If you want to highlught a company that had a greater impact on controller history, write about Atari. They introduced a whole buch of stuff to gaming, including paddle controllers, joysticks, and trakballs.

Thanks, actually doing a paper on the rise and fall of Nintendo from a business perspective. This is just one small part of it.

In all these other posts, I missed this link. Very cool! Also I learned that something I thought was true was not-- that Sony had innovated the handles on controllers. The NES MAX did it first (Sony popularized, though).

Presumably you have a copy of David Sheff's Game Over, but is you haven't already track down a copy of Scott Cohen's Zap! The Rise and Fall of Atari. Much of the book is redundant if you've already read Steven Kent's The First Quarter/The Ultimate History of Video Games, but it's still makes for an interesting comparison.
