Indivisible: Valkyrie Profile/Metroid, Indiegogo, PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/XB1 -- funded!

The other thread mentioned a plush version of the new doggie character - was that a rumour or is it true?
He's so cute. :x

Just getting a chance to look at this thread again.

Regarding a big push, we don't have much in the way of big bombshells left. We're going to start releasing more blog posts about where we want to take the game, doing more interviews, etc.

And those planning to buy post-release? Will we buy able to buy physical. Because I feel like this game deserves that.

Indiegogo has a feature they call "InDemand," which is basically a built-in "slacker backer" system. We plan to use that and keep most of the goods available for a while.

I am terrible with social media, so forgive me if the answer is hidden somewhere out there, but is there somewhere you discuss the designs and direction for the characters? Like work-in-progress sketches and important design elements to each character?
Or is that information reserved for post-launch/never? :)

They're working on it.

Thank you!

That secret boss is a fucking nightmare.
Only if you let it be. It killed me seven times yesterday. I tried it again today (after spending only five minutes on the wall climbing which is getting easier) and I didn't even die once against it. It's all about cooldown, managing your meter, blocking right and having Ajna barehanded. Don't let your iddhi bars max out at three, heal constantly with partial iddhi bars (to have some left over for blocking and use attacks with quick cooldown (think Ajna's crouching attack) and try to always have Razmi at two action bars for emergency healing scenarios. When in doubt it's better to group block too.

The game gently nudges you in the right direction, but Indivisible Cat makes you play it's game in the end.

Well ain't that a bullshit spin on things, eh mate?

Nah, it wasn't. I was just talking to someone about indivisible and they thought the no X1 prototype was segregation and didn't understand the thought process why LZG would of done that. This is why I ask on NeoGAF because I would find a better answer here rather than a random website, no malice here lol.

They said since they already had the engine working on PS4 from Skullgirls they could get it up and running before the funding deadline. XBO would take longer and miss the funding period.

Just finished the Demo, and here's my $60. Really hope this project makes it. I had been eyeing it for a while and wasn't really sure if it was for me. The demo was all i needed to be convinced.

Glad you enjoyed it!

And we really do have so much more planned for the final game, in terms of content (obviously) and mechanics.

Lea from Curses N' Chaos!

Oh bitchin. She looks great.
I picked up CnC a few days ago thanks to this crossover and it's been well worth the price! Hard as balls, but really fun.

...any chance of a size comparison to Ajna like the others? I need to update my chart! D:

index.php

Those are some serious boots. Like I could imagine rocket thrusters attached to the bottom of them :P

I don't know much about the character, is she primarily a pugilist or someone who focuses of kicks?

Is there also a size comparison with Ajna coming up (as done with the other characters)

When I wasn't looking correctly I thought it was a zombie Astro Boy.

Ah I see I wasn't the only one who thought "rocker boots" :P

What kind of story will this have?
IndieGoGo said:
A good-natured tomboy with a rebellious streak, Ajna was raised by her father on the outskirts of their rural town. Her father raised her to be fair-minded and tough, and trained her in martial arts so that she might defend their home.
When their town is attacked by local warlords, Ajna discovers a mysterious power - the power to absorb certain individuals into her being. Furthermore, fusing with these “Incarnations” will not only allow her to summon them into battle, but also grant Ajna new weapons and abilities.
Determined to confront the warlords and find out more about these strange new abilities, Ajna sets out on a globe-spanning quest that will reveal her true nature and much more.

Alex Ahad during a Lore stream said:
Several years in the past a goddess of destruction, named Kala, landed on the planet. She began travelling across the land, consuming all in her path. Many tried to fight Kala, but were unable to stop her. Kala learns about Sumeru, a massive cosmic mountain at the centre of the world, and realises that if she takes over the mountain she will be able to destroy the entire planet.

Learning more about the nature of Kala, a hero known only as ‘the Traveller’ manages to stop her with the use of a special spell. Kala had managed to enter the base of Sumeru, but was not able to progress any further. Whether the spell truly worked or not is debatable, but the effects of Kala’s appearance on the world are undeniable.

