Hey guys, I'[ve been looking into this for the last 20 minutes and i just found something interesting.

From the mac os (particularly safari), when you go to google.com it sends you to sogosearch.com

I've got a feeling some hacker cleverly hijacked the DNS listing by hacking a registrar rather than google themselves. Google is clearly aware of the problem, because their IP address keeps changing every three seconds. It won't do anything, though, until they can get ahold of whatever ISPs DNS logs got hacked.

That's me just sputtering mumbo jumbo I don't have a great grasp on.

Google search and local works for me, but everything else has problems or is down. I mean... Google never goes down.. it's what I use to see if it's my connection is going bad when some pages are not loading. Nooo!

It's definitely that someone was able to jack the DNS listing for a certain amount of time for the major ISPs that do insta-updates (like Comcast) with backbones to the DNS servers and whatnot that got tricked.

For example, my school's ISP that updates every other day still has google working fine, but my comcast connection STILL doesn't work, even though you're saying yours has been fixed--it must be that ISPs are fixing the mistakes now.

:lol

I was about to google "google crash".

Then I rememberd google is down.

edit: I think the inevitable MS vs Google war has started. Or maybe google ran into a "C:\ is low on disk space" .

It's like when you hurt your thumb. You never realize how much you use the damn thing until you can't use it.

Oh yeah, they're giving out 2GB of storage for free to every Gmail user, the stocks are through the roof, the kids who invented it are billionaires, and they're running low on disk space. Sure, right. :lol

DNS Cache Poisoning. No cracking required. Dunno if that's what happened, but yeah.

I noticed Google was down earlier and was scared. Google being up is usually my 'Everything is Ok' alarm.
