Fox has released details of the first episode of the fourth season of 24, which will premiere in back-to-back episodes Monday, January 3 from 8 to 10 PM EST. The following week the show will take over its normal timeslot at 9 PM EST. Fox will air all 24 episodes in a row, with no breaks and no repeats between new episodes.

Season four begins 18 months after the third season, with the episode "Day 4: 7:00 am - 8:00 am." CTU is now headed by Erin Driscoll (Alberta Watson, LA FEMME NIKITA), a steely government agent who made firing Jack one of her first priorities upon taking over.

After the explosion of a commuter train, Jack, who is now working for Secretary of Defense James Heller (William Devane, KNOTS LANDING) and also is romantically involved with his married daughter, Audrey (Kim Raver, THIRD WATCH), suddenly finds himself heading back to CTU for a meeting with Driscoll on Heller's behalf.

Also featured will be Nestor Serrano (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW) as Middle Eastern businessman Navi Araz, Oscar-nominated actress Shohreh Aghdashloo (THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) as his wife, Dina, and Jonathan Ahdout (THE HOUSE OF SAND AND FOG) as their son, Behrooz.

Chili Con Carnage!
i hope the first couple of episodes have some good hooks, no Elisha Cuthbert leaves me with very few reasons left to watch 24.

I'm the opposite. The crazy/unlikely things that happen to Kim exactly when there is a terrorist attack piss me off greatly.

are you kidding? her character was lame and stupid, always getting into trouble and slowing the story to a crawl.
she is hot, yes, very hot in fact. but her character wasnt enjoyable at all.

I can't wait... and am glad Kim will be less involved. I can view eyecandy any time -- she's a detriment to the show and needs to go.

Aisha Tyler will also be in season 4:

Aisha Tyler, best known as a comedian, will branch out into more serious roles on two Emmy-nominated dramas this season.

Tyler, who did an impressive guest turn on FX's "Nip/Tuck" earlier this summer, has signed on for guest-starring arcs on CBS' "CSI" and FOX's "24." She'll appear in at least three episodes of each show, with an option for more.

"Both '24' and 'CSI' are great shows, and I'm a huge fan of both," she tells The Hollywood Reporter. "It was an opportunity to do something very, very different because not only are they dramas, but the characters are very different from any characters I've played in the past."
On "CSI," Tyler will play a scientist who joins up with Gil Grissom's (William Petersen) forensic team. It's not her first foray into the "CSI" world; she had a guest role on "CSI: Miami" during that show's first season, playing a prosecutor.

When "24" returns early next year, Tyler will be featured as a data analyst at the Counter Terrorism Unit.

Tyler hosted E!'s "Talk Soup" in its final seasons and for a time was the host of the dating show "The 5th Wheel." She had an extended guest arc on "Friends" in 2003 and this spring starred in a CBS pilot produced by "Friend" Lisa Kudrow.
