inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

hey guyz

So I am thinking of renting this game sometime but I am wondering if there will be a patch soon to fix the little problems, that is if there is any of course.

Is there no way to get the Gigawatt Blades on the EU/UK copy? Pretty shitty they did this tbh, with a platform exclusive no less.
Err, use an EU/UK code?

I put in no patch and didn't exp. any bad bugs(or really any bugs at all).

Any tips for insult to injury stunt? I don't think I have precision yet do I? (Just learned how to grind rails)

Edit: Awesome, just got first dead drop trophy

Fuu only found 133 shards...

Enter melee range and stick a grenade on a guy (I think it's easier on Good Alignment) and then enter Precision and headshot.

Don't really need to do a headshot with precision. Just spam it after you get a grenade on him until he dies.

Got it. Next up, ride the lightening. Um.... wow.

Edit: F*&^^%! I got transferred to the next area. Let me guess I can't go back until I get to third island?

Edit: Was 7 shards short. Made sure to right it down for reference.

Nope actually you go back very very soon.

Uh, has anyone had any problems with their karma meter glitching out?

Mine was fine until I got to Champion and now the arrow indicator has been hanging around the middle of the center bracket, with the bright blue only a little over the Champion mark.

The arrow is only indicative of what section you're on. There's only three possible places for the arrow to be. The arrow does not follow the % of the section filled. The arrow does whatever the fuck it wants.

Ah.

Well that said, my karma level really hasn't been moving as much as it should be.

Either it's really slow or something's up.

Yeah, I've just noticed this on my 2nd playthrough - the karma-meter wasn't filling up at all and I was getting worried my game had glitched. After a couple of story missions it started filling up really quickly - don't worry about it, it'll start filling up soon enough!

fyi, if u got the infamous home costume preorder code from amazon.com, put it up on ebay because i sold mine for almost 30 bucks the other day

Playing on hard, and noticing that you get much less exp than on normal....

What are some good spots to farm exp on hard mode?

I'm playing on hard as per recommendation of the game after first mission. Since it auto switched me I assume I still get hard trophy right?

That i dont know....im on my evil playthrough now started right from the beginning on Hard. My first playthrough was on normal as a Hero.

Im sure someone will chime in with an answer to your question....since the game did it automatically, i would HOPE that they at least give you the trophy for it...

yes, you will get your trophy.

why do you feel the need to? it's really not necessary, not even on hard mode. no need to grind in this game

Want to make sure that i am able to get the XP i need to fully upgrade my evil powers by the end so i can get that trophy. Im at 66% of the trophies and am trying to platinum this.

As long as you stick to only those powers you need you shouldn't need to grind. If you go for the 'neutral' upgrades (Like the extra health, melee power for example) then you might need to grind a little. Any mission that requires you to kill lots of enemies (Ideally with an unlimited power source) can be farmed, just by continually failing and retrying.

I played through the same way (Good/normal first time, evil/hard second) and I didn't need to grind in the end, although it was close.

you won't need to. i had enough for all the powers and i only completed the Good side missions. The only neutral ability you need is the damage resistance, branches like melee/thunder drop are not worth the exp

when I returned to the game after beating it, i had just enough exp to buy my final upgrade. didn't have to do a single side mission afterwards.

Damn, spent half the weekend playing this, and this game is everything Crackdown on the 360 was. I'm sooooooo happy to have found another game that had this great sandboxy, building scaling super power feel.

God damn this is a good freaking game. I will be sad when it is over, when I've found every shard and having nothing else to do.

That was my next question....so i can kill a ton of bad guys then let the last guy kill me and i still keep my exp when i start the mission again?

Yeah, as long as you don't complete the mission. There are some tips in the thread already I think to use the mission in Historic District where you need to
manually juice up three generators, just after getting the final power
.

Another trick is just to beat the game on hard with a lot of side missions left over, get the hard completion trophy, then bring it down to easy when doing the side missions to rake in the XP.

YOU, my friend....are a genius. :lol

Has anyone tried this, and does it work?? My son suggested the same thing last night...

Yes, it works - I got my last weapon upgrade(s) that way. They're not taking your hard trophy away. ;-)
It might also be worth noting that First Sons>Dustmen>Reapers as far as earned experience per kill is concerned, but with the right mission with lots of enemies, it's not that much of a factor. If you find a mission you like for farming it doesn't really matter who your opponents are.

I'm keep thinking about the cool comic panel presentation inFamous had. I never would have thought I'd like it as much as I did. I hope many other games take note. Mirror's Edge could have been elevated to another level had they swapped their lame comic cutscenes with something like Sucker Punch did.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'll need it for my bad to the bones trophy.

For some reason, I just don't like playing as evil Cole. I love evil side missions though, the good side missions are a tad boring in comparison.

Got platinum yesterday - like many others in this thread, it was my first. Loved this game.

Two things I wish I'd realized much earlier: R3 to switch hands while aiming, and that you can recharge power sources after draining them.

For some reason this platinum inspired me to try to complete Uncharted, where I gave up halfway through the Crushing difficulty. It's really hard.

Folklore had them as well. Very different game but well worth playing. Trying to finish out the last few stunts for my inFamous platinum. Thank you Sucker Punch!
