I've found that it depends. I got MGS4 @ midnight at Wal Mart, but they had someone over in the department specifically because 12 or some people showed up.

I saw it too.

At the end, it had the same robotic "PlayStation" jingle that was used in the PS1 commercials. Hope they use that from now on.
 
Well, G4 is expected, since they always air video game commercials that other channels don't. And they do it constantly.

SpikeTV as well, but not as frequent as G4.

I don't watch G4 or Spike that often....

I want to see inFAMOUS commercials on other channels though. Like how MW2 teaser was shown multiple times during the NBA playoff games.

Just got my gamestop order. How does the extra power work? Can I enter it anytime? I assume gamestop won't email it to me until tomorrow but I don't think I can wait.

Say what you will about GS/EB's business practices, but I appreciate the fact that they're abiding by the street date instead of breaking it like almost every other "brick and mortar" retailer these days.

It hurts their business since people buy from other stores first, but that's how it's supposed be done. I guess some of the blame can be put on SCE for shipping them out so damn early prior to the official release date.

I'm living in the middle of nowhere, so I assumed a lot of people must've gotten their hands on the game by now.
 
Holy shit just saw the commercial on TvTropolis (Seinfeld) and it did have that PS1 voice at the end, it also ditched Playstation 3 for PS3. Sick.

Saw the movie trailer yesterday at Star Trek, went over pretty well in the theater :)
 
i want to see this commercial everybody's been seeing. more than that, i want it to be tomorrow morning so i can run out and pick up the game!

Up to 90 hours now post-reset, thank you.

And it's nothing against the game - I played the demo for 2 hours and had a fun time. I just have 500 saved for books next semester which leaves me about 80 for the rest of the summer, and there's absolutely no way I could last 2 months on 20 bucks.
 
Are there any powers that you charge and fire? Like an upgrade to his main lightning attack? I thought I might have seen something like that in the Justin.tv stream. I'm a sucker for charge beam type weapons.

He has one like a rocket launcher and one like a sniper rifle, but I don't know if they're upgrades or just different powers.

You fuckin serious? How hard is it to put a day to night cycle in a game? That takes so much out of the "living city" vibe of an open world game.
