Joy, I get the damn error also. Just what I wanted to do, spend the day updating my phone. Itunes is such garbage... this is the last pain they make me endure.

Let it haunt your dreams

Getting the same error 3200 that many are experiencing.

Switzerland here, took an hour to download the update. Is this a problem with the file or something else?

Connect to itunes, check wireless sync option, then sync at least once while still connected. You should now be able to disconnect and sync wirelessly when connected to power source.

By that you mean enable Home sharing? I did that and unchecked the "stop auto sync" option as well and then synced manually.

The sync button is still greyed out.

Meh, ya kids should have just got the GM last week. I'm pretty sure the same thing happened last year with ios4 as well.

Or just wait a few hrs before you try again later.

So iMessage only works between two devices with iOS5?

only the 'free uses data' part of it. if the other guy doesnt have imessage, it defaults back to texts.

note: this wont work on an itouch or an ipad, as you dont have a texting plan.

no. i itunes, click your phone. across the top are a bunch of tabs. far left one is 'summary' tab. at the bottom of this tab are some check boxes, which includes the 'wifi sync' check box.

It works between any iOS devices running iOS 5, no particular limit of how many can be included in 1 message, it supports group conversations.

Is there somewhere that explains this new Apple ID nonsense for iCloud? Will I be able to link my old AppleID account (with all of my music, apps, etc.) to this new email address-based Apple ID? Very confusing.

Plus, it looks like Apple's servers are getting slammed and thus I am not able to create a new email address ID... Grrrrr....

How does it know if it's an iMessage (like do i have to choose it? or is there a handshake process?)
it pings apple and asks 'is this number/email address registered with imessage? yes/no' automatically for you

If the person you're sending the message to is using iOS5, the bubble will be blue, if they don't it will be green-if it's green, it's going to be an SMS.

Does anyone have an MD5 for iPhone2,1_5.0_9A334_restore? Want to make sure the one I'm dling is legit, apples servers aren't responding for me.

There is a jailbreak already for iOS5?

Also I love the new notification system, but if they add the option to reply to a text when you receive one, it will be perfect.

3200 error here as well. I've tried every USB port on my machine with no luck.

Think I'll wait for a fix to show up before trying again.

Some people are reporting if you download the IPSW, that might make it skip the start of it.

I let it sit for about 20 minutes and now I am starting again, and its updating.. finally.

This is really how I didn't want to spend my afternoon, I have 3 tests I need to be studying for instead I am starting to want to throw my phone across the room.

Apple’s iOS 5 upgrade servers are slammed, causing 3200 or “internal error” update issues

The issues seem to center around the point at which iTunes contacts Apple’s servers to verify and activate the update process. The issues are likely due to the fact that Apple’s servers are slammed and are only handling ‘half’ of the requests. This information comes via Jay Freeman, AKA Saurik, an iPhone jailbreaker and the creator of the Cydia app store for jailbroken iPhones.

To anyone getting “An internal error occurred.” (3200) while installing iOS 5.0, Apple’s servers are swamped, and failing half the requests.

A 3200, or “internal error”, message is being given to those attempting to update their devices and many are reporting success after trying the update process 5 or even 10 times.

This just came across twitter.

Got 10.7.2 and then iPhoto update. No problems at all. However, I don't know if it has fixed any or my Lion jankiness. I'll give it a try tonight.

Simple enough for me. Thanks!
