This game is fantastic finding the blast shards is addicting. I can be in the middle of a mission and see one off in the distance I have to stop what I'm doing and go and get it. Put about 4 hours in last night and lovin every minute of it.

This is what I was doing last night :lol

I got the Trophy for finding 25% or something...and only have completed about 4 missions so far. I've also
found about 13 of the Dead Drops
. I love item hunts!

This is ridiculous.

If he says he gave the game a positive because it somehow caused his PS3 to spit out 100 dollar bills we would call him out on it.

It's not about which weighs more but the accuracy of his statements.

He had issues with the graphics. He's not the only one to have that complaint. He may have exaggerated the issue by comparing the graphics to a PS2 game but I don't see any need to get all bent out of shape about that one comment.

Graphics bad, What?
Only played the demo on my 28" SD-TV but no way in hell that it can be mistaken for a last gen game. I thought it felt and looked really smooth and animations were hawt.

Hey whats the super power you get for preordering at gamestop? They game me a code but I scratched off the first two letters/numbers by accident :(

I only played the 360 version so no comment.
The 360 version doesn't really look any better. In fact, I think it looks a tad worse than the PS3 version despite the higher resolution. The only benefit is a slightly more stable framerate.

I think GTAIV looks better than inFamous, but inFamous runs much smoother than either console version of GTAIV.

loving the game so far, about 3 hours in.

not really a spoiler, probably 3rd story mission:

I'm not so good at locating the satellite dishes with the phone messages (I think they're dead drops?) You're supposed to hit L3 and watch the radar for the gray ring surrounding it, which tells you what direction to go. I completed that mission but the gray ring didn't show up all the time. Any tips?

Hey, no need for you to be all rude and screaming and cussin man.

What, you mean you didn't?

Neither did any of us.

It's range based, so if you're not near one, the gray ring won't show up.

As you get closer it changes from a ring to like a pizza pie. And then a small radar.

That usually means that there is no dead drop around that area, or no power active in that area. Sometime you will be very close to it then you don't get an outer gray ring, you get a smaller gray radar like ring and you have to look around your immediate surroundings. You'll usually hear the distinctive sound as well when you are that close.

It's the Gigawatt Blades, a powerful melee attack. I want to find a code and give them a try myself.

How can that be done? I want one too lol. I'm just guessing everyone who bought the game would want to redeem their codes.

GTAIV is so damn frustrating because Niko controls like a boat. He's slow and hard to manuver. Infamous' control is the opposite of GTAIV and thank god for that.

Honestly, your post didn't bother me as much as some others but I really just need to ignore the troll/defense force battles and just pay more attention to the people talking about the game.

thanks for the tips, guys. I saw the smaller pizza like radar blip, but didn't know what it meant.

something else, I wasn't fully paying attention but I think the game explained how the radar differentiates between marks on different levels? (underground, rooftop, etc.) Is this true? If so, could someone gimme a rundown?

It's nice but there are downsides. You hit right on the d-pad and he activates the blades; it eats up 3 of the little dots (battery cores) on your electricity HUD, though. You have to run up to a guy and melee him while they're on and it will 1 hit kill, the blades turn off after 1 successful hit, though. Also, running up to a guy like that will get you shot at, unless you surprise him or something. It's a nice bonus but most times I'd rather do normal melee so that it doesn't drain my electricity.

I redeemed mine, but I won't level up that power until the rest of my powers are leveled up.

I feel bad for just renting this game because it's so mind-numbingly awesome. I'll definitely buy it next month to support Sucker Punch.

I'm playing through as a bad guy. I'm not being much a dick to the general population yet, but I do choose all the meanie moral choices. I put about three hours into it and I've only done two main missions so far. I'm addicted to all the side quests. It even got extra awesome when I finished up all the available side stuff (around 35-40% of Neon) and all the
armored turret semi trucks
showed up and shit.

I still don't really understand Thunder Drop or whatever it's called. Every time I do it, it seems like I blow up an environmental hazard too and end up killing myself along with everyone else.

the first upgrade is cheap, I think 600 exp. I upgraded it once because I had about that much left over after upgrading one of the other powers

I don't think I got that code with my copy. Maybe I just didn't see it.

