That's more DC's fault than NetherRealm's. For every prominent non-white DC character there are twenty white ones. We're probably (hopefully) going to get Static and Black Manta as DLC, though.
 
As much as I want Black Manta, I would totally take Kaldur over him.

Spawn is black, and Sub Zero is half asian lol.

Three and a half if we count Bane and Damien, but since The Dark Knight Rises, I'm not sure DC even considers Bane of Latin descent anymore. Sure as hell doesn't look it in the current Batman series.

There's also the slight possibility that they go with Jason Rusch as Firestorm.

Isn't Bane British? He's the son of Sir Edmund Dorrance. He grew up in a Santa Prisca prison, but that doesn't make him a Latino.

Looking it up, looks like he might be mixed? So it rounds back down to three, lol. I'll still consider him full on Hispanic though. Thinking so hasn't done me any harm so far.

Black Adam - Egyptian
Robin - His mom is Middle-Eastern
Bane - ???

Ya it's pretty bad... This is as far as I could stretch it. Least we're getting John Stewart as a skin though right?
 
With Dr. Fate in the game i realized they can easily put Zatanna in the game.

Just give Fate gear that gives him black long hair haha

Jaime Reyes is Latino, so there's that. Same for Bane going off of his Injustice 1 Spanish accent.
 
Based on the leak, here are possibilities for diversity:

Bane: most people claim that Bane is born of an English father and Spanish mother.
Firestorm: Jason Rusch version is African American (if it's a skin)
Cyborg: African American
Green Lantern (John Stewart skin): African American
Flash: I believe there's a Wally West version that's African American (if it's a skin)
Blue Beetle: Hispanic
Robin: mom is middle-Eastern
Black Adam: Egyptian? The Rock has Samoan and black Nova Scotian heritage (if it's a skin)
Deadshot: African American (assuming Suicide Squad skin)
Vixen: black (rumoured DLC)

(7 female characters + some alt skins)

Definitely seems like a step down from MKX, which seemed way stronger in terms of diversity, though, as many are just skins and not full blown characters.

Mr. Freeze: Northern European is still considered white lol.
Black Adam: His default is Egyptian I believe, so he works.
Blackfire: she's not African anything.

This makes Red Hood seem even more superfluous. Hopefully we're not getting him as DLC.
 
I still want Red Hood in the game, even if he's DLC. I understand that because of Deadshot Red Hood could be redundant, but I hope that if NRS include him that they can do something to make him unique. He's the only character I really want tbh.

Most of my promoting of Red Hood is just ironic sarcasm because of just how weird the twitter and facebook fans are about him.

He is a character I want, but now that we have lame ass Deadshot and Damien, less so.

In a perfect world Red Hood and Deathstroke would have been in the base game.

That said, I 100% believe Red Hood will be this games Tremor.
 
I've never been a fan of the concept of a story mode in fighting games, just feels so pointless considering the story in close to every fighting game becomes garbage as more games are released. It's mainly the characters and their interactions that's the interesting part.

But alternate paths for a story are a damn good way to make the story mode more engaging and replayable. I'm curious to see if that's the case and if it is, how well they pull it off.
 
RE: The diversity question, I wish we had gotten someone like Lady Shiva instead of Cheetah or Poison Ivy. I realize we have Cheetah as a WW villain replacement for Ares, and I don't necessarily hate her inclusion either.

Lady Shiva is one of my top 5 DC characters, she just isn't known enough for this.
 
People will believe anything if you say you're a leaker on the internet. Some guy on reddit is pretending to work at Netherrealm no proof just saying and people are eating it up.
 
A lot of people from press and other media visited NRS recently and are posting a little from their experience the last couple days.

I expect we getting soon more info in the next one or two weeks about gear, modes and story mode.

They did say they were gonna start getting heavy into streaming around this time so more watchtowers is expected.
