inFAMOUS - The oFFicial Thread

This game is fucking addicting. Gameplay perfected. Naughty Dog, please take some notes for Uncharted 2.

What exactly was Zekes mistake in the prison mission? He couldn't have saved all the guys there by himself, so why was cole so upset?

End Boss fight spoilers

Who is it that Kessler mentions is Trish dad?
I can never hear it over the constant explosions of the battle.

Sure you're not thinking of him talking about your dad? He says your dad felt Trish was the daughter he never had from what I recall

How do you go evil on the Train Mission? (the one from the demo)

Whenever I wanted to make sure I got evil karma from a mission I'd go out of my way to kill a whole bunch of pedestrians, it worked throughout the game so *shrug*.

I'm going through the game first time as a good guy, but I did that bridge mission that rejoins neon district to the...is it Warren? district? and it completed that as a Evil mission.

What the fuck? That was a story based one too.

I mean, I've got the trophy for full positive karma, but I still found that strange.

That could be it, from what I could hear it was along the lines of
The old man couldn't wait for you to propose to her, carried around a picture in his wallet all the time
. Stupid explosions made me miss that conversation twice >_<.

Yeah, your dad, not Trish's.

Something weird happened for about 5 minuets when I push the analog stick right Cole moves left when I push left he moves right, was really hard in the middle of an epic battle :lol

Zeke was supposed to be guarding Alden, but he abandoned his post to go gunfighting outside with Cole. Alden used that opportunity to unbind himself and get free. Literally tearing through all the cops from behind before they knew what was happening.

Essentially the scene was:

Alden in chains-> Jail Cell -> Zeke -> Cops ->door to courtyard -> Cole -> Dust Men army.

Same happened to me. Didn't have a clue why. It stopped after about the same amount of time although I wasn't in a battle :lol

That happened to me a few times, I thought my DS3 was about to break :lol Only lasted a few seconds with me tho and only when I was climbing.

That's happened to me twice. I think both times I was grappling an edge. Jumping a few times fixed it. Odd bug.

The game seems to do this when you bypass a wall (invisible or not) that you aren't supposed to be beyond. I have accidentally clipped into buildings partially and the game controls reverse and cole walks back into the correct area.

Very early game spoiler:
The bridge you attempt to escape on can be accessed later by jumping over the fence a certain way, while on the bridge your controls reverse.

Though of course its not supposed to happen in a battle like it happened to you. :lol It dosen't reverse jump direction though so a few jumps should change it back I would think.

Happened to me a few times, along with falling through the roof of the prison into oblivion in the middle of a mission. Here's to the generous checkpoints!

I'm very late to this party, but just finished the game about 10 minutes ago (after many hours over 2 weeks - lost a week at E3). Awesome, awesome game. A must play for any PS3 owner in my opinion. It was fun and polished from start to finish. One of the most enjoyable games I've played this generation and probably deserved more attention from the press etc.

I'm assuming I can go back to Neon? I just got in Warren but I've only cleared like 60% of the city.

If not I want to do 100% before I proceed

Ugh, screwed up the mission "Vengeance" and let the last substation start before I died. Dammit, now I've got to horde XP like a mofo in order to get the 12000XP lightning upgrade and one other that's 4600XP. :lol

I'm having trouble also doing one of the stunts, "Melee an airborne enemy" or something like that. I try to corner enemies against a building and use shockwave, but no luck yet, any better strategies for this one? I think the stunts is going to be the hardest trophy for me to get.

You can usually catch those
crab like robots in Warren
mid-lunge. That should count.

Yeah don't worry, you'll be able to travel back fairly soon.

I have to say that my second runthrough as evil Cole is slightly disappointing, power wise. They don't feel quite as fleshed out (increasing clusterbombs through XP/Karma Rank is just lame).

Still, this is one of the best games of the year so far. So much awesome.

10 shards, 1 fucking stunt left. Oh and I still need like 4000 xp to get the last upgrade too. The more I play the less happy I am about finishing the game while completing all quests and then almost completing all the collecting and still being soooooo far from having hte XP needed to upgrade everything.

