Hello guys.
I restored my iPhone yesterday using iCloud for the first time.
Thing is, I had to go out for the night and left my house and the ambiant wifi before it was done restoring the camera roll. I thought it'd be ok and would resume as soon as I came back, but it didn't...
Now I'm missing about 400 photos, the most recent ones.
Is there any way to resume the process or do I have to restore the thing again?

Did you take any new photos since you went out? If so, it may have confused it and made it stop.
In any case, it sounds like the best thing to do is to restore again and this time let it complete, unfortunately.

It means all the apps on your phone that's not on the computer you're switching from WILL BE DELETED from your phone. You're probably seeing screwed up order of apps because the home screen preview will show you what happens after it deletes apps on the phone that's not on that computer.
I believe the safe way is plug in your iPhone to the new computer, than in iTunes, right-click the phone on the side bar and choose "Transfer purchases" - this will copy all the apps currently on the phone that's not yet on that computer. (This should be obviously, but also make sure to authorise iTunes on that computer with the account you used to purchase the apps.)
After that completes, do a backup in iTunes and/or iCloud just to be safe, and then you should be able to sync apps with this new computer without it deleting anything or screwing up the app order.

I wanted to get a bunch of new albums onto it. As downloading via iCloud would take too long, I intended to just connect it to my Mac and sync the albums.
Not possible because iTunes Match is enabled. Okay, disabled it. Still not working. The iCloud tracks were still visible in the music app. Re-enabled it. Some of those tracks are gone. Disabled again and deselected all albums/artists in the music tab of the sync options in iTunes. The capacity bar below still showed about 500MB of music. Synced, and near all tracks were gone - but some were still there. Manually deleted them, disabled music syncing altogether, synced again and bla bla etc. etc.
Current status: Music syncing disabled. iTunes Match disabled. After syncing, there's no music on the phone, but it begins to download five specific albums immediately. What the hell is this shit?
edit: Managed to permanently remove all songs. I'm currently syncing everything again, no problems so far - except there's a cloud icon next to several albums. iTunes Match is still disabled and all songs of the albums are stored locally.
edit2: God, this is ridiculous. Several songs of some albums are missing. I deselected one of the albums in iTunes and synced, now all albums of this band are gone. I select one of their albums, and the audio bar below increases by 1GB, which is bullshit. Everything's out of sync here.

I have an issue, maybe you guys can help me.
Large apps on my iPad keep restarting the download. So it goes to about the install phase, and then it restarts the entire download again. It is super annoying and happens with apps 200MB and up. It happens only on my iPad and not my iPhone.

Will iOS 6 change the way you can only listen to music through match on an iphone by downloading the song? This would be so easy, just make the tap on the song name stream the song, tap the cloud to DL and play if nothing else is going...
This is pretty much my go-to answer, but have you tried restarting your iPhone?

iPad 1? If so, I can see the 256MB of RAM giving in.
Gosh, what a silly decision from Apple.
Still, reboot, clean all apps from the recently launched menu (to kill manually any running service etc). And keep trying. If everything fails, download on the computer, sync. And report to Apple.
It used to be there in iOS 6 but has been removed, seems they can do that on the fly without updating the OS so maybe it's just temporary. You can still download individual songs by starting the album download and cancelling the unwanted songs, if needed.

I find myself in need of an email address that would be used only for text conversations, and thus would push. Thing is, I already have my main gmail account set up as an exchange account, and since it has my calendar and (way) more importantly my contacts I can't see myself removing it.
I thought about Yahoo!, which as AFAIK the only mail provider which has Push without needing the Exchange slot. But after failing to push mail to my iPhone and looking the problem up on the net, it looks like Yahoo Push for iPhone is borked as of late and won't work anymore...
What options do I have?

Damn it apple. If I find the ipsw and restore, will my beta 4 backup be compatible or am I screwed? I know when I tried to go back to 5.1.1, the backups I had from the 6 beta didn't work
Should work fine. If you do go the ipsw route, you don't actually need to restore, you can Alt/Option-update it in iTunes directly.
Edit: the beta 4 backup probably won't work on 5.1.1, but there should be no need for you to restore while on that version if you downgrade (just update to 6 right away, then restore from the backup)

I hope it's okay if I bump this thread as it isn't that old yet. Basically I had my iPhone 4 on iOS 4.3.3 for the whole time but lately I have been having some issues so I thought of upgrading to iOS 5 as the whole Jailbreak situation on iOS 6 is still too fresh for my liking.
What I wanted to ask now, is iOS 5.01 still okay for a iPhone 4 in terms of bugs and such? I only have saved SHSHs for 5.01 sadly so any other iOS 5 version is out of question for me.

Asking here because it's an old question relating to Photostream... I have a load of photos (2GB worth) from my camera that for some reason are in the Photostream folder on my PC?
Any idea how they could have got there please? I think they're all duplicates but I'm scared to delete them :s
