inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

lol bug, i was healing a citizen and as i was going through my motions, i healed him and went THROUGH THE FLOOR. Must be water under there as I died shortly after and woke up at the nearest hospital bed :P
 
Just finished up the 2nd mission. I'm going pure evil, it just seems like way more fun :lol

If I keep Cole steady, and don't make a bunch of quick turns, I can keep my motion sickness to a minimum. Yay! :lol
 
Anyone one who's beaten the game mind telling me how close I am to the end? Just
saved my friend from the cage in the Dustmen compound
 
Got a couple hours in today...I've seized about 40% of the territory in the Neon district.

So much fun, can't wait to get the rest of the powers. (just got the nade)
 
Ok so after the first mission the game bumped the difficulty up to hard and i'm wondering if i finish the game from then on will it unlock the Hard trophy?
 
Question:

When do the static thrusters get unlocked? I just unlocked precision. I'm a little surprised it's gotten this far into the game without them, although I don't know how far along I am. Hopefully it's not long from now...

I need early island 2 help.
I completed the mission "An Old Friend" and got bad karma, though the mission wasn't stated as bad and I didn't do anything bad to my knowledge. Whats up?
 
So, once the game began I immediately switched it to hard(manually) does this mean I screwed up and won't be getting the trophy? Might as well go down to easy if I'm not going to be getting it :(
 
Anybody have any trick / exploit / favoured mission type to get the "RIGHT BACK AT YA" stunt?

I just can't quite seem to execute it to save my life - have tried for two hours. About to cry.
 
After finishing the first mission it automatically set my difficulty to hard. I was worried it was going to severely kick my ass (after having a hard time with the demo) but it's been very fun so far. Challenging, but not cheap. I'm sure I'll change my tune when I get a little farther in the game though.
 
After putting in almost 13 hours of this game today I can safely say that this and punch-out!! are my 2 favorite games released this year.:D

Had to force myself to stop playing.
 
Just got done playing for a few hours. Great time. I'm really digging all the Sly-like platforming too. The story is one of the better stories I've seen in a sandbox game too.

Are you going after random enemies and their grenades or the grenadier enemies?

Cuz using the grenadier enemies is much, much easier.

Ah, now you're talking. Any memorable mission / sidemission where the grenadiers make an appearance? I've experienced plenty of rocket launcher dudes, but cannot recall a grenadier. Tips?

Just finished a 4 hour session and man it was pure awesome. I was doing the dark water I think that's whats it called... I sent 3 guys flying and stickied 2 other guys and got a 5 kill combo :lol
 
This game... Well, what can I say that hasn't been said? Picked it up today and haven't taken it out of the trey all day. Amazing game. AAA GOTY contender for damn sure. Sadly, the fact that it's a PS3 exclusive all but throws it out of the running. :/

Same. I never realize how much time I spent on this game yesterday until I looked at a clock :lol Easily one of the best games I've played this year so far.
 
I'm honestly surprised at how many of you are having a great time with it. With all the subtle trolling that's happened in the past few days I have had VERY measured expectations of Infamous despite really enjoying the demo. Well how about that :D

Hmm, I just assumed the game defaulted to Normal difficulty, so as soon as was physically possible in game once the game gives you control i.e. within seconds (since there is no front end options menu) I went into options to check and switched to Hard manually. Does this mean I won't get the trophy? Because if so i'll be pissed... how was I supposed to know the difficulty would switch automatically.

Cut out graphic whores, perfectionist, and trolls. You won't have much complainers. There will always be those "Meh, I don't see what's so special" guys. Well that's not much of a valid complaint.
 
Can someone help me?

I'm doing the mission Mysterious Signals (third story one I believe) and I think my game is glitched. After reaching the first one which is by the starting point, the lady tells me to find two more Dead Drops. Well I'm looking around until I find one and killing the bad guys on the roof standing near it, yet there is no triangle button prompt like before and I can't seem to destroy them either.

You skipped the second one and went right for the third. You have to use the L3 button which shows you the direction of the next one.
 
Just played the first 40 minutes of the game. Awesome. Definitely exceeding my enjoyment of the demo. I thought the train section of the demo was a little boring; but so far the retail game is fantastic. I love the platforming.

It works but one thing, you have to install the game first then the download the DLC, if you downloaded the DLC first then install the game it will not show up.


This game is fantastic, I feel like a super being jumping across roof tops and jumping down to fight some crime, especially in that park. I thought those good and evil decisions were all going to be stupid but to my shock some of them are actually quite good.

My favorite part so far is to sneak into the blackout part of the city to turn the power back on.
 
Here we go again, just bought the game due to GAF-hype.
Played the demo and thought it was okay, so I BETTER love the complete game.
Otherwise I'll in my couch, waving my fist at you guys!

Thanks, that was it. I figured you could do it in any order being that this is an open world game.

Restarted the mission so many times thinking it was glitched :lol

I think he was talking about the Uncharted Beta codes, which don't work yet.
 
Just finished some of the early missions, got like 8 dead drops and ~70 shards wooo. Great so far, the introduction sequence was fuck-awesome (and surprising).
 
Really, really loving this game. This is probably the most any game has ever actually made me feel like an up-and-coming superhero. And so far,
I think Trish's anger at Cole and Zeke's obsession with becoming a superhero too add to that.

The only thing that seems a tad wonky to me is
Cole's amazing cell phone. I just don't buy that he's able to hack and decode dropped messages with it. Other than that, I'm enjoying the plot.
 
Just picked up my european copy of inFAMOUS :) When is the official release date for inFAMOUS in Europe by the way? I read both 27th of May (which is today) and 29th of May.

you'd be amazed at what our current government can do. I'm not surprised at all :P
 
Did the first few missions. Love the deeply rooted platforming early on. Story is well presented. You can't ask for more from a comic book like setting. It's perfect in conveying that. And I manually changed it to hard right at the destruction part in the first 2 minutes of the game. It's as good if not better than I thought and I'm only a coupe hours in.
