inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

You fuckin serious? How hard is it to put a day to night cycle in a game? That takes so much out of the "living city" vibe of an open world game.

Because it allows the developers to stylistically set the mood of certain chapters.

Now now, we certainly wouldn't want to give developers creative freedom, or assume that they are the best judges of what's the best for their own games.

Because they want a certain mood for every mission. Like you wouldn't want to go on a murdering rampage on a bright sunny day with rainbows all over.

If a "sandbox" game doesn't copy/paste all game design aspects of GTA games, then it fails to be considered a good open-world game.

No guns, no vehicles, no day/night rotation = fail.

-1 sale. Screw that, and no day/night cycle. WTF?

Oh man, whoever said he went through the entire game without noticing any framerate dips (I think it someone at IGN) fucking lied!

Looking back at the demo thread I agree 100% with what TTP bitched about. The performance of the game's engine takes some major hits at times, it's not ever funny.

I also fucking hate with frame rate goes above 30 :\

We already went through this. Irrelevant.

Sorry dude, but I'll go at it again because it IS relevant to me!

Who fucking decided it's not for everyone?

God :lol I haven't read a more irritating post then this in a while.

I have been following this game from a distance without letting it slip under the radar. I watched the videos and reviews in the last couple of days and I was totally blown away and pretty much speechless when i heard the soundtrack.

Seems Amon Tobin played a huge part in the making of the soundtrack. One of my favorites and also currently lives in my city (Montreal Canada). Go figure.

There are three other contributors and creators on the soundtrack that I've never really heard of but they have definitely peaked my interest if they can meld with Amon Tobin like they did on this game.

I don't own a ps3 (yet) and I rarely buy music online. I bought the soundtrack to this game on itunes the minute I found out it was for sale.

The gameplay looks really awesome to boot and I'm finding it harder and harder to hold off my ps3 purchase as every day goes by but I essentially came in this thread to praise the music.

EDIT: Sorry make that more than 5 contributors to this soundtrack other than Amon Tobin. Seems I'm behind even on my favorite music genre!

Hey man just so you know any damning flaws you find in the game will be denied by the Sony Defense Force :lol

If you want to support Jinfash in this, then the best thing to do would probably be to stay the hell out of it. You and Click can both go wrestle in a tar pit for all I care. Jinfash is cool, though.

Just speaking the truth. Don't believe the GAF hype.

Can someone provide me with a list of things the awesome and relevant people in this thread have already gone over and discussed? just as a future reference.

why is this troll still here? Honestly go to the Prototype thread or something. I wish the 360 had great exclusives out now so you trolls had somewhere else to blow each other.

Does this game follow the standard open world format - areas you have to control by completing missions/beating bosses?

The cable gliding reminds me of Jet Set Radio and the superpowers remind me of Crackdown. Is that a good description you think?

Yes to the bolded part.

yea but it seems like i am not doing it right she keeps beating me.

I know that you already answered this, but are you sure you're moving the analogue stick correctly? (i.e. trying to move the gray circle to the flashing one) Because you only tap x to be able to move the cursor, the faster you tap the faster it moves.

I got stuck tapping X for a couple of mins too.

(Evil) Side missions on the first island were silly, since they made me feel like a teenage prankster rather than a villain, and were getting repetitive.

Side missions on the second island otoh is OMG awesome! Very different that the first batch. Finally starting to feel like a criminal!

good to hear. the missions in the demo are stupid, it's the only thing keeping me from feeling much excitement.

Just saw the 30 second inFAMOUS commercial during WWE RAW... the same one I saw before Terminator 4. Its really well done, and good job Sony for advertising during RAW.

Actually really liked the train one, but the others were a little by-the-numbers.

lol instead of aiming for the circle i was aiming for the faucet things. I feel stupid.

Nah, don't. I just wasted 20 minutes trying to complete a story mission where no enemies or directions were given. Turns out that I glitched the gamed somehow and jumped to a place I was supposed to :lol

Oh well.

Edit: AW MAN! finally reached the "infamous" rank! took me forever!

They just showed one during the Lakers Nuggets game. That ensure alot of people at least saw it.

is that what you meant?:lol

Between the bundled beta, great demo, the seemingly decent marketing effort and going back to the old jingle... the fuck, did Sony just wake up from some bad dream, that wasn't a dream, or some shit? Like, "oh fuck dudes, that's right, we are the Playstation dudes!"
