inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Can anyone who has already beaten the game or is close give some advice on the
helicoper
mission?
I keep losing track of it by grinding down the wrong wires and other stuff. It's driving me insane.

Not really spoilers, but never hurts to be safe.

Dont try to
follow the helicopter road by road
, instead try and figure out the general direction you have to go and proceed accordingly. You will find that you can use some really long wires to get to the end point. Otherwise you will never be able to generate enough momentum to achieve high speeds.

Eurogamer Germany gave it a 7 out of 10, comparing it to Assassins Creed. How incompetent can a reviewer be to notice that one game has fun gameplay while the other has no gameplay?

Contrary to what the game says, the last 3rd of that mission (possibly more),
you can use the train rails. It follows the same path
.

Thats awesome.

That's it, I'm out of this thread for the next few weeks. It's just a matter of time before someone screws up a spoiler marking, and it sounds like the story is actually good, so yeah... later.

Snagged the demo last night. Had some fun with it. Controls feel pretty good. I wish that Cole felt heavier while climbing, but it's not that big a deal. I swear I saw an NPC running holding his ass, like he had to take a shit. lol It was terribly animated, like pretty much all the NPC's. It almost looks like SP outsourced some of the animation or something. Definitely not the SP quality I'm used to seeing.

I don't know wtf it is, but the game also makes me a bit motion sick :/ I'm usually rock solid with 3rd person games, but this is different. Guess I'll just have to play it in 20 minute bursts. :lol

Uh -- what now?

Sorry, should have been "to NOT notice". ;)
I see. So, uhm, Assassin's Creed had "no gameplay" while inFamous has "fun gameplay"? Gosh, that sounds like a MUCH more competent evaluation! Maybe you should, like, I don't know, do reviews yourself?

Downloaded and played the demo last night...WOW
The controls feel great and climbing feels much easier and more fun than assassins creed
I love the thunder drop move, soooo satisfying :D
So has the street date been broken yet in Toronto?

I already do, no worries. And yep, Assassincs Creed is so much automated that I would never compare it to Infamous.

I liked the demo. I didn't see the jagfest that everyone is claiming. When I am right in front of my TV they are there but they don't bother me when I'm playing from my recliner. I don't even notice.

What name do you use for your reviews? Just asking so that I know what to avoid in the future.

I guess you don't understand german anyway, so...and IF you do understand german you really should read my reviews. Maybe it teaches you how to see the difference between an awesome and an inAWESOME game!

I'm about to do the same.
Now that tons of stores are breaking street date and it's not just a few stores like Meijers, I can't trust people on GAF to not ruin shit for me.

Sometimes, posters fuck up and don't spoiler tag something that's supposed to be tagged.
Other times, they're just too damn lazy and don't care if they spoil it for other people, even if it's a small spoiler.

I love the opening of this game! It is a great way to start a game like this.

Don't accidently leave your speakers cranked, cause it'll scare the shit out of whoever is in the room. The same with the occasional "news reports" that the TVs in the game broadcast.

One thing truly sucks about this game....the attract screen. Been trying to have it up on the screens in the store for the past few days, but it's just so..bland.

Hey guys, I have a sealed copy of UFC for PS3 if someone wants to trade their U.S. copy of Infamous. I remember some people having multiple copies I think.

This hadn't been on my radar at all really, but I've been enjoying the demo, particularly just climbing around. It feels good.

It totally looks like it could have done with a bit of polish though. But I was pleasantly surprised by the demo, so I may have to find time to squeeze this in.

Fixed :)

So, what about the GameSpot review now:lol :lol

I think they are 'credible' for the moment right? Because I remember a certain 7,5 and a certain 8 and after that they were M$ moneyhatz.

You act like this is the only 9 the game has received.

And that proves is you cant Moneyhatz the awesomeness of infamous.

FACT

I can see the AC comparison in some ways, but there's a lot more to do here in terms of the actual gameplay. Mission variety can be a bitch, but it's fun to play as long as you don't overdo it.

The main thing that bothers me is that the game veers between being serious and dark, and dorky and camp. I get a Schumacher's Batman vibe from a lot of things here.

There are certainly similarities between Assassin's Creed and inFAMOUS in terms of its climbing mechanic, but in terms of game design Assassin's Creed isn't in the same class as inFAMOUS. Assassin's Creed had the worst missions of any sandbox game I have ever played. A shame it looked so gorgeous and had such a great setting that was wasted by having about 1 minute's worth of gameplay scenarios regurgitated over and over again.

The blockbuster near my house has it now, but I have to wait. I have it paid off and waiting at GS for the gigawatt blades, and I'm not shelling out 10 bucks to rent it until then.

Whats up with games claiming they support 1080p...yet dont?
Sucker Punch said early on it was 720p. It runs native this way most likely for the same reason Killzone 2 - more resources and particle effects work nicely at that size.