Recently it seems that forces aligned with Kala are gaining strength. Is the seal beginning to weaken?

Combine those two and there's the bulk of the story. Obviously there'll be more to it than that as Ajna travels all over Loka picking up buddies. Alex went into depth about how the 4 major countries/regions are on the brink of total war for various reasons stemming from Kala's arrival, so there's plenty of stuff going on.

Not sure if it would fit the theme of the game but I kinda hope there is an incarnate based on some hi tech gizmo or some kind of ancient technology.

Part of the reason the regions are getting ready for war is that one region is advancing technologically far faster than they should be. When Kala arrived, she dragged some advanced tech with her from the last world she destroyed and it ended up somewhere that wasn't prepared for it.

There might be some fancy gizmos on the horizon yet ;D

I have a question which I don't think has been asked or answered yet - I played the prototype and enjoyed it but I'm not a huge RPG player, will this game have an easier difficulty level for people that enjoy the combat but want to make it through the story without hitting too many difficulty spikes?

Something like Persona 4's easy/story mode?

Appreciate I'm likely in a very small minority but would be good to know.

Played the prototype on PS4 last night and backed it with $60 this morning. I really hope this gets funded - I was really impressed and I'm glad that it's coming to PS4 without the stretch goal bait that's usually there with crowdfunded games.

Don't know about a story mode that skips battles but you apparently won't have to worry about leveling up as stats are dictated purely by equipment if I remember right.

Oh man, so happy to hear this game got the 20-day extension! :o

Hopefully when I get my next check with some extra overtime money, I'll try and bump up my pledge another $40 and I'll sit pretty at the $100 mark! :D

Best of luck to you, Lab Zero! I'm rooting for you all! ^_^

I wonder how many people who are interested in this game have played Valkyrie Profile, and vice versa. VP fans should be all over this, but I'm wondering where they are located :)

You know I'm here. I still haven't played this because I was so worried about it being funded and being disappointed at how much I KNOW I will love the game.

I have put in my cash, but still haven't played the prototype.

Kat Bailey's a big VP fan, yeah? Has she mentioned Indivisible on Axe of the Blood God? I saw that Parish wrote up the campaign for USGamer.

They're located in Japan. I don't know about the sequel, but VP1 sold over 700k in Japan but only about 70k copies outside. The PSP remake did less (168k Japan, 60k outside).

haha sounds like a wise choice. I kind of regret playing the prototype since I know now how big of an appeal the game will be.

That's true, but VP2 did 170K in Europe + 160K in NA which isn't half bad.

But maybe I'm just over-estimating the impact of Valkyrie Profile series and it's more of a very vocal fanbase

Hearing this kind of information makes it feel like my near mint copy of Valkyrie Profile PSX is all the more valuable.

Such an amazing game it is.

I'm glad that Indivisible will hopefully fulfill the gap of not having a VP sequel for many years. I wonder if VP3 Hrist will become a reality after tri-Ace is done with SO5.

If not, with the hopes that Indivisible meets the goal of $1.5 million, It will make an awesome alternative in the gap of a lack of VP3 happening. Even if VP3 does come out eventually, Indivisible would still be awesome anyways. (At least based on my limited experience with the prototype I've played)

@Lime & Robert: Which is a shame considering it's a darn good series.

It sure is. I love the original and probably think it's one of my favorite JRPGs.

Their new Exist Archive is basically their spiritual successor to VP with obvious nods to Hrist being the female supporting character (ugh)

Hrist in VP1:

It's too bad that the character art in Exist Archive is unappealing compared to the Yoshinari work and even worse are the in-game translation of the concept art.

I'm glad we have Indivisible :)

Will it be possible to play this game with my TE?

I want to double tap and p-link my way to victory.

Pretty sure for the prototype they just dragged and dropped the controller compatibility from Skullgirls so yes. At least if my shitty Mayflash worked in the prototype I'm pretty sure the TE will work fine. Playing it with a stick felt so right too.
