inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Only thing I dont like with all HD open world games is the icons on the mini map/large map are usually too damn small. Got a 37 inch HDTV and still takes a little staring to see whats an evil, good, or neutral side mission.

It annoys me that the voice from tv's are the best sounding thing in the game so far. Why cant all voices and everything sound that clear and nice.

You think they would have let you pull up the whole map to see the icons larger when you press select.....oh wait.

The real game is sooo much better then the demo, I really disliked the demo but had to get Infamous since I've been wanting it all those E3's ago.

Two question though, whats a drop down? And do I always have access to them?

A Dead Drop?

Got my copy :D Sitting in front of me as we speak. Even though I preordered it, I didn't get the Gigawatt Blades. They said they had limited supply... :/

That said, anyone has a spare Gigawatt Blade sitting in their closet of weapons? :D

You'll reach a story mission that will explain the dead drops. After that you'll be able to find them.

It would be nice if they (meaning all open world games) had an option to display a larger mini map that was somewhat translucent so you could see the icons AND the game.

still playing. so awesome. I'm being full-on evil on my first playthrough.

I have to say, the close-ups during Bio-leech are friggin' awesome and a little disturbing.

you got these scared people with masks on and fear in their eyes trying in vain to stave off my hands as I close in to extract their essence.

I really like how all the powers is accessible simply through thoughtful button combination, I know the powers is basically equivalent to guns, grenade, shotgun, sniper and rocket launcher. But I really like you can use all of those without bringing up weapon ring or hitting d-pad to change weapon.

other shooter already start to have grenade button ready at all times. maybe they can learn something from infamous here.

I would help you out but it's on my main account.

Sooo yeah. I preordered inFAMOUS online, and picked it up in-store at Gamestop.
So when I got home, I used the bonus code for the Gigawatts Blades that was included in my game's box. And just five minutes ago, I received yet another code for the Gigawatts Blades.
For anyone who didn't preorder and get the Gigawatts Blades code, PM me and I'll send you the code. :)

Edit: Already given away.

Oh man... just did the side mission to take out the gang members on the prison roof, then went to climb to the top of the prison to get the dead drop and whatever blast shards were in the area... god this game is awesome.

If you're willing to wait a couple of hrs, I'd share mine if you can't find other means of obtaining them.

It's not often that you play a game that feels this good. I'm in love with the gameplay/controls.

Such a great game, so far.

Taking a little break. This is one of those games where if you have to use the bathroom, you just gotta hold it. I just took a huge piss :lol

picked this up a while ago, digging it so far. couple questions:

1. it said that based on my performance in the first mission, it upped the difficulty to Hard. Will I still get the trophy that says I beat it on hard even though technically I didn't START the game on hard? I know the trophy is specific in the description because it states you must play without changing difficulties at all.

2. Am I right in trying to level up my resistance to enemy damage before any of my powers? skimming through this thread it seems like that's what people are doing.

wow, the gigawatt blades are so fucking useless!

You turn them on in exchange for three power orbs just to be able to land one hit (albeit a deadly one)? I won't even remember to press the d-pad when during an intense battle.

Anyhow, I have a question for those who completed the third island 100%.
Is there a small part of the island that you can't gain control of? because my save file says I have 84 districts (out of 84) under control but there's still a small part that I haven't covered yet. I hope it's not a glitch in my save or anything.

Yea theres quite a bit on southwest end that I cant get control of. You sound as if youre further ahead than I am though. Just kill some fools. They probably have a hidden package mission somewhere.

Can someone tell me why there are like two Good Side Mission icons on my mini-map that always seem to vanish when I get within a block of them? They're there for like ten minutes while I do other stuff and then when I head to them, they vanish off the map just as I get there. Freaking annoying, and I've only been able to do one good mission - there's like three Evil Side Missions on the map at the moment, but I'm playing Good the first time through so obviously I don't want to do them.

I'm not that far into the game, only have like 43% of the first island cleared.

That's what I thought until I checked my save file where it says I have every area under control. I couldn't even find any enemies to kill in those parts :\

You're right though, I'll just continue doing some more story mission, maybe that'll trigger something up.

When you have two moral based missions side by side, evil and good, you choose either based on whether you're playing the hero and evil path. As soon as you finish one it'll lock the other, since you only need one of them to gain control of the its surrounding area. I doubt that it's even possible to alternate from one mission to the other.

As for the other missions that keep disappearing, I don't know. Sometimes a citizen who's responsible for triggering the mission die and you have to move around until he respawns or you have to kill some enemies to start a hidden package mission.

Why the crap am I having the game telling me I'm becoming "slightly more evil" after I complete a mission? Is it because I decided to BIOLEECH ONE REAPER BECAUSE MY HEALTH WAS ALMOST GONE? BOOOOO.

Wait scratch that you get the rest once you beat the game. So yea just keep on keepin on.

They are still pretty small on the full screen map. All the side mission icons look the same at a quick glance, and I just think the good or bad side missions could've had a more pronounced color glow effect.

:lol

"Walk the Dogs", a side mission, is fucking hilarious.

Seeing guys dressed in trash bags scurry down the sidewalk in a line together had me rolling.

Did you take the dive on a PS3?

edit: Yeah, I loved walk the dogs!

:o

:O

:OOO

I just reached the story mission where I get to choose whether to destroy the ray sphere saving the lives of others or activate it, which will kill john, but gain more powers! Of course I chose to activate it (evil action) which made me gain 1500 XP and turned my electric powers' color into dark crimson red! almost black! BAD ASS!!!

About the first boss

What the hell did Cole do to hurt Sasha? I just saw him pulling her arm towards his shoulder each time.

He was pulling those plugs out of her.

Man, the final act has really gotten on my nerves.
I'm usually fine with the black and white distinctions that developers make in these types of games, but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit here and listen to the developers tell me ethical egoism is evil. I'm referring to the part where you have to decide; Save 6 doctors or save Trisha. There could be a dang good compelling case to be made for ethical egoism. Bunch of crap if you ask me.

So I'm on 17/21 stunts, I've been stuck on the one where you need to force push (or whatever it's called) 3 enemies at the same time off the roof.

Has anyone found a good place to do this?
