inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Ordered it from Amazon. After some promotions and gift cards, 22 cents.

Demo was great. Any advice on running through? I will likely run through in good then evil. Do I have to get all these shards on one playthrough or can I do it in 2?

In one run only. All the trophies of collecting, doing a thing numerous time etc, must be done on the same playthrough.

Personnally i've done Bad on my first game, with stunts and shards, and on the second one only the missing trophies and Hard finish. Worked pretty well.

Good luck ;)

Think I'm going to start a second playthrough on this playing the infamous route on hard. Very, very long time since I've replayed a game.

Just finished my second playthrough a while ago. It was on hard and I as being evil :D . I have to admit, this is one of the most engaging sandbox games I have played in a while, probably the best so far.

This game netted me my first Platinum trophy :D

First play through on normal / evil so I didn't have to worry about behaving.

Second play through on hard / good, and did all stunts and shards on that one.

Good times.

Endgame spoiler/question

Why didn't I just come back in time and prevent the entire explosion instead of just fuck with me?

It's not the explosion that's the problem, it's the arrival of "The Beast". The explosion was part of Kessler's plan.

Oh so The Beast wasn't a result of the explosion? I thought he was like the other bosses who was a biproduct of the explosion. I admit I kind of didn't pay full attention to the story my first go around.

So I started my hard mode playthrough again. The evil side powerset seems somewhat lacking compared to the good side which surprises me a bit. I thought they all sounded cooler. The cluster nades I had such high hopes for but the explosion radius is balls :/

Kinda late to ask but anyone who preorder this way back on Amazon and havent used their Home code, mind sharing with me? My friend just got a PS3 and is really into Home and would like to see if he can find an unused code from GAF. Just send me a PM. Dont want to derail the conversation going on here. thanx

How I understand it is
when "the beast" comes, he triggers a reaction in the conduits which gives certain people their powers. Cole's (Kessler's) being time travel. Knowing about this "reaction", he goes back in time and recreates it with the sphere and gives cole powers prematurely. They're different powers because it was a different event which caused a different reaction. Since Kessler is so mind fucked, I guess he thought what he did to Cole was the only way to make his point lol. I hope Infamaous 2 features the arrival of the beast and a new set of time raping powers.

From what I gather Cole had natural super powers that would come to him in time regardless of the Ray Sphere. In the original timeline Cole had simply grown old, married Trish and wasn't ready / decided not to use his powers to fight The Beast when it appeared (we don't really know what The Beast is, but I think we can assume it is some alien or super powered monster that goes on to destroy the world) and instead fled with his family. This didn't work out very well and Cole ended up losing everything along with the rest of the world, so he used his powers somehow to travel back in time.

He then took on the alias of Kessler, took over the First Sons and began conducting research that would help him accelerate the growth of his past self's super powers. The result of his research was the Ray Sphere which he arranged for Cole to detonate. The rest of the game is pretty much Kessler orchestrating a series of trials for Cole (his past self) and taking away everything he held dear to prepare him for his future battle with The Beast.

Got 350 shards today. Last one took me a WHILE. Found it in warren, over one of the rivers (i didn¡'t see it because the blue dot mixes with the blue water).

I already started my Hard - Evil playthrough. Don't find it HARD at all... hope it gets more challenging in Warren. I even pull some one headshot kill with some conduits...

Finally picked this up over the weekend and I'm absolutely loving it. The gameplay mechanics are very well designed. Just running around the city climbing up the sides of buildings is fun as hell.

This game came up in conversation earlier today and I haven't been it able to get it out of my mind ever since. I wanted to wait awhile before I started my second play though but I don't know if I'm going to make it.

I just got the 350th shard a minute ago. I was searching for over 2 hours yesterday into the early hours of the morning.

Today I boot up the game (has anyone noticed that it loads surprisinly fast btw for a sandbox game?) and within 10 minutes I find the last three missing shards. All in the park in Neon district.

4 stunts left to do, having a hard time finding three enemies to throw off the roof with a shockwave :(

I got this game as a bday gift a few days ago and holy freaking crap its amazing. It sucked me in right away, I just got to the warren district earlier today. Love the story and the moral choices and powers. Playing through as good and will deffintely play through it again as evil.

Is there anyway to get those gigawatt blades anymore? Any word if SP will sell them as DLC?

I only need to find these last 4 blast shards for the Platinum.

Are there any shards that don't show up on Radar, or are in tricky places? I have no idea where to even look...

I saved before
I fought Sasha for the first time
. Is it possible to ever go back to the other burroughs once you've moved on? I only had cleaned up 86% and would like to get the 100% obviously. What happened makes me worried I can't go back though which seems weird.

