You're supposed to make it relatable and insert a white guy in the lead role, not actually give those cultures characters.

I like the character design but using a ball reminds me too much of Wakka from FFX.

Ubisoft funds campaign, named changed to Invincible, all characters are white and every one of them is voiced by Troy Baker. Even the women.

I won't lie, I'd play that. Female characters with thick male voices are a rarity in this industry.
 
These last few character reveals have been really, really good. I really, really like Zahra, her aesthetic design is absolutely top notch, I wasn't expecting to be so blown away by it, but I truly am. I also like this new ball player!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought of FFX when I saw him. If he does Blitzball esque twists and flips for some of his serves, then that will make me smile.
 
Wow, 25k since I went to bed. Hopefully it keeps up the pace.

I'm afraid I won't be able to back this until after the deadline for the extension, though.

Tenoch is the most famous Ōllamaliztli player in the city-state of Ixtapoala, renowned for hanging virtually motionless in the air to intercept the ulli ball, as well as the devastating speed and accuracy of his returns.

Ōllamaliztli matches are often used by politicians as symbolic proxies for political discussion, and a recent match against a neighboring city-state was rigged by corrupt officials. Every other player agreed to throw the game, except Tenoch, who single-handedly led his team to victory.

As conflict erupts in the region, Tenoch finds himself fearing for his life, and begins the arduous task of exposing the corruption and clearing his name.

Nice.

There probably will be at least one I imagine. Even if it wasn't a reference in the end there are only so many ways to throw a ball.

Decided to play the prototype again on PS4 with the EU demo launching. I enjoyed it a lot more this time! I downloaded it onto my laptop last time and I found it a bit awkward to sometimes react to enemies and bosses attack and more specifically who they were targeting. But on the TV it was so much better and I really liked it and it worked pretty well. There was enough of a tell to see when enemies were attacking and to see who was being attacked, even the quick fire AoE hits from the boss. I went from having a tough time on the boss to actually finding it very easy.

And the music in general was awesome and could be appreciated so much better with speakers. While the traversal and general battle theme is good, the boss theme in particular is awesome. It'd be a crime not to get a full game with all this put together.

Also Ravidrath. I'm not sure which Valkyrie Profile game it was (Covenent of the Plume?), but one of them let you test your combos. In the menu when choosing which attacks to use and in which order you want them they gave you a dummy enemy where you try everything out and maybe even find an optimal way to keep an enemy juggled using all 4 party members for the extra crystals/orbs. Do you plan to incorporate something like that. What about a description for each move? This being a prototype (albeit very polished) I wouldn't expect anything that detailed, but in the full game would we get stuff describing certain moves as AoE, launchers, single targets, buff/debuff? Because while I tried every person's combos to find out how they worked, I found Razmi's down attack odd. I knew it did something, but now exactly what until I read it here. Would all of that be built upon in the full game?
 
Today might have had one of the best daily contributor numbers (823 contributors) of the campaign. I know it is at least the biggest since I started counting them on Day 27. The 9AM 24 hour style puts today at over $55k and we just officially passed Skullgirls' IGG numbers. We're definitely in uncharted waters now.

Ajna already feels enough like a LoK character. If that line works on her a little piece of me will die (unless she goes as a friend, eats her fill and leaves Tenoch with a bill and disappointment) lol.
 
It's really nice to wake up and see both a kickass new incarnation and $830k funding. We have a real shot of seeing this reach that nice $900k needed for that extension (which if offered, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TAKE IT).

The last time I looked at the campaign page it just broke the 50% mark, and now it's 56%.

Awesome, only 70k away from that 900k for that hopeful extension.

I read that like 20 times, where does it state that it's starring a white guy?

Her backstory as a pacifist is great. I really want to see how she interacts with all the warriors on the team. Will she try to change their ways and get them to think in terms of peace? Will she have her mind changed and see the need for violence in some cases?

Lots of cool interactions to be had.

Just played the prototype on PS4, the buttons icons make it easier to play and the 3D backgrounds look better for some reason. This game has to happen.

As much as I'd like the same, it's holiday time when they can be pushing Cod, Fallout and Battlefront. May have had a chance in summer but no way at his time

Yep. They'll refund your own pledge and charge the new one. A bit clunky, but I've done it twice already, lol.

The link to the indiegogo page in the first post doesn't work anymore. Is the campaign over now, or is Indiegogo just having problems?

I'm not sure what the problem is. I click that link on the first post, and the page loads for me no problem.

Campaign's got five days left at this point, and if the campaign reaches 900,000 by early Thursday morning, then the campaign will be granted a 20 day extension.
 
Okay, I was just paid last night and I'm going to donate after work. I'm also going to be asking some friends in other communities to donate as well. Before I do however, how likely is it that this game will get the 20 day extension once it hits 900K?

I think I'll have a lot more luck getting people in other communities to donate, if they think their donations will make an immediate difference.

Considering we're almost to $850k, I think $900k by tomorrow night is definitely happening

So hopefully Ravidrath and co. are talking with IGG about the extension

Okay, welp I've donated. Wasn't a huge donation mind you, but it's all I could afford at this moment. I'll up my donation next time I'm paid, assuming the campaign gets an extension. :)

Edit: aaaand I've sent out a plea for donations to other communities I frequent as well. Hopefully that helps. :)

1. Already have plans for training dummies. Probably will have one in each town, and definitely in your Inner Realm once you can access that.

2. Yeah, we need to do more to communicate what each move does. We were actually going to put some of that information in a Moves List, but reusing the Skullgirls movelist UI to do it wasn't going to work out well. But I think communicating something like AoE / Relative Strength / Recovery Time Speed / Bonus Effects would be good to do in the final game.
 
Are you going to automatically apply for the campaign extension? Would be weird (but also awesome?) if you got an extension but the game hit the funding goal before the original deadline.
 
That style is so damn rad.

It also reminds me that I haven't followed Hyper Light Drifter in a while and I should fix that.
