I'd really like to know who it was at Sucker Punch that decided to throw in a single stealth side mission into the game.

"You know what this game needs? A poorly executed stealth mission with a timer and an enemy that is hyper-sensitive to your location!"

So I'm 10 seconds away from losing this guy and then I move up and he spots me?

FUCK YOU

I'll admit it wasn't the best executed stealth sequence, but I didn't have that much trouble with it...
Just stay on the roofs, bud!

Once I know where they end up going, I jst end up going there ahead of them and then you don't have to worry about losing them.

I am glad they added it in though. Makes the game only a little repetitive instead of really repetitive

Yea, i had to do it like 10 times, at least it had decent checkpoints. There's some good variety in the missions within Infamous. There's no denying that.

Wah? Those where fun as hell.. the only side mission I kinda didn't like where the ones where you have to destroy the surveillance equipment.

These missions are the easiest out of all of them once you get the trick.

To be able to see him, he just needs to be on the screen, use your camera controls while your guy is hidden out of sight and he will never spot you. I failed it twice before I realized this, and kept my guy hidden at all times while watching the guy with the 3rd person camera.

I just wanted to point out that I printed out Maps of the 3 Islands and Found the remaining 8 shards.:D

Now to finish the game on good.

I had an hour to kill before work so I went into Gamestop and played the inFAMOUS demo for the first time today...

HOLY FUCK THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!

I love the control scheme, the electricity components, all the different powers. Enemies present a great challenge, love the artwork and the sound design. Everything is thought out, wonderful presentation and the free-running component works so well. I can't remember the last time I was this wowed by an action title.

This is the open world game I've been waiting for. Officially saving up for a PS3.

I agree that the 1st 10 mins are atrocious. The animations are horrible and the production value looks no high than a spiderman/hulk game. Everything about the 1st 10 mins was just bootleg. I really didnt enjoy it at all (1st 10 mins that is). I actually quit and went back to playing KZ2 and then went back to it later.

I hate how a lot of stuff in this game looks very polished but then other things look jarringly bad. Some of the animations are horrible (the "climbing up the pole" animation is really bad). The in-game cutscenes are bad. Then you have animations like the gliding animation that looks really good. And the way he leans forward a little bit while on the train...to keep his balance...that's pretty awesome. The comic book style cutscenes are really good.

Its just a mixed bag type of game. (in terms of polish) Seems like it could have used a few more months and we would have gotten that locked 30 fps and had all the bootleg stuff ironed out.

Just to clarify, I'm talking about the animations in the 1st 10 mins....not overall!

W00t got my shards finally.

Just need to get my "all evil powers" trophy, but I saved over my completed hard evil run when trying to load it :(

Fortunately I had a backup on a memory stick from very shortly before the end, this is still going to be some griding though...

Easy way to upgrade all your evil powers relatively fast is to do this....

Change the difficulty to Easy, and do the 'Street Fight' side mission. You'll fight tons of enemies and since your on easy theyll drop more Exp. Get it so you kill all of them except maybe a couple enemies, then let them kill you. When you restart your at the beginning again and all your EXP from the last battle stays with you.

I was able to rack up over 7,000 EXP in about 30 minutes or so and then get my 'do all evil upgrades' trophy, and my platinum.

So I'v been playing through, spent about 6 hours on it on Canada Day, and although it's generally a great game the game seems to have two major recurrant issues:

1- Sometimes the lock-on jumping completely fails to lock on for no descernable reason and I end up bouncing off a pillar or edge of a platform that I should have grabbed.

2- the game has issues with linearity of missions: at the very beginning I went the wrong way and ended up suddenly dying in a roof collapse with no warning. Later on I was doing the water tower mission, and I ended up at the wrong one first- the pump is there, and it reacts to being hit, but doesn't actually be destroyed/overload. You have to do them in one particular order. Then, if you go to the real next one suddenly a bunch of enemies spawn on the roof that you were on no more than 30 seconds ago because it's the next one.

Some of the missions (such as the boats) give you any order, but sometimes it just locks you in to a specific order for no reason other than it not being the next objective.

