Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

The $5000 drop that just happened is temporary, BTW.

Someone who got the boss tier requested a refund so they could upgrade to the $7500 tier.

And it's back, and then some!

Glad to see this seems to have shot up like 20k in the hours I had to step out :)

I also see the silhouette has been updated AND the person who was supposed to be next was clearly changed. I think its good you guys are aware of how people may react to the Incarnations and are putting the "more hype" ones near the front to potentially boost donations.

Also can I get an answer to this (in case you didn't see it):

Ok. It is a high quality sound file I can freely share/upload though right? A message trapped on my phone isn't nearly as enticing.

I'm sorry if its a stupid question :(

Boo-urns. You should've let everybody freak out for 5 minutes :P (Since it would only been 5 minutes)

1. I wanted the next one to be a different one for that purpose, but not far enough along on the art to do it.

2. We're just going to send you a WAV or MP3, and how you get it on your phone or whatever is up to you.

3. People flipped out on Skullheart and the IGG comments, because I was busy preempting the freakout here. :P

Enjoyed the PS4 prototype and just pitched in. It's great to see projects pushing the boundaries of 2D art and I can see a lot of potential in the gameplay. Good luck on the campaign, I hope the game happens!

Ravi, on a scale of 1 to Impossibru, how much of a pipe dream would it be to have Lenneth Valkyrie as a guest star?

Impossiburu x 1000.

I mean, even if they were open to it, I'm not sure I'd want to. And probably the ony way it'd even be an option is if we get the game funded and signed a Japanese distribution deal with Square.

And if I'm being completely honest, dealing with Japanese companies is usually a fucking horrific experience. ESPECIALLY when you get into IP and approval issues.

Dunno what's more fun, James threatening to jump back into the pit, or watching the chat lose its shit trying to tell him where the secret room is.

If this does get extended I will drop the 350 on it after Thanksgiving.

Probably gonna sell my copy of Battlefront (when it comes out) and upgrade to the $125 dollar tier, I'm good for games right now, and damn; I'm invested in this happening as much as I am in Overwatch.

48 hours left until the limit for the campaign extension. We've made crazy progress just in the past few hours though, only $79K missing. I think we got this!

Haha, fair enough. I was just curious if it'd be easier given how Valkyrie has been a tragically dead IP for years now.

The things I hear about how Japanese companies manage their IP confuse me. I've heard a lot of how notoriously difficult they are to work with, yet Japan is where all those crazy crossover games like Super Robot Wars come from.

Obviously I like creative people / creators, but at the same time I think Japan gives them far too much control.

For example, I really try to push Japanese devs to get on Steam. But the business people always seem to be happy to let the game's director make that decision as if it's a creative one, not a business one. And then you start getting really dumb excuses like "He prefers the PS4 controller."

The control Japanese devs want to extend covers more than the IP, but player behavior itself.

Anyway, because of the focus on the creators, we're probably have to get Tri-Ace's permission even if Square was OK with it. But are they going to be amenable to that if we're making something like their game, and they had to go to Spike Chunsoft to get that made? Probably not.

Hey, I think we can do this! And I'd be ecstatic if we got to $900k faster than expected.

But after everything we've been through on this campaign so far, just trying to manage expectations. My own, and everyone elses'.
Totally fair enough. Just feeling really optimistic!

I really do think that if we can pull this off, it'll be one for the history books.

And I hope we do so we can finally reveal some of those stretch goals for the slacker backer portion.

Worked really hard on one of those, in particular. And I think people may freak out a little if we ever get to reveal it.

That's an interesting prospective. If you could do it with just SE's permission, would you do it? Or you would respect TriAce considering Exist Archive.

Well, what I'm saying is that I kind of doubt that Square would override Tri-Ace just because Valkyrie Profile is dead. They are still working with them on Star Ocean, after all, and in Japanese business the relationships are kind of everything.

So I don't think there would be a scenario where Square is OK with it and we'd get to ask Tri-Ace. Square would probably ask Tri-Ace before replying to us.

I also kind of anticipate that Square would probably even not want a reminder out there that they abandoned the series, either.

They are very protective of this stuff, for real. I mean, we have good relationships with Vanillaware and Marvelous, and couldn't get any of their characters going, either.

if the scenario of an extension comes forth, are you guys gonna double down on media exposure?

Side question probably already asked: future NX port yes no?

Yeah, if we extend we're going to do our best to approach it as a relaunch. Working on getting some meetings with 505 going to plan that out and see what we can do, but all of this takes time and we don't really have any aces left up our sleeves.

But definitely more interviews, etc. will happen, at the very least.

And we'd definitely look into an NX port when more is known about the system. We don't have kits, and I doubt we're anywhere near the shortlist for them, and Nintendo makes you buy them.

So unless 505 can get us some info on it soon, we can't commit. And even then, we should probably wait to see how the public reacts to it, too.

Tenoch

Tenoch is the most famous Ōllamaliztli player in the city-state of Ixtapoala, renowned for hanging virtually motionless in the air to intercept the ulli ball, as well as the devastating speed and accuracy of his returns.

Ōllamaliztli matches are often used by politicians as symbolic proxies for political discussion, and a recent match against a neighboring city-state was rigged by corrupt officials. Every other player agreed to throw the game, except Tenoch, who single-handedly led his team to victory.

As conflict erupts in the region, Tenoch finds himself fearing for his life, and begins the arduous task of exposing the corruption and clearing his name.

You keep on surprising me! This might be the most diverse cast of any game, ever.
He reminded me of El Dorado, with the ball game and the armadillo lol

This game has got it's fingers in so many different, delicious narrative pies! Love it!

Hopefully the guys a tank, given how insanely dangerous that ball game used to be. Fantastic design.

Yeah, flinging a 9 lb. rubber ball at someone sounds... dangerous.

I used a Tennis ball when I played in my younger years. A missed return and the ball made contact with me, and a Tennis ball is only 2 ounces and leaves some pretty bad welts / bruises.

I can't imagine the kind of damage a 9 lb. one would do.
