Done em all, healing everyone I see, and in DIRE search of random battles.

I'm gonna go around again tomorrow to each island and see what I can find.
You should still hit 3k. Make sure to kill enemies using shockwave and shooting them in the air for double the amount of XP you gain.

Just finished the game. Absolutely loved it, I hope this game sells like hotcakes; Sucker Punch deserves it. Normally I don't get sucked into the stories in games with the exception of metal gear and a few other titles here and there, but I think the comic style of the cut scenes grabbed me and the story got REALLY good at the end.

Looking forward to my Good playthrough!

P.S. Red electricity looks very badass, but it looks even more wicked once it's black and red electricity instead of the white and red.

Edit: loved the little bit of dialogue after the credits!

For some stupid reason every time I did lighting storm I was yelling bankai!!!! :lol

So I just reached the Historic District and I finally decided to post. Good shit so far and based on some impressions, it seems like the endings kick ass as well.

It's very rewarding and refreshing playing this game. I'm playing as a hero right now and I'm actually keeping myself in that mind frame. Whenever I see a civilian in need, I abandon whatever I'm doing to help them... even though I have a maxed out hero karma. This also makes the game very tough since I can't just abuse the shockwave in crowded areas thus adding a layer of depth not seen in other so-called "super hero" games like the spiderman games for example. And the few times I do mistakingly hit a pedestrian I feel terrible. I hope they're alive and rush to them right away even though I'm taking gun fire lol. The worst is when I accidently kill them. =[

That happend to me as well. I was always doing the zoom in lighting in every fight against enemies until my powers drained, that and the normal lighting bolt. Only when shit got real did I use my powaz and I always felt bad when I couldn't save a pedestrian.

Now that I am evil EVERYONE ON THE SCREEN MUST DIE!!!!!!!1 >.<!!!!!

Argh, I was just doing the mission where you
got to destroy the 4 balloons that are spreading the toxin
and as soon as I destroyed the third one, my game crashed. Anyone else have this happen to them? It completely froze on me.

I'm not too far into the game yet. Just one the second island. But the game semi-crashed on me once so far. It went suddenly black and the audio kept looping. Hitting the PS button and then going back to the game fixed it oddly enough. Other than that, I am loving this game, so much fun.

Liking the gameplay so far, and the story seems pretty cool. Although, it almost feels like there was no communication between the team in charge of the 2d comic cutscenes, and whoever directed the realtime cutscenes. And I already hate Zeke with a passion, in part thanks to his hilarious shitty in-game model, but also because of his annoying chatter.

Went to the circle powerlines section of Warren and had a lot of fun messing around.
I went on the powerline looked up and spammed megawatt hammer and look at the spectacle.

The story is really satisfying so far, surprisingly so. I just "finished" The Warren (second island).

The game has been raised from a three star game to a four star game in my mind over the past day or playing. FUN stuff. The missions are varied up really nicely, and the side-missions variants are all super-fun. I've really warmed to the presentation of the city as time has gone on as well, although that might just be Stockholm Syndrome. The story is the icing on the cake.

Really, really good. If you're reading this, and are undecided, I recommend going and buying the game. It is worth full retail price.

Finished the second island yesterday and I realized something really annoying: everytime I encounter a
golem
in a mission and there were little to no Dustmen, I get evil karma. How do I defeat them without getting bad karma?

Can somebody help me out: I'm with
the engineer and he's supposed to fix a bridge but i don't know where that bridge is. In cases like this, there doesn't seem to be any indication on the radar on where to go?
.

It's the large bridge between the first and the second island. You can find it in the NW corner of the first island and the SE corner of the second island, right next to the prison. Guide the engineer to a control panel on the right side of the bridge.

Crap crap crap, I'm near the end, and i have all but one shards!! I also have only one stunt left to do, but I can't do that until I do the next mission cause I need a conduit to do the thunder drop thing on. Amazing how now I can't get a conduit to show up to save my life in the city!

But blah... I have to scour each area to find that last shard. Pisses me off.

Zeke truly is irritating and unappealing, as is Trish.

I truly love the game, but to me, Sucker Punch did a far better job with characterisation in their Sly Cooper series. Even the bosses lacked a certain flair. Hmmm.

Infamous gameplay update: just got the
light shield
The powering up is SO satisfying. Unlike most games, everytime you get a powerup. It feels real. The impact it has on the game is real. LOVE THIS.

game is addictive but I personally find the locate the shard nonsense - it was nonsense in crackdown and here it is annoying. I'm just not that sort of gamer... although, gotta say, the sensor R3 makes it a lot easier I guess.

Note: One thing I think Infamous does stupendous well is meter out really really really awesome fights + upleveling of difficulty + shit-storm fights. So immensely satisfying when the AI comes at you in droves.

Game is awesome and really enjoying the narrative + gameplay. Quite a killer AAA title. Looks amazing too. Cole grinding on the trainlines = amazing. I love the RPG elements and the visuals of lighting shitstorm happening. LIGHTING LIGHTING LIGHTING.

ooooooOOOOOOO

love

How do you mean with no communication between the team in charge of the 2d comic cutscenes? I thought that the 2d cutscenes were pretty good and fitted the story nicely :)

This happend to me too :\ I searched every area (or so i thought) and when i searched the final area i see that i miss 1 shard. Now i must search every area again more carefully, or else i might end up not finding the last shard again.

