Uncharted was bundled with the PS3. Its first month sales were something terrible like 135k NPD.

Uncharted went on to sell 2.6 million units world wide according to Sony. I also don't think the Uncharted bundle sold much.

Out of the gate, Uncharted sold poorly, but it had great legs.

InFamous' sales are pretty good, and I think the small(ish) studio is pretty profitable already world wide....only 50 or so people work at sucker punch.

The game definitely deserves to sell better. I hope it reaches 500k in north america.

But it's interesting to note that InFamous is probably the highest selling Sucker Punch title (or it will be). Sly Cooper had poor sales compared to Ratchet and Clank / Jak and Daxter.

The highest first month NPD for any Ratchet game was around 200k (includes all PS2 Ratchets)...and InFamous nearly did those numbers in a few days of tracking.

Question for those who have beaten the game.

Is it worthwhile to do a lot of the side missions? I'm planning on just playing straight through without doing side missions because I really don't have time and I usually lose interest .. will i miss out on anything big?

Side missions are totally useless and extremely repetitive, save for a couple of ones. You'll be fine.

streetfight was the best side mission avoide those stupid find the dishes on the side of building things. AWFUL stuff there.

overall none of hte side missions compare to the awesomeness of the main story missions.

That streetfight side mission was so AWESOME.

So there's the city, lookin fairly good, people running around and driving. So I go up to the guy, enact the streetfight mission, and the guy says, "oh hey there's a turf war behind you, maybe you should take care of it eh?" and I turn around and DOZENS AND DOZENS OF GUYS ARE FIRING ROCKETS AND GUNS JUST A FEW DOZEN FEET BEHIND ME.

Absolute chaos. I literally went WHOA because I hadn't seen a battle of that scale in the game up to that point.

No they are not useless what are you talking about?

They eventually unlock trophies because you clear the islands. And that's about it. The karma ones are slightly better because they give you an additional power (which is honestly quite useless, I don't think I've ever used it).

And yes, they are repetitive. Disable spying stuff on buildings x4 or 5. Help cops x3 or 4. Stealthily track a reaper x2. Have a random dude takes photos of you x3. Destroy tar machine on water supply x3. Meh.

Yeah getting new spots to spawn, more karma moments, more shards, more exp, and more chances to do stunts are useless.

You don't need these missions to do stunts (and technically, doing 'em eventually gives you less chances as ennemies won't respawn, or barely, in cleared areas), max power cap can be achieved wayyyy before finding all the regular shards, side missions xp is crap, and respawn points are bugged anyway :p

Seriously, game is great, but side missions are crap (as I said, save for a couple ones like the satelite uplinks which are fun and useful).

disagree on karma side missions. The extra powers give another battle option, and more powers are always a good thing as long as they don't break the game :)

Well, I don't see the point of a power which takes quite a while to charge and is about as efficient (or even less) than throwing one or two nades, but that's just me :p

Probably the worst offender with the "OMG THEY HAZ PLACED SPYING DEVICES ON TEH BUILDING" :lol

See, what would have been cool would be to unlock a photo mode once you have completed all photo missions. THAT would give some sense to that annoying stuff, at least.

Just finished the game (as hero), so awesome! Completed all side missions, got all dead drops (after some cheating), upgraded all powers, except the last Gigawatt blades. But I have an ass ton of shards left, think I'm at 280. Also 4 stunts left :/

But yeah, awesome awesome game. One of the first in a loooong time where I'm actually contemplating playing thru it again as Infamous :D Really well done.

Is this map correct? I'm missing 1 shard and I know it's in the Historic District because I got 147 in Neon and 135 in Warren, supposedly there's 68 in the District but I only counted 66 on this map....
Probably not 100% correct, more like 99% :D

I never used the map, but it can be useful. When checking for shards do it block by block and cross it out on the map.

Yeah I got it, the map was wrong and missing 2 shards in the Historic District. I posted a link to the correct map. Thanks though

:D :D :D

FINALLY got the 'Right Back at ya' stunt.....holy crap, ive been trying forever!

My shockwave is already maxed, and im pretty close to beating the game so i didnt get in on the earlier 'hotspots'.... Got one stunt left to get...the one where you have to kill an airborne enemy with a headshot.

Any tips? lol

Oh, and once i beat the game, can i play on that save afterwards and go on my shard hunt?

Yes, after you beat the game you can go around all 3 islands and look for sharts, dead drops etc...

For the one stunt, well just blast them and shoot them when they're on the air, that's how I got it, you'll eventually get it, good luck.