Edit: Just remembered another issue: All of Cole's aimed attacks except the bolt use face buttons. The aiming is on the right stick. I only have one thumb on my right hand.

And - done. Just finished my 2nd playthrough, and received my first platinum trophy. Went through as Good first, then Evil on Hard. Thankfully, I slowed down my progress on my second playthrough, but it worked out well. I was able to follow all the suggetions on how to achieve the different stunts/trophies that were posted here.

I really hope someone from Sucker Punch is reading this thread, because I have to say, this game was just simply fun to play. I'm normally not a trophy guy, like I said above - this is my first platinum. But this game was just so much fun to fool around with that I enjoyed having an exscuse to pick up and go through the game a second time. Infamous has probably the best check point system I've *ever* encountered. The controls worked the way you wanted them too. The side missions were just varied enough that I looked forward to each one. The main story missions were perfectly paced. This is just one of those games that seems to get everything right.

Even the few bugs that popped up, (Cole floating through walls, aggressive 'sticking' to objects), it never hindered my overall enjoyment of this game. This game will stand as a go to example of how to make the core gameplay so much fun that not really much else matters. Its amazing that they were able to get such longevity out of the basic gameplay.

Simply fantastic.

Really looking forward to Infamous 2, and Sucker Punch has officially reached the status of must buy developer.

(As a side note, I enjoyed *playing* as Evil Cole, but I enjoyed the *story* more as Good Cole. Either way I was having fun.)

so can anyone give me tips on this game and trophy followups? should i do good first on easy then evil on hard? blast shard tips? anythin?

The bus mission on hard is all sorts of omfg. Any tips? I am going to bed, gotta work in 6 hours.

I believe I jumped off the bus and ran ahead (after the bridge), each time I saw some blips on the radar and took them out the old fashioned way.

I platinumed this last night...heres what i did.

Playthrough 1 was as a Hero on normal difficulty, and i collected all the dead drops, got all the shards, got all the specialty kill trophies, misc trophies (such as sucking 750 watts of power from city) and got all the stunts. This basically only left me beating the game on hard, and all the Evil related trophies.

Playthrough 2 was on hard difficulty and i got all the Evil trophies for decisions that i didnt do in playthrough 1. When i beat the game i still needed to get a couple of the evil upgrades (7,000 EXP points worth). So i changed the difficulty down to Easy (since you get more EXP), and tackled the
Street Fight
side mission which basically spawns enemies like crazy. With 1 or 2 enemies left, i killed myself, then just kept repeating until i had the necessary EXP. (only took about 45 min or so)....

The checkpoints are before the bridge, after the bridge, and the turn at the end of the street before the end, iirc, so keep that in mind.

During that street of hell, remember where the rocket guys are (there's one near the beginning, one comes up on the right around a corner, then one around the left, and then ne standing on the gas station, then there's one near the stuff you have to clear out, and one or two more for the rest of the street.

Completed my second (evil) playthrough. God damn 12K to do the final lightning upgrade. Think I'll just start a third play through on easy and race through the story missions and only upgrade the powers that need to be upgraded (besides the shield, upgrading that is a must)

Holy shit what an ending. And with that I sell my PS3 until the slim comes out.

Btw if you are interested in getting this game I am selling my copy for 37 shipped.

You really think so? I'm not sure I used the shield for more than a minute or two in my entire playthrough.

Argh, game just froze in the middle of the baloon mission (I hit the ladder of the balloon just as the shield was coming down while my own shield was up, and it froze immediately)

I think I saved before the mission.. Does saving during a mission let you pick up at mid-mission checkpoints?

I just thought I'd throw it out there that this game is absolutely fantastic, and every PS3 owner should give it a try. I know this is fairly LTTP, but I can't believe how much fun I'm having here.

Same thing happened to me, but at the LAST balloon. So frustrating. Had to start the mission from the beginning.

Future Shop (Best Buy equivalent in Canada) had inFAMOUS on for $29.99 this week, so, despite my misgivings about the demo I thought it was going to be a least trying at that price. As things go, the game is much better than the demo (the demo wasn't a good representation of the game, didn't ease me into it as well).

