inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

Just finished Hero story.

Really great ending :D
Didn't see that coming at all, actually I thought the whole story did a good job of being fairly unpredictable. How exactly did the time travel thing work, did I miss it or was it not really explained? And I guess in the end Moya decided to disassociate herself from you and make you out to be the enemy to the government right? Also I found it interesting that the credits were done in alphabetical order and without titles, was more like listing the Sucker Punch family than Sucker Punch development team.:D
Gameplay was fantastic, powers were well paced gave plenty of tools for platforming and fighting. Performance/Presentation needs cleaning up but thats the only thing I feel really needs attention in the sequel, if they do everything else as good as it is here it'll be great.

Ok, this sound odd, but I'm now convinced he radar isn't totally accurate for shards. I've had it happen twice now. Just now in the neon district. I was checking a spot on a small house on a dock. I stood at the end of the dock and clock the radar a few times...nothing. Then I climb the little house and WHAT? there is a shard there. I click the radar again and NOW the blue dot is there. I had another one do the same thing; the blue dot would not show up on radar until I had SEEn the shard with my camera, and I don't think it is supposed to work that way

I went running through the city spamming the button and found several shards I had not seen with my camera yet.

EDIT: Also whats the best way to get xp after the end? I need one more power (most expensive of course) and while there are still a few enemies it'll still take awhile at this rate.

Any tips on the Flying Melee stunt?

I've upgraded the shockwave once, which may be a problem since it propels the dudes farther than I can usually run. I'm thinking I have to shockwave them into a wall or something?

Do this but a step back so he can fly into you for the punch.

If your playing evil, try to melee some pedestrians, I have had it trigger multiple times just randomly beating down someone on the street.

I got it numerous times by accident just melee attacking the
spider
enemies.

I did this last night by accident, just by meleeing a guy off of the roof - when I connected for the take down the combo momentum had taken me off of the roof.

Holy shit Ho.Lee.Shit. at the ending........AMAZING..I can't believe Ellis was putting down the story in this game on 1upYours....That was one of the most satisfying video game stories I've seen in a while.

Lame. They have the perfect in game setup to deliver more content. Oh well.

Well if Garnett is correct they are pretty much ditching this hybrid engine and moving onto something more PS3 oriented.

I wasn't really drawn into the story as much, but when that ending came up, I was actually pleasantly surprised.

My only minor gripe, (MINOR) some characters, specifically Zeke, translate really well into the "comic" cutscenes, but when presented in the game world, feels very plastic. Perhaps its the animation of the NPC's, but I just don't feel emotionally drawn to the other characters as I should.

If I was it would have made the ending from good, to awesome.

The best way is to hope you haven't done the 'terror bus' side missions. If you play these missions and kill all the enemies with style, you can get about 250-300xp and then, before you kill the bus, abandon mission and replay it. Rinse and repeat.

If you've got no side missions left, then it will be trickier / longer.

Are people struggling to get all of the powers then before the game ends? I'm about 50% of the way through the second island and I've unlocked (I think) all tier two powers (Maxed out a few as well, like the melee and damage reduction ones) and I'm working towards the 12k I need to get the last upgrade of the standard lightning bolt - which seems to be by far the most expensive power (Unless there are more expensive ones later?).

At the rate I'm going through it wouldn't seem like I'd have problems. :/

Looking forward to seeing how this ends and then starting again on Hard/Evil.

Man these final 10 shards are tough...Any tips for getting the final shards, or just run around spamming L3?

5 more shards....Man this is getting harder :lol

Now, I'm only at the second island but so far the story has been boring and totally uninteresting. The comic looking cutscenes do look good but that's about it. Nothing about the story or characters have been compelling this far for me, anyways.

It really picks up towards the end of the second island.

Yeah...Your early it keeps getting better and better.

Then again if you've found the initial events uninteresting maybe your just not into the story. I found myself wanting to know more and more about who was behind the events that unfolded.

Just finished this. Good game, but damn...AI in all open world games need a major overhaul. Everyone has pinpoint accuracy and shoots you nonstop. They spawn randomly out of view with serious range, know where you are immediately, and shoot instantly. Blast them to bits before they blast you. Rinse and repeat. The game auto upgraded me to Hard mode in the beginning since I was kicking ass I guess. But midway through I turned that shit back down to normal cuz fighting really isnt that fun at all when you are staring at a black and white screen every minute.

They also need to solve the traveling problem that plagues all these type of games. Getting to the next destination is fun at first since you are exploring the new world, but at the end it just got tiring. Especially since late missions drag you across all the islands, and put new missions miles away from your last one.

Went all good the first time through. Might replay going evil, but I'm not sure I'll want to replay this game anymore. Losing some of those abilities is gonna be rough times.

