Mysteries upon secrets upon enigmas

Hope it's worth the hype. Musgrave is like a RPG connoisseur, so I trust his judgement

same.

I just know I'll end up disappointed with that mystery RPG, because teasing like that brings up the hype in me.

sigh. same.

Awesome!

KOTOR 2? Banner Saga 2? Final Fantasy VIII? Dragon Quest VII (lol)? Can't wait to find out. :)

It isn't FF8 imo.

My guess is either Banner Saga 2 or something none of us expected.

I think it wont be banner saga 2. I hope banner saga 2 is out soon though.

KOTOR 2 would be AMAZING.
I have a flight to Europe in a few weeks and a beefy game like that would be absolutely perfect. Not that I don't have a ton of games on my iPad's backlog, but I've always wanted to play through KOTOR 2.

I never got around to beating it because I got a game stopping bug 20 hours into the PC version (even with the fan patches and stuff at the time) and it pissed me off so much that I dropped it.

Blitz Breaker is fantastic. Mobile perfection. To sink time while my dog plays with other dogs or a bathroom break. Or while flying to another planet in No Man´s Sky (in shock at how similar is to Out There in some many ways)

Yes, truly a connoisseur savoring all of those fine Kemco RPGs.

I kid I kid, I really trust his opinions on RPGs too.

Quick, someone tweet him asking if it's a RPG or JRPG!

See, because of this teasing, the only thing being worth it to me now, would be Knights of the Old Republic or Final Fantasy VIII. At least a port of a high profile classic. But I just know it won't be, and it's probably a mobile-exclusive RPG.

Good pic showing off Sorcery 4's 3D map

- King of Dragon Pass is solid if you haven't played that before.
- 80 Days if you haven't gotten around to it yet
- Icebreaker (by Nitrome) is one of my favorite puzzlers. Simple mechanics, very varied and clever applications of those mechanics.
- RYB is a good logic-focused puzzler if you like Hexcells
- The Hexcells series is on iPad as well
- Ryan North's To Be Or Not To Be is a funny work of interactive fiction. Highly recommended
- Dream Quest is an excellent roguelike/card game hybrid. A strong recommendation if you can look past the art and appreciate the gameplay, although the art does grow on you. The creator of Magic The Gathering is a big fan

Ports-wise: Door Kickers, Human Resource Machine, This War of Mine, FTL, Snakebird, and Road Not Taken are all excellent

Also if you liked the GO games, Deus Ex GO is coming out this week
I've played 80 Days, but none of the rest! Thanks, great suggestions as usual!

I wish they would port Dreamfall: The Longest Journey to iPad. I never finished that one but I loved the characters and atmosphere. I will eventually buy the original, it isn't that expensive.

Woah! I absolutely love the show. With Telltale and the creators of Oxenfree behind it, I can't imagine it could be just a cheap tie-in.

Might have to give it a shot.
Telltale can be hit or miss, but Night School developing is an instant purchase for me after Oxenfree

I'll post impressions later. Screenshots alone make it look more involved than your typical Lifeline-inspired game

Are you a fan of the show? If so, I'd also be curious on your thoughts based from that viewpoint.

Still need to watch Mr. Robot, so I'll wait on the game till then. Still, that dev + publisher combo is surprising. I loved Oxenfree and am generally into Telltale, so that's a good sign.

So at its core, Mr Robot: exfiltrati0n is essentially another game in the vein of Lifeline. Interactive fiction doled out over time, through short messages and conversation with another person

But where Lifeline failed IMO, this definitely has been succeeding so far. The writing feels authentic down to the text message typos, compared to the writing in the Lifeline games. Your own responses as well. I thought the tone and writing of the Lifeline games were always too much like "prose" rather than the kinds of messages someone would actually send

Also you get messages and updates from different contacts and services, so there's a sense of a larger scope, because you're not just talking with one guy.

There's a lot of polish here, from the opening cutscene to the UI design and the "glitches"

It isn't darkest dungeon. (hope we get a date for that soon)
;_;

I know, I know, but that's where my head's at for what would live up to the hype.

Hyping up a secret RPG, making it sound like a big deal. I think it has to be a port to warrant that, rather than some original mobile game. I just hope it isn't some FF game. I have zero love/interest for that series. Either it's a classic game or it's something recent and unexpected

Edit: Shaun said it will be around $10, which makes it likely a recent port. And probably not FF, those are usually more expensive

Transistor, The Banner Saga, Desktop Dungeons, Baldurs Gate were all $9.99

Although so was Chronos Trigger...

But I bet Banner Saga 2 is most probable

I said above it isn't FF8 though I still need that for my folder with FF 1-7,9,tactics. There's no other FF that would be ported right now. FFX soon hopefully though. Would love to have spira on my iPad.

That sounds good enough for me to bite. With the devs of Oxenfree, which had fantastic writing in dialogue form, I'm not surprised that they were able to capture a more realistic tone as far as messaging goes.

So you like the game... Now go watch Mr. Robot!

Seconded, the show's amazing!

Quite curious to see what that surprise RPG will turn out to be. Banner Saga 2 would be great as Aspyr told me a little while ago that KOTOR II for iOS wasn't in development. Could still be that one though.

Epic Flail is hard to control... dont want to know how it was pre-update but none of the 3 control methods satisfy me at all. Great concept, awful controls.

Now to Hyperburner

Also, did I say how good and funny Reigns is? xD

I'm confident it's Banner Saga 2, though I hope it is KOTOR 2. I wish it was FFVIII but I know it isn't.

Eh, I'll take Banner Saga 2.

Sigh I'm without proper wifi till next week so whatever it is I'll be in trouble.

I still think it's Banner Saga 2, which I can't wait for (first one was amazing) but if it is Darkest Dungeon....I might esplode.

My only problem with Banner Saga 2 is that I no longer have the save of the first game, so I won't be able to directly continue the story. Not to mention I also don't remember much of the story of the first game.

Yeah that's not saved in iCloud right? Might have lost mine as well.

I think it is saved in the the cloud.

I kind of wish it used a system like Sorcery where I believe you actually put in a password at the beginning of sequels so it knows how to start. But I guess Banner Saga has a lot more decisions and character deaths to do something like that.

I have BS2 on Xbox One (it was one of their Gold freebies) but since my save from the first is on iOS, it's kind of useless. You can obviously still play without the save but I'm sure the experience is much better if you carry over the save file.