Hopefully i will find the last shard rather quickly so i dont have to search every single area again. It would suck if i find it in the last area after searching the entire map hehe :\

Right, but they don't mesh at all with the in-game cutscenes. The characters actually look cool in the 2d scenes. Here's top hoping that Sucker Punch goes back to a more toonish style for its next game.

I think I'm just gonna get the blast shards this playthrough and get the stunts when I play naughty Cole. Will be too annoying now.

Actually, by the end of the game, I had no problems with Zeke or Trish. Their behavior in the crazy events of the game is perfectly understandable. Now, if you just don't like Zeke's redneck-ness, I can see that. :lol But I think their emotional and personal shortcomings are portrayed well and added to the increased isolation you start to feel as Cole.

I felt the same, neither of them really bothered me by the end.

If you want annoying, go play Killzone 2, by the end you'd happily destroy and tear apart Rico GOW style then eat his innards. Hes that annoying.

Man you guys said the Red Faction demo was fun and I wasn't terribly impressed....I hope you're right about this one

Yep, GAF was right. I've done about half the side missions on the first island and upgraded my power bar 3 times and this is my GOTY so far, it's so much fun. I love the fact that collecting the blast shards has a purpose, and how they relatively stand out compared to the stupid pigeons in GTA plus there doesn't seem as many as the flags in Assassin's Creed.

The story, even in these early stages is starting to hook me with the dead drops providing a nice alternative to games like Fallout 3 where the subplots can come in walls of text. I'm happy with the abilities I have now so I can't wait for more and upgraded powers, and starting on hard I feel the balance of difficulty is just right - only knock being it can be confusing where I'm getting shot from.

All in all, so much fun to play and glad I listened to the reviews and impressions.

Being able to scan for the shards when you're near them is a stroke of genius. If I see a collectible count that's 100+ usually I'd just go "fuuuuuck that", but when it comes to the Blast Shards, thanks to the scanning feature, I'm far more likely to detour during a mission or as I'm running through the city to grab some that appear in the corner of my radar.

It's like when I'm playing Fallout 3 and a marker on the compass appears that I haven't visited yet, I just have to go over there and find out what's hidden.

The same logic applies to the Dead Drops.

There are a lot of really small little smart things in this game that just make it a joy to play.

Saiyu said:
I must have missed that about the blast shards, do you press L3 like scanning for power sources and enemies?
yep, they show up as blue circles momentarily on your map, like the power sources' lightning bolt marks.

The Ending :O

So awesome!

I couldn't be arsed waiting to get all the shards and stunts to finish it. :lol

Fuck the stunts seriously, I'm gonna have to do that on the next playthrough and do them as quickly as possible. Shards I have 18 left so I'll do that now.

Can't wait for the this game to turn into a franchise! :D

YES!!

Exactly this
I went to the 4th balloon and the drone shot a rocket at me, it exploded on the building near me and froze up the PS3 completely. :(

Same happened to me, hah.

Uh....

Alright, I'm doing one of the last missions in the game where I need to
destroy the 3 anti-aircraft guns and the game won't let me unleash lightning storm on the roof where the 3rd gun is. I can do it on any building surrounding it, but when it reaches the building with the gun, it will just stop short.
This happen to anyone else? Wtf...

Happened to me as well, exactly the same. Didn't matter how close or how far I was to the damn thing. If I was far away enough, Lightning Storm fizzled. If I was too close, it would never fire.

Just wait around until John gets shot down. You'll respawn nearby and it should work then. Mission continues onwards without consequence.

I had the exact same problem.

I have 316 shards and about 15 stunts done, if i start again to do an evil run do they carry through or do i have to start all over again?

mrbagdt said:
Which one?

"Have a nice fall" which is weird because I'm sure I've done that a few times. I guess not with one blast or something. I've finished the game so there's not many enemies, I think I've found a good place near Zeke's apartment but they're not very high up so I'm struggling to get it. I'll give it a few goes after dinner.

Shame there's no new game+ so things like these and the blast shards can't carry over. Would be a lot more fun that way.

Felix Lighter said:
Unfortunately, yes.

Shit, going to go for all shards before i start again and then try the stunts on the next playthrough.

Oh, and I just
obtained the ray sphere
on my evil playthrough. Man, am I glad they didn't try to find another excuse to keep the story lines between good/evil Cole identical.
Does anybody know what exactly changes about your powers besides getting a bunch more energy cores and your electricity getting an new badass look?

FFObsessed said:
YES I DID IT YES!!

I AM INFAMOUS!!!!1!11!

Now about those blast shards...:p

Have a nice fall is so much easier in the beginning of the game, glad to hear you got it.

I'm down to TWO shards. I'm resorting to looking one by one using a map w/all the shards on it.

Felix Lighter said:

Its stuff like that which irks me about this game.

I've thought about some powers that should be in the sequel.

Teleportation - works like zero-shift from zone of the enders 2

Ground shake, a more powerful version of shockwave

Boost - a variation of static thrusters but this power boosts Cole up in the air.

Magnetism - Cole can warp the magnetic field around metal objects like trash cans and cars and use them as projectiles.

Electric Clone - Cole can produce electric clones of himself to confuse enemies and an upgrade to this power is that the clones can attack enemies.

Electric Shield - a bigger shield than in the first game and an upgrade of it would cover Cole's entire body.

Speed - Cole can run faster

That's all I can come up with for now.
