Interesting that SEGA had put up a Virtual-On Anniversary page

It is the 10th anniversary. Banpresto included Virtual ON robots in Robot Taisen Alpha 3 and there are now "Oratorio" and "Force" arcade tournaments by Sega all over Japan. I dont know if they are planning to do anything more this year.

I'd love to see a verion of VOOT on modern consoles, dual analog sticks would be great for it. The dreamcast verion always felt off with the single stick controller.

To be exact, SRW@3 got Temjin 747J, Apharmd the Hatter, and RVR-14 gen 2 Fei Yin the Knight... although that last one seems to be a cover story.

yup :)

how funny that someone mentioned this a few days ago (dreaming of a new voot). i hope to god it comes. sega has sooo many awesome games they have just sat on for several years now.

Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram is the greatest thing to come out of Sega.

I'm praying Hitmaker learns from Marz (which doesn't exist), if they decide on a new release.

I'd even be excited about a port of the original to a recent console. There sure as hell isn't a good one yet.

The problem wasn't Marz per se as it was nothing but an extension of Force. The problem itself was with Force.

Marz didn't even have a decent multiplayer mode, from what I've heard.

I've been avoiding Marz for a while, though I've considered picking it up lately out of curiousity. Everything I've heard about the game is that it's a decent extension of Force, but there's zero reason to play multiplayer, which might as well make it worthless. What really gets to me is that there's unused code on the Marz disc for iLink system link play.

Force actually sounds pretty good to me. Mechanics somewhere in-between VOOM and VOOT only with four players to deal with. Again, I haven't played it, but I can't imagine it being garbage. Worse than VOOT, though? Probably.