But damn the last stunt is killing me. It's the Thunder Drop a conduit one, which shouldn't be too bad except I can't find ANY DAMN CONDUITS ANYWHERE. Well maybe I'd find the Reaper dudes in the Neon but with their teleporting shit I can't imagine dropping on one. I spent probably 2 hours cruising the slums and historic area finding the occasional shard and grinding XP and found exactly one of the conduits. I hurt him a bit then was climbing a pole to try to drop on him (because of course he was nowhere near any high buildings, just rubble and a few telephone poles) when the giant-ass crowd shot/stoned him to submission. So damn pissed. The crowd helping me has ruined so many stunt attempts now it's ridiculous. :lol The only other conduits I find are the giant golems, and shit they are tough to drop on. The only one of those I find of course is also by the docks/shipping yard and so I have to work like a mofo to get him close enough to try it on. Twice I jumped off something and started the thunder drop only to land ON HIM which not only does nothing it got me killed both times.

Arrrgh.

Don't worry, you can finish the entire story without blocking access to any area or side quest/shard/dead drop etc.

The Warren conduits are the easiest for that stunt. The guys who spawn those junk crab things. There's certain areas where they always appear. I just softened him up a bit, and then kept thunderdropping him from ground level. Jump then square., Jump then square. Over and over until he died.

I did every quest and I had JUST enough XP to upgrade my last power to max from the XP I gained from the very final mission (which is just the normal 500XP)... I literally had like 300XP left over when I bought my final upgrade and I never grinded, at least not intentionally, once. I didn't even spend time going shard searching.

I did stunts all the time though, I didn't just try to complete the stunt list and stop, I was constantly trying to perform them. The number of times I got +15XP for head shocking a flying enemy or the three-in-a-row melee kills probably amounted to thousands of XP over time. I also always Lightning'd the flying drones (the ones that shoot grenades) you get a nice stunt XP bonus from that, especially if you kill 3 of them at once along with a couple of other enemies for the 5-in-1 (tossing a grenade in to get the Insult to Injury bonus doesn't hurt either).

His squeaky shoes are driving me nuts! :lol
Just started, three missions in. Fun platforming, a bit buggy but damn those squeaky shoes! * squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak squeak *

How does saving work in this game? Does it only save at end of missions/start of missions?

The muddiness does lessen the impact of reaching high places quite a bit. It keeps the focus on Cole, which works for the most part, but there are times when you feel like you should be rewarded with a grand view of the city, and all you get is an assortment of blurry silhouettes. Not so cool.

The only thing I wish this game had would be a type of dash power so you can close ground with enemies and want to look more badass using either melee or the gigawatt blades. Just imagine like the Devil May Cry dash but with crazy ass lightning coming from Cole and the more upgrades the fucking crazier it would look! :D

Yeah, that WOW feeling that Crackdown gives you after you scale a particularly challenging height is not there in this game thanks to its textures. And the radius after which textures lose their sharpness is also pretty small, imo.

One thing I do like about the city that I honestly thought I wouldn't is the gray, dusty palette. By itself its drab and depressing, but it really works to highlight the electrical powers, and give your abilities a more supercharged appearance and feel. The "dead zones" also feel doubly so thanks to the muted palette.

That would be nice. On Hard the enemies run away from you so much that sometimes you can't even catch up while they blast you from afar...Melee was ano show for me because of this.

Does this game mark where the shards are? I see them as a legend on the map, but they aren't marked on the map...

When you do your echo thing to search for power sources and dead drops, there should be blue circles on the radar if there are any shards around.

Unquenchable Thirst - Be like Tony Hawk and transfer to 4 different grinds without touching anything else.

Having trouble getting this D;

Ooo, does this mean you can grind those cables between buildings? So cool! This running across is fun but grinding them skating style would be awesome!

@AltogetherAndrews -- THANK YOU! Now if I could turn off the squeaking noise somehow...

Use static thrusters while transferring to the rails on the other side.

You'll get the grind ability after the second sewer mission. Once you get the thrusters, getting around is a breeze.

On a separate note, "grind and thrust."
