games have evolved, but they also work perfectly well on a standalone basis.

Finally. if you have one lying around somewhere, a flight-stick is highly recommended.

Well, I probably won't be able to spend any significant amount with these games, maybe not until next year... I'm just wondering if it's better to wait for the new one. I do have a flight stick.

Omegalodom Greenlight bundle keys started showing up on Groupees page.

My Indie Gala key never showed up, but I registered Omegalodom on Desura and managed to get a Steam key from Desura.

There really should be a better way of telling people that their keys are available. :(

You'd think they'd be able to send a simple e-mail...

hmmm so the cognition keys only give you ep 1 eh (get another key for ep 2 as well with groupees) cool part is ep 1 drops the game to 50% off and owning both from the groupees bundle drops it to 75% off

So, the Indie Royale Golden Jubilee Bundle appears to be free to people who subscribe to their newsletter. I got a mail with two free keys. at least.

I don't know about the quality of the games though.

The only one of the games I had any interest in was Akainero, I don't think I got anything from their e-mail though. Are the games worth the purchase?