EDIT: Started a New Game for a sec and just realized that you still cannot skip cut scenes. Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

My lady thinks I got a GAF addiction :p

My girlfriend thinks so too...

Me: Did you hear about Jamie Foxx and Halle Berry?
Her: No... where did you get that?
Me: ... uh... internet. Its everywhere.
Her: You got it from Neogaf, didnt you?
Me: ... There might have been a thread about it. Not too sure.
Her: *Rolls Eyes*

I sent her the Trico footage... her reply was... "What is that thing?"... Finally she said "Its aiite... looks cool."

Meanwhile I am depressed worrying at the possibility that I might have to kill my FRIEND (Dont look at me that way, thats what he is) at the end of the game.

I havent even bothered telling her what E3 is. Women dont understand Gaf... or Games.

Video Games: Serious Business. :lol

I'm loving this game so far, just got on to the 3rd island playing Evil - only a couple of complaints really; firstly, if there's one negative memory i'll take from this generation, it'll be of games like inFAMOUS & Far Cry 2 where my sense of immersion was ruined by awful AI that detects your presence before you're visible. Secondly, Trish is possibly one of the most irritating characters i've encountered in a video game, she does nothing but bitch, moan and send you on pain in the ass missions - also, I really enjoy climbing, but wish there were a few more challenging climbs in the game like the prison or the huge tower on the second island. Beyond all that, however, i'm thoroughly enjoying things and can't wait to play through again, although i'm not looking forward to the hard difficulty setting :p

Gaaah I'm down to my last blast shard! I did perimeter searches, then went through each block inside of each city in each island and still can't find it!
I'm so close to getting my platinum too :(

Qn: Are there any shards actually ON the tower in the Warren?

No, only in the "scrap slum" in front of it.

Also, for those missing one shard on island 3; have you checked the incredibly large building next to the crater? At the top of the building there's a lone shard, which CAN'T be detected if you're on ground level and use L3.

Really now.. I'll have to check it out, thanks :)

Edit: Damn, nope. Wasn't that one :(

Edit #2: FOUND IT! FINALLY!!!! YES! :D
Thanks for the tips, BeeDog

Will check...Thanks.

Another tip (repost since several peeps have already mentioned it): did you guys grab the lone shard on a wooden beam a bit out in the water on island 1? You need the hover ability to get it, and you'll see several wooden beams you have to traverse to get to the last one holding the shard.

It's around the NE / E part of island 1, check along the coast there.

Aaand just got the Casey Jones trophy, which gave me my very first Platinum Trophy!
:D:D:D

Holy shit, evil spoilers

activating the Ray Sphere actually worked! I thought it was gonna be some bullshit but I'm uber powerful now. Also, I can't go back! Infamous forever!

What am I supposed to do in "High Ground" ?

I charged the cellphone tower, killed all the gunners in the black out area, and then made a loop back to the tower. But I see new gunners on the vehicles now. What do I do ?

Someone answer my question please ! I'm waiting. It's 4am now.
Isn't there a blue marker on your sub map. It should lead to a sewer.
Got to get to sleep got a raging headache.

My playthrough today confirmed that you can do stunts early. I did air sticky, blow 5 guys with grenade, grenade stick and kill before it blew up in the middle of the first island.

I'm stuck on the stunts right now. I'm trying to get 3 enemies knocked off a rooftop but I've 100%'d all districts. Is there a place I can go to find 3 enemies on the roof to do this?

You're screwed dude... like most of us are. :lol

No. I've found three Reapers on a roof while looking for shards in my 100% game. I can't tell you where exactly, but they are there somewhere.

Sorry about that lads. About to unlock my Evil and Hard finish trophies. Credits are a rolling!

How did you activate Hard? By yourself in the Options menu, or by letting the game automatically bump it up during the first mission?

What sewer ? I am on the rooftop. Went down to street level but there's no special entrance :(

Really enjoying tha game. I don't really like these open world games but inFamous is just a joy.

Just got a new ability
rail grinding
which is awesome. So cool.

Trying to nab all the shards is also quite addictive. Gotta catch em all! :D

Playing through as a good guy but I have to say, this is one of the only games where, given the choice, I want to be evil. I think a second play through I will defo be doing this. Let them fry!

BeeDog said:

Basically, as soon as I could move in the crater, I bumped it up to hard.

Boy, that took a horribly long time for the trophy to appear :P

Haha, I just got this stunt during the poluted towers mission. I saw from a distance that there were three guys on a roof so instead of shooting them I went down and sneaked up to the building. At the moment I was on the roof they wanted to run away in different directions and I just spammed L1 + X like crazy. Suddenly all of them were gone but no stund showed up. Then the "High Fall" stunt showed up and I was like "wtf damn" and right after it it said "Have A Nice Fall". Woho! Where can I see which stunts I already did?
