or maybe your just paranoid, Eurogamer is a great review site, one of the only good ones out there, just because they didn't give a game you like a great score they are not biased. Plus why dose it matter to you what score they give it, just enjoy the game

I've got a life, but I can see that a game like Infamous is a little better than some of the shit they've given higher scores to. Sorry for having an opinion jackass.

EDIT: I was talking about earlier when you said they shit on ps3 exclusives because they didn't give LBP a 10 but a 9 instead.

a) you never played infamous so your not qualified to say that
b) different games are reviewed by different ppl so different ppl have opinions
c) your attacking the credibility of one of the most credible gaming sites out there, you might have a different opinion, but to call them biased is stupid.
d) 7/10 is a great score
 
The GiantBomb video along with the PlayStation.com videos have more than sold me on this game. Nothing a reviewer writes can take away Infamous' visual appeal. I am by far a kool-aid drinker, I don't give shit about Eurogamer's review, and I can't wait 'til this thread fills up with spoilered gameplay moments from people who are enjoying SuckerPunch's hard work.

A) I've played the demo and can give my opinion based on that.
B) While they can have a difference of opinion, so can I about their scores.
C) Credibility is also subjective. They've given way too many 10/10s to xbox exclusives and zero to PS3 exclusives, and are usually outliers on the positive side to 360 exclusives while also being negative outliers to PS3 exclusives.
D) While being that once in a while is just fine and accepted being that for the majority of the time shows a sense of bias to third parties.

Either way, they are not very credible to me because of their scores being usually so different from my perceived ratings of the games I've platyed and their scores, and also their ratings compared to other sites.

But I'm done discussing their review of it. Infamous's demo is a great game and the reviews from most sites have been great, so I don't need to talk about it anymore.
 
Don't worry Afreak I completely agree with you, I just dont give a flying fuck about Eurogamer, lets not worry about them, they are shit at best.

Anyway I can see why people would want guns, i mean they are fun to shoot, but first and foremost, the world has to be believable and guns dont fit in this world (with Cole). Same with driving, its fun, but its a slower alternative, you would never see Spidy driving would you.
 
This is the same website that has allowed reviews to be posted that had outright lies posted in them. This is the same website that offers slanted multiplatform comparisons. This is the same website that constantly overrates 360 exclusives. This is the same website that underrates 99% of all PS3 games they review based on the average from all other reviews. This is the same website that fanned the flames of controversy with a stupid article about RE5 being racist. This is NOT a credible website.

accusing a site of bias is not an opinion, but an accusation, which you have no proof to support other then the fact they have different opinions then you. Credibility != having the same opinion as me. EG are very credible and accusing them as such because they gave a game you haven't played a 7/10 (which is a good score) then that is really stupid. You don't seem to know what the word biased or credible mean, so don't go throwing them around like an idiot. I do think inFamous is more then a 7, but again 7 is a good score and perfectly acceptable to me

I have played the game. I said I played the demo, which is a long demo with most of the powers. I know what I'm getting into.
 
I will just say that I have no idea whether Eurogamer's take on InFamous will accord with my own opinion. Having played the demo, I can only suspect that I will like it more than they did.

However, I will also say that EG is a credible site with some entertaining and well-written reviews. I will also say that I disagree with their reviews frequently, and that as a team they have very different tastes to me.

The classic example, to me, is the Fable 2 review. To me, that game was so far from a '10' it wasn't funny. Now I read their reviews for interest, but I know my tastes don't accord with theirs, often.

It's too bad you can't compare (easily) the score differences relative to the median score at Gamerankings (or another averaging site) of various sites.

For instance, the average score Plus/Minus value difference relative to the Gamerankings average score of all Xbox games at Eurogamer versus their PS3 game reviews.

An example would be, that for the last 50 reviews, the average Eurogamer review is 0.35 points higher than the Gamerankings median score for Xbox games, but -0.42 for PS3 games. These numbers are made up, of course. And I have a hunch that most sites would show no bias. Some would.
 
Anyway did you guys read 1UP review it was actually good.

Simply put, InFamous is the kind of game that when I'm not playing it, I'm constantly thinking about doing so. Heck, I already know what's going to happen right after I finish this sentence: I'm going to go back and play more as "superhero lightning cop" Cole.

A) Tons of people have played the demo and the majority agree that it will be a good game. If you were so quick to bash IGN for their 9.2 score by just (supposedly) playing the demo, then why isn't he "qualified to say that?"
Oh, and other review sites along with numerous GAF'fers who either got a review copy or a broken street date copy, have all said it's a good game (not demo).

B) No shit. You must be a genius to have figured all that out by yourself.

C) EG's credibility has already been attacked and it has already died long ago. You calling them "one of the most / only credible gaming sites out there" is beyond stupid. It's batshit insane.

7/10 is not a good score. If you equate it to a school grading curve, this game is a "C-" and below average. I've only played the demo, but I can't imagine how this game isn't deserving of at least an 8 or 8.5.

Wasn't this the sight that just got caught putting out a review for a game it only played for an extremely short period of time?
 
i think european game sites/mags feel they need to try and copy EDGE sometimes and throw out the odd low score because they think it makes them look discerning :lol

If anyone watched the recent Eurogamer InFAMOUS vids, you'd see that they weren't very good at all. It seems like they didn't play the game the way it was intended to be played. Enemies kept shooting rockets at them and they weren't using the force push move which sends the rockets flying back the other direction.

This really bothered me, honestly.

I don't know why everyone is making the EG review such a big deal. That site lost its credibility eons ago, so for them to be the outlier yet again doesn't surprise me. Forget it and move on. After playing the demo, review scores meant fuck all to me. It's just nice to see that most of the press agree with the praise the game has gotten.
 
I just don't get the people who always come in to say a 7/10 is a good score. If one averaged 70/100 in school, they wouldn't even get into a college/university.

Either way, there will always sites who do this just to get hits. This is a common practice in all areas of the internet be it sports, music, or movie critics. If a certain site or writer does this, just don't click on the article...that's all one can really do.
 
Definitely not a good score. It's not even a good score for EDGE (as it often claimed) -- they themselves said their average score is 6.7, so even for them 7 is not good.
 
I think I've read everything in this thread, but I'm wondering if any consensus has been reached regarding the Gigawatt blades that come with the gamestop pre order. If it's going to make the game less fair/fun, I don't want it.

I'm debating whether to shift my pre order to Ghostbusters and get this off Amazon since it's discounted.

Prob 25 mins of the demo. They've been doing this shit too much lately, and people are saying they've been doing it even before Resistance and Darkfall.