You will be able to go back. You actually have to go back as part of the story.

There is one at the top of a tall building in the historic district that doesnt show up on the radar. There is also one in a wooden post in the water in the neon district that doesnt show up easily. Your best bet is to get the shard map from gamefaqs and look for the tricky ones that are near the water.

To get 100% do you need all the shards, stunts and dead drops on both playthroughs (evil and hero) or do you just need the powers?.

Thanks:!

You have to do the shards, stunts, and dead drops in one playthrough and all you need otherwise is the powers for the other playthrough.

Picked this up last week and am having a good time with it. Playing evil on hard for my first run. Only just opened up the warren and I'm already 20/21 of the stunts..I just need to unlock a power for the last one. 50% shards and I think I have all the neon district ones.. The game is definitely fun but wow is it repetitive. Just glancing through the warren side quests and it seems that they're mostly the same as the neon ones aside from enemy types. The special 'evil' ones are cool but don't offer anything new gameplay-wise. I was following the story on the first island just fine but then things got a bit wonky now and I'm not sure I'm liking where it's going.. anyway.. I've played at least 12 hours already so I like the fact it's not an 8 hour throwaway game, although I'm sure my second run will be much quicker since I'm not collecting shards or doing stunts.

so yeah just got 100%. man I'm tired. second platinum... I love it when trophies are just a little out of reach and don't have an absurd online thing attached to it...
bring on infamous 2. woo hoo and all that...

So I picked this up today and I've been playing it quite a lot (really enjoying it so far) but I was wondering just how far along I am in?

I'm doing the Infamous route and I've done the oil/water tank/rooftop mission then, apparently, the last underground mission and I think I'd just done a 'protect the medical supplies' mission.

How much more have I got to go, and is some big shit gonna go down story wise?

You are close to 1/3 done with the game (story wise). There are two more districts to go through after you finish that one. And yes, there are some big story twists ahead.

Hoo boy youre in for a surprise.

Just started the third act now (I think - after the
big prison mission?
)

Enjoying this so far even though at times I find myself getting frustrated with the accuracy and sudden speed of shot of the enemies.

Hopefully I'll have it finished by tomorrow.

edit: also, screw Zeke. He pisses me off.

Playing through it the first time and I'm liking it so far. I'm on Day 17, just a couple missions after lowering the draw bridge from the other district.

I spent way too much time doing side missions in Neon District and should have waited instead. This game is so much more fun with the newer powers I've received so far (precision, gliding, etc.). Before those the game sort of dragged on for me. I'm glad I've stuck with the game though, it's a lot more fun now.

I'm sure this has been asked before in the thread, but what's the point of getting 100% in a district? I thought clearing the area so it was yellow meant that enemies would no longer return, but I still see them often in the Neon District (after getting 100%). Does this just mean these are leftover mobs that I didn't kill originally, or do they keep respawning when they shouldn't?

Please tell me there aren't as many courier side missions in the other districts... Those missions are my least favorite part of the game so far, very annoying.

Seriously, the dialogue/story in this game is very bad(imo). Trish is pretty damn annoying too.

Edit: Wow shooting down the drones was awesome. These powers are becoming pretty damn fun now.

i need to clear three spots in second island but i don't see any side mission sign for those areas. what do i need to do to clear those areas?

Those are probably hidden packages. Kill enemies in those areas and one of them will trigger a hidden package hunt.

Damn, the only thing that keeps me from earning the platinum are about 10k experience points so I can buy the last evil karma upgrade. Already finished my infamous playthrough so there really isn't much to gain EXP from anymore. That's going to be a long grind. :I

You completed all the missions yet? If not you could do the same one over and over, just exit the mission just before you complete it.

Yeah, well, I have like 80% of the side missions left to do. Guess I'll follow your advice and see if I find a good one to earn EXP. Still going to be very tedious, though. :I

So I finished it today. I was on Hard too apparently.

I enjoyed it for the most part - the middle seemed to drag a little, but the last few acts were pretty damn fun and I liked how the ending played out - even though I'm aware it isn't exactly fondly liked around here?

The
Trish/Doctor choice scene was pretty intense. I felt like I'd genuinely been tricked after I'd gone for Trish
. So, all in all - I liked it and look forward to the (inevitable?) sequel.

I thought the general and almost overwhelming consensus was that the ending was great?

Well in the Movie threads I've always got the impression people didn't like it. Probably for the same reasons people didn't like Prince of Persia's ending - which I also loved.

If not then I stand happily corrected.
