Yeah but people use it when speaking as well which makes it more annoying.
Is Photo Stream turned on in the iCloud Control Panel? That folder doesn't sync with your phone, it syncs with Photo Stream.I recently reformated my PC. Before my photos from my 4s would automatically sync to a folder in my pictures. This is not the case anymore. I have the newest iTunes and synced my phone to it. I haven iCloud turned on but it still doesn't do it. It was all automatic before. What did I do wrong?

No I mean on your PC. You'll have to download the iCloud Control Panel so that Photo Stream photos will get synced to that folder.Yes photostream is turn on in the iphone.
When someone says it to my face, I always go for the passive agressive "What is an iTouch?".
Explain.
I signed up for itunes match, and then had it replace all of my existing files with their version to ensure better encoding/bitrate etc etc.
Their backup of my Kanye West record is the edited/censored , as is the Big Boi record.![]()
Where is a good site to upload pictures on? Imgur doesn't support iOS.

One of my pet peeves is people calling the ipod touch an "itouch".
Yes, I hate that.
On a side note, I got rid of Safari last night and upgraded to AtomicWeb. The constant crashing with that browser (Safari) is so frustrating. iOS5 has really screwed up my iPad (1st Gen). It's not as smooth and responsive as it use to be.
You can use gmail as an imap or exchange account. I prefer exchange since it's push and syncs your contacts and calendar as well.Guys, I'm doing a little organizing for the new year and I'm trying to address something I've ignored for a while. Basically I have a gmail account that I'd like to sync between:
Gmail
Outlook on my W7 machine
iPhone 4
Kindle Fire
so that I can manage my mail directly not matter what device I'm on (i.e, deleting/reading syncs across all devices). I am of course familiar with all the options in Outlook to leave/remove mail from the server, but my gmail account is currently just thrown in there on a POP account so as I understand it I'll have to move to IMAP to get the functionality working correctly.
I also will be adding my company's Exchange account, so I'm hoping to sync all my contacts universally as well.
What's the best way to go about this?
iNano, iShuffle, iTune, iMatch.I call it an iTouch when speaking. iPod Touch is a little unwieldy. People know what I mean. Pedants be pedantin'.
iNano, iShuffle, iTune, iMatch.
Why not just shorten it to Touch instead? iTouch is bizarre. We shorten it to GAF, not NGAF.
You need to know that they're using the snazziest version.Personally I think its weird people don't just call it an iPod.

Wait. You don't call it iGAF?
Hi guys
I was wondering if there has been any discussion within the iOS community about a redesign of the UI or 'home' screens
Finally got around to upgrading to ios 5. Immediately despised the newsstand app. And apparently I can't get rid of this or even put it in a folder. And I can't make it useful by putting other news apps in there. BBC News and NPR news can't go in there? really? Or the USA Today app, a GOD DAMN NEWSPAPER. What the hell, Apple. Shit like that is the kind of thing that would make me switch to Android.
Anyway, does anybody have a suggestion for an app that'll let me read articles from sites that don't have mobile versions. That'll strip out all the extra crap and just let me read the article with a decent font size. Specifically something that'll work with the NY Times.
Yes, the website and control panel have the exact same contacts that are on his phone now, and he's never bothered with backups/restoring/editing contacts so I don't know how he could have caused them to disappear by user error. This has been the worst experience with an Apple product we've ever had.

They would never do it. iTouch is too broad a term, and doesn't signify it being a mobile device in the same way 'iPod' does. It may happen eventually, but I doubt it.If I were Apple, I would just rebrand the iPod Touch as the iTouch. It's something that people yearn to call it, for whatever reason. I don't think it's a meme... everyone seems to have come up with the title on their own
It's like how, for decades, people on their own called the drink "Coke" which made Coca-cola furious. They combated it for years and years. Eventually they gave in, trademarked the name, and now "Diet Coke" is the official name.
For Itunes Match, does the playback work similarly to the Spotify app, just streaming it from Apples servers, or does it download the media to the device and leave it there permanently?
So about iTunes Match... when I try to activate it on my phone, it says it'll replace all the songs on it. Does that mean that even if I have a song on here now, I'll have to stream it from iCloud? Or will it actually leave those songs on my phone and just, like, treat them like a local version, so I don't have to wait for the song to load?
Also, it probably goes without saying but... if I go to another country, I can't listen to my music unless I'm on WiFi, right? Unless I want to pay insane data charges...
It does not delete the music that is already on there, I'm not sure why that warning is there. So about iTunes Match... when I try to activate it on my phone, it says it'll replace all the songs on it. it will keep the music that has already been loaded the old way via iTunes. it does not delete the local files.
what it means by replacing is that it will show ALL artists, albums and playlists and will show cloud icons on the stuff that is not already present on the device.
you can then download the albums you want manually for listening later while offline.
I think playlists are replaced, I don't quite remember though. I would back them up just in case. Unless someone knows for sureThanks, guys. Do you happen to know if it also deletes/replaces the playlists on my phone? Or should I export those out first or something?
Indeed.Finished to upload my song collection via iTunes Match last week, what a great service. really like it.
If you're talking about your apple id in the file info, then that's not drm. Easily removable metadata…though I'm not sure why you'd need to.Indeed.
Only around 6 or so songs that haven't matched while they're on iTunes. Sucks that it's not 100% drm free though. Still associated with your iTunes accounts. For that reason I'm keeping my original files.