Shockwave + Snipe or you can do it the hard way like I did, Shockwave and actually aim for head with regular lightningbolt.

it doesn't use up energy unlike grenades, you can still lightning blast while charging.. but the infamous one is a lot more useful. although i like the charge shot cuz it makes me feel like megaman and stuns all of them so they're convulsing in mid air :)

Yeah, it's the only good point. Except that by the time it has charged, you would have had way enough time to suck electricity from cars / lamps / whatever or just by zapping ennemies. I think Overall it's way too easy to recharge your powers in the game. They should have made random shortages and stuff.

The only missions I really thought was lame was the follow the courier missions. I hated those. 2nd worse is the surveillance ones no doubt.

I like the music though in the courier missions. :p

Huh, I thought it was one of the less boring. At least it was only done twice and a nice break from "blow shit up lolz" kind of missions.

The courier missions were alright, depending on approach. I'd just stay directly above the dude where possible, and that was pretty cool. It's like a regular follow the dude mission that has sucked in every game ever, only here it doesn't suck because you follow the dude while sliding back and forth on a electrical wire.

My beef is that there was no difficulty to it. It was just a 3 minute annoyance. I used the same approach as you going up top. I don't think they were the worst shit ever or anything. I just think its the weakest mission in was is probably my new favorite PS3 exclusive.

Didn't see the ending coming, that's for sure. Fun game, I'll spend some time with the post game and find the 21 shards I'm missing and complete the nine stunts I have left, but other than a few combat based challenges I got everything else done. Found all the dead drops, took over all of the territories and bought all of the good power ups. Definitely going to play through the game again on hard as a villain.

I'll be there for the sequel day one.

After finishing "Good Cole" and starting "Evil Cole" now...
I noticed that it might actually be (for me) overall more fun playing on the good side?

The problem is that my actions are very generic when I run into enemies as evil Cole.
** I light them up like Christmas trees and there's not much they can do about it.

When I was Good Cole I had to always worry about collateral damage (which was indeed annoying) in that I knew I had to always hold back. Now though... Evil side has no reason not to be repetitive. Its like I'm a war robot or something.

I can unload my full arsenal then hide someplace and recharge quickly... only to unleash another massive attack a minute later. It always works too.

This might be just me though. Maybe I simply don't enjoy mass destruction as much?

I enjoyed playing more as Good Cole as well.

I can't wait to not have to worry about collateral damage. It'll be nice just to thunder drop down into a fire fight and not have to worry about the shockwave and who it hits. Or to feel free to use cars and other explosives that much more freely.

I have no problem playing through a game as a villain when the choice is offered.

I enjoyed aspects of both playthroughs but I really loved being able to unleash all Cole's powers without worrying about collateral damage while playing as evil Cole. During my good playthrough I found myself sticking to the standard lightning attack unless I was fighting enemies on roofs. Most attacks cause too much splash damage to risk using on the streets if your trying to avoid killing any innocents.

Yea, this was also a gripe of mine. I never used Overload, it just didn't seem useful. I never used thunder drop except for the stunts. Pretty much stuck with Grenades (was nice not having to manually restrain every enemy), precision, and standard lightning. If there were no civilians, i would unload some lightning storms toward the end, but that was it.

If it weren't for those protect the generator and balloon missions at the end, i don't think the storm would've been used at all as Good Cole.

I used lightning storm to take out batches of those flying robot sentries - it's the only way to be sure. :D

I know it was massive overkill but they really annoy me. Was there a better (faster) method of dealing with them?

So whats you guys favorite missions?
They are all great but the Alden in Chains mission is just fantastic

The prison mission on the second Island
when Alden escapes
is just insane. Climbing up the huge structures (breathtaking and grand), fighting off the waves of enemies and bosses with unlimited electrified powers. INSANE. Haven't had that much carnage and intensity in a game in ages.

I'm enjoying EVIL COLE a lot. Finally just got him to be INFAMOUS and its neat how
He's now black and white with dirtish stripes.
.. I was so bent on getting him into infamous - and I swear the game has a cap on how notorious you can get... only mid warren did he turn. And I slew a lot of civilans. :D ha I just maxxed out my lighting beam and well, ooffgh at XP requirements. Trying to push through to the historic area so I can get more XP/kill

Loving the red lighting too.

I like the evil side mission more but I like the Good powers more. My favorite mission is the one where you
follow the reapers that lead you to a brawl on a rooftop full of trash baggers and the reapers are kicking ass alongside you.

Megahammer + Tag was a one hit kill on normal, but I used lightning storm on them too. Particularly when they
teleported to a corner of the building just below me. I used to lightning storm off the edge and get them. Same for regular enemies actually when they crowded the ground beneath me

Yeah I feel exactly the same way actually. Was very cool the way
the Reaper conduits teleport around, they seriously nailed that effect! They were pretty useless as allies on Hard but I didn't mind because they were a pleasure to watch. It wasn't until I had them as allies in a few of those evil side missions that I really got a chance to closely observe them teleporting, when I was fighting against them I was too busy rolling and throwing grenades to pay careful attention
:D
