Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

Why wouldn't the devs take the extension? I could understand the fear of the funding dropping

But even if it dropped to around $20k a day for those 20 extra days, that's $400,000

I don't see the downside.

Also, I definitely had my doubts that this would get funded, but I'm esstatic to have been wrong. I don't want to count chickens before they hatch, but I'm almost positive this will reach it's goal via the extension.

I plan on downloading the PS4 demo and playing it this weekend. I'll probably back the game no matter what, because I <3 the Skullgirls team. You are all good people.

I do have one request, though, Ravidrath:
I think that all games should have some kind of spontaneous defensive action available. Skullgirls has pushblocking, Smash has DI, and most action games have dodging. Valkyrie Profile had nothing - you just had to watch your characters get hit.

VP2 has just defends.

the main reason to not take it would be because they couldn't if it didn't reach 900k in the next 30 hours.

that should happen, so they should be taking it.

this is all or nothing for them with their future riding on it. there is no way they don't take it if they can, and I can't imagine anyone will be pissy that they had 20 more days they could have waited as anyone who is backing this should know well enough that without it they likely wouldn't make it.

that isn't to say someone like Notch couldn't have swooped in and saved them last minute with a huge contribution, but hey that can still happen with the extension if it would have happened with out it :P

First, we're committed to extending now if we make the deadline. I'm just thinking out loud because we just don't really know what will happen from there.

And we don't get anything if we don't get the full $1.5M. So doesn't matter how it goes after the extension if we don't hit that number.

I figure we have the end of a project momentum going right now, if you get 20 more days levels will likely drop quite a bit for a while, but still give people who care more time to get more money, and towards the end of the extension numbers will pick back up quite a bit.

my current estimates have this project ending at about 1.2 mil without the extension, and leaving it at a decent chance for success with it. but I am by no means an expert, this is just guesses based of previous trends of projects though this one is goofy in it's own right given the drops in the middle where not as big as they should have been compared to the start, though that likely just goes to show your efforts to get this game out there have been working.
There is a reason you haven't heard of any other big projects after battletech on KS yet. No one is crazy enough to try building momentum in the middle of black Friday and the holiday shopping season. Luckily Indivisible will have another week or so post campaign before the Black Friday effect starts kicking in. If we're lucky this will be funded sooner rather than later.

I suppose, but people who really want this to succeed could easily cut back a little black friday spending.

besides the deals for black friday are now more black November and aren't super exciting from what I am seeing. though to be fair amazon has proved a couple of times deals don't actually have to be good to get people to buy them with hype like black friday lol.

I like the premise of this game. The demo was meh. GAF, should I contribute!?

if you think the promise will be worth it go for it.
if you think in a couple years when this is finished if you don't like it that you will cry yourself to sleep for weeks for wasting $30, then perhaps don't go for it.

we can't tell you what to do or how to spend your money, you have to decide on your own.

BACK THEM THEY NEED IT! :P

Keep in mind that just because we're starting to plan for it doesn't mean it'll happen.

I mean, I certainly think it looks likely right now, since we're 30 hours from the deadline with less than $30k to go. But we still need to hit that.

I think the big question we all have is... will all the momentum die after the extension, or will it keep up?

We're sort of in uncharted territory here, so no one really knows what to expect.

Seems like it would be better to hold off on the extension till the last day.

Seems like it would be better to hold off on the extension till the last day.

You mean hold off on announcing it or hold of on applying it? I'd imagine that the extra days tack on to the end of the campaign, so holding off on applying it would make no sense. As for holding off on "officially" announcing it, ignoring the fact that he's already said it's happening, I kinda think that flies in the face of the transparency they've shown so far with this campaign.

This has been suggested, and I don't think it's a good way to handle it after everyone has been working so hard to get us the extension.

Not only do I feel like it's not properly rewarding their efforts, I just imagine endless questioning and everything if we don't do it immediately.

I mean, people freaked out over a refund. And people demand the new Incarnation as soon as we hit a new milestone.

Come on this has to make it.... that prototype is just too good.

Restore my faith in you, crowd-funding gaming community!

Attack that Indiegogo with your monies!

Looks like this has really picked up, last I saw it wasn't looking like it was going to be able to get an extension.

Nice to see it's doing better, really hope it makes it.

man we are at 892k already. we are possibly going to hit 900k in the next few hours.
What? Haha.

Mariel does a ton of work for them still on the side.

But, yes, we have talked to them.

did you talk to humblehearts/noogy at all about Dust?

it would be great to see both great metroidvaniya games (dust and guacamelee) represented.

he is around on neogaf here, little surprised he hasn't said anything about this game.

Less a demo and more a proof-of-concept. I suspect the final game will bear only passing resemblance to the prototype. So just ask yourself: do you believe in the potential of the game based on what you played?

This has certainly been an atypical crowdfunding campaign. Given the recent surge, I think it's highly likely that they'll reach the goal if they do an extension.

yup.

you know what else is highly likely...
their ability to fit

into the game if you would allow it :P

just saying >.>;

Alyssa L’Salle could easily kick some ass lol.

note: I haven't a clue what they are doing with guest characters, just want some of my favorite developers included as well because it would be an awesome hodgepodge of awesomeness :P.

I can't wait to play CSH.

Finally got around to playing the demo. I was right, ATB was the kick in the pants it would take to make me like Valkyrie Profile. I like the aspect of managing the super meter, since you need it to block, but blocking properly is also a good source of meter itself. It felt like once I had the full party though, the only super I wanted to use was Razmi's healing. Everyone was already piling on the damage with their normal attacks, but that super was my only source of healing. Especially against the boss, it seemed way more useful to take a slow and steady approach and save the meter for that.

Hot damn, this momentum is crazy. I checked the page for a second and it jumped up like 400 bucks. It's just over $1200 under $1000 away from $900k in the time it took to type this post. :O

It's happening...!

Please no... this game deserves better.
Noogy's a great guy, Dust is a good game, and what he had to say about the work put into the creation and animation of a 2D character stood out as some of the most well put arguments for Lab Zero in a time when the board seemed absolutely incredulous at the costs of creating a Skullgirls character. Get this sort of thing outta here.

EDIT: 900k is 600 dollars away. :0

Played the prototype. Quite enjoyable. Where is the secret boss?

Will back this weekend when I can make an IGG account.

Constructive feedback:
Lots of blinking/flashing on the screen is disorienting.

Walls that keep going, but that prevent you from climbing, make me sad.

Not a fan of inputs swapping based on side. Wrecks muscle memory.

D-pad for blocking, and R/L for target swapping, would feel better. Otherwise I keep trying to attack when I can't.

What does emo tiger chick's down attack do?

Why do ATBs fill really slow sometimes?

Finish time was 39 min. Did James Chen really take 3 hours?

Dust's character designs don't hold a candle to any of the great ones Indivisible has shown. My opinion has nothing to do with any particular person or animation.

I just went in for $30 the other day after not knowing shit about this game. And now I've upped it to $60 in hopes of further funding. Let's make it happen!