I just got to the warren, playing on hard/evil for the first time through and so far I haven't really felt much of a challenge yet. Compared to other games I've played through on the hardest available levels (Dead Space, Uncharted (Crushing), etc.) this is seeming like a cake walk so far.

Am I going to be eating those words soon?

The bus level is a bit of a challenge later on.

I loved those stealth missions. Felt a bit like batman following this guy in the shadows and watching him fromt the roofs. BTW there was a lot of stuff from sly cooper in this game (starting with the running animation) and those stealth missions were one of those things.

Holy shit at that ending. I did NOT see that coming. Beautiful ending boss battle. Loved the entire game!

Even with all it's glitches, and some graphical inconsistencies, what a great experience. Well done Sucker Punch. Thank you.

I also LOVED the platforming. The jumping and landing was abit sticky (guided by the computer), but still, I had fun with it.

Soon as your running low on energy just find some nub manning a cannon, stand in front and bam full energy and its GO TIME! :D

My first run I barely used it but it came in REAL handy in my hard playthrough, especially against Alden

So i just 100% neon and now i'm in the warren playing good/Hard. This game is pretty good.

But does anyone know if i will get the Hard trophy still if i started the game on Normal but after the first mission it automatically put me on hard?

You'll get the trophy as long as you stick to hard. Yes you will.

I'm missing three side missions in Warren, they just don't show up. I've finished the game on Good and the other two islands are on 100%...
Probably missions that you unlock after beating up some ennemies. You know, the kind of missions you have to find some hidden blast shards in a specific place. Just wak around in thee area, you should be attacked and once you've beaten the bad guys, check their body.

Finished my 2nd evil run through earlier tonight and I gotta say, the scripting/ending is still amazingly strong - so yes, I finished the game, the end game cinema plays out and I still sit there kind of in awe at how good the game is.Some people hate on the cole voice acting but I think he nailed it. very very emotive... and that with the comic cinematic, really pulled it all together. One of the best games I've played this gen... superhero hijinks of wonder

gotta say I thought the black red lighting once you activated the sphere was NEAT-O. The fact that Suckerpunch amped/changed the vfx of the lighting attack that late in the game is an added bonus.

what a wonderful game

:lol I'm sorry but no. I've played through it twice, love the game. But the stitled in-game cutscenes with horrific hamfisted dialogue and bad Gears knockoff voice-acting is the worst part of this game. (save for the ending and repetitive side missions). Zeke is the videogame equivalent of the roomate in Transformers 2. Unfunny, annoying and completely useless.

Okay, thanks! I'll do that while I'm searching for the discs.

Wasn't sure I'd like this game, but it's about all I've done this weekend, so... I guess I like it.

It's definitely a bit uneven, especially by Sucker Punch's standards - a lot of the animations are just terrible, the writing is occasionally cringe-worthy, Zeke is terrible, and the game's rhythm feels off... it's like they build buildings to a different set of metrics than the rest of the game.

But despite all that, I'm enjoying it quite a bit, and plan on doing an evil playthrough as well.

One question - how different are the two playthroughs?

I think it's just hard to tune a game to have a set rhythm when it's completely open-world and the player can literally go anywhere. Sucker Punch is a small studio (40+ staff) though, they're still small, I can't begin to imagine how hard it is for a small studio like them to do a HUGE open-world game in 3 years.

Just finished the game a few hours ago. Went good karma the whole way. Enjoyed it for the most part. Definitely above average, but not without its problems. For one thing, this game suffers from just about every technical flaw a game can have, although it never gets to the point where it doesn't make the game fun. Voice acting was also mediocre to poor. Cole reminded me of Percy Femur from Doug, and Zeke was just plain bad, but I liked the story for the most part.

I'm not sure if I'm going to start and evil side or not. For one thing, I sure don't want to have to go around collecting hundreds of blast shards again. Even in my good run I'm about 40-50 blast shards shy of collecting them all (plus a few dead drops) and I have little to no desire to do that.