It came as a separate card with the preorder; the clerk should have put it in your bag along with the game. You could probably take your receipt back and ask for it, I bet people who actually got the bonus could say the same thing and get another

If you take great offense to people saying bad things about this game I suggest listening to the Hotspot this week. One of the dudes really seems to hate the game (he likes the spider man and Incredible Hilk games more).

Not as funny as Tom Chick but I want to see the reactions!

Yes... also if someone complains about a game all you have to do is look at their post history. Some people don't even try to hide their bias.

Peer pressure is a bitch isn't it? :lol

anyone else on the same boat?

I was, but I got an email this morning that my order shipped and will be here on the 29th. I think those were place holder dates for us non-Prime/release day shipping people.

Game is really really awesome. I don't think it will be as good as Crackdown because none of the powers compare to super agility and super strength but it is still really enjoyable. The platforming is great. I'm only about 6 hours in so maybe I'll unlock some powers that will compare to the Crackdown abilities.

Hey you are here too. You can't take what many of the people here say seriously. I expressed excitement of picking up the game and they jumped all over me because I prefer 360 and that this is my second purchased game for the console.

I agree GTA4 looks better. I don't expect much out of these sort of games visually however this one looks fine...at least certainly not PS2 quality.

I'm playing good, but encountered a side mission that required me to be evil. Is it possible to flip back and forth between good and evil to do all the side missions? I guess that would be a bad idea anyway since you won't be able to get higher level power upgrades if you keep flipping back and forth. I did a good side mission and it told me that an evil one got locked out because of that

Did anyone else who bought this game from Amazon get their Home code yet? Usually, they send those out when the game ships, and I got nothin'.

Picked this up yesterday and put about five hours into it so far.

Collecting shards reminds me a lot of Crackdown, which I love.

But the game is definitely better than Crackdown. :lol

I did a ton of side missions and a few main ones. I like how every few main missions the time of day changes, making the city feel a little different.

There were a few people from MLB GAF playing it yesterday. Pretty much everyone on my PSN list was playing it. I love the game so far, I just like the reactions when a reviewer disagrees with people.

I though the lack of a day/night cycle would be a letdown but the time of day is handled well.

I'm wondering this as well. I'm doing an Evil run, and I completed 2 missions that made me "slightly more Heroic." I don't want to be a Hero! I want to be INFAMOUS dammit! :D

Listen man, I dont have a problem with critisicm of a game but I'm getting tired of people trying to paint a consensus on "sony fanboys" the last couple of months. People jumped on you and that other guy because you said some dumb shit, not because you criticized a game. You pretty much implied that you wish you didnt have to buy ANY game on the PS3 even though you own one. That is a dumb thing to say period. The other guy said this game looks last gen. Go into a 360 exclusive thread and say that, see what people say. Look how many people here are comparing this negatively to Crackdown, and hardly any "fanboy" said anything (graphically and gameplay wise). Now go in a halo thread and bring up Killzone, see what happens, or a GeoW thread and bring up Uncharted's lighting and shadowing and see what happens.

So far for me every Good mission has a bad equivalent. Play one block out the other.

GTA IV looked much better to me but that might be because I find Empire City so terrible looking to begin with. It's fucking hideous. Maybe it gets better when you get out of the Neon District. Still loving the game so far though, even the courier missions.

I'm digging it as well. As I said before it feels like Bizarro Crackdown, it is just better designed overall compared to that. It does have similar problems though with some slight glitches. My biggest problem with the game and many of the sandbox games is I feel very distant from the city I'm in. I wish they would start adding more interactive objects in the city even if the ultimate effect is simply a gag or something to play around with.

I'm doing a Good playthrough but can't for the life of me figure out how you'd complete some of the story missions in an Evil fashion. Like the Train one, for instance.

There are separate good, and evil side missions, as well as missions that offer karmic choices. Then there are missions like the train one that you just do and don't really have much of a good or bad pull....Well scratch that I guess thinking about it the train mission is good in nature :)
Your pretty much Moya's puppet early on a tleast which would explain having to do a good hearted mission being evil
