iOS Gaming August 2016 | A sever-ly hot summer

I'm not worried, it'll run fine on my iPad Pro 9.7. Now I got something to look forward to besides Lumines and Batman. We need more PC ports that aren't just indies. So I'm glad about this.

Seems like Tetris Battle Drop is out in more countries now.

[edit] Wow, I had no idea Heroes of Might and Magic 3 HD has been out for iPad for so many years. Wonder if I have missed some other PC ports for iPad.

Btw, Pako have gotten a substantial update adding an Apocalypse mode and a new camera perspective behind the car. This game is so good.

Another thing is, that Stealth Inc. is now back in the App Store.

And here I thought Total War was the other big game

As for what RPG it could be, I'm thinking Darkest Dungeon, Banner Saga 2, or KoTR 2, or if I dream big...mobile versions of Divinity: Origin Sin or Torment

I think Divinity would be next to impossible on mobile. I'm playing on console and it's pretty complex even though they did do a great job porting the controls/menus. I'm not sure I'd want to play that kind of game on mobile.

The first three are obviously good fits (with Banner Saga 2 already confirmed, right?).

Is Banner Saga 2 even any good? I never hear about it, ever since its release on Steam.

It's got an 83 average on Metacritic so I think it turned at well. I got the X1 version with Games With Gold but haven't played it yet since I played the first on iOS and saves carry over to influence BS2.

Guess August isn't for me. But September will surely be my month with Batman and Lumines.

I have to play Sorcery 1-3 before even getting Sorcery 4.

I would give my left arm for darkest dungeon on my ipad

darkest dungeon is coming to mobile?!

please tell me it's coming to iPhones as well as tablets...
As of last year

Vita version is coming next month, so I imagine the mobile version can't be far behind

Thanks. Bought Punch Club. Don't know if it'll be any good though.

I'm thinking of completing Lara Croft GO before Deus Ex GO comes out.
I'm on the fence with Punch Club. Usually it would be a no-brainer at that price. But there are too many good games coming up and I don't have unlimited money

What's coming next month besides Batman and Lumines?

Also, are there any plans to bring Shadowrun: Hong Kong to iOS?
Spiderweb's next RPG Avadon 3. Old Man's Journey from the devs of And Yet It Moves. Maybe Death Road To Canada. Probably Sorcery 4 if it doesn't come in August

I don't think we'll be seeing Hong Kong on iOS
We have elected to focus all our efforts on PC in order to deliver the best game we can without the current processing and memory limitations of tablets

Hmm, I won't be buying Shadowrun for iPad then. Got it for Android and Steam already anyway.

I hope Fantasy Life 2 comes out soon. It'll probably hit in November, who knows.

As much as I want...no...I NEED Darkest Dungeon on my iPad (and iPhone maybe) they would have it announced at least...

But ehi....next week there Gamescom so...who knows...
It will be madness, especially from European indies.

Can't wait.

Lara Croft GO is just so so so good. I have started collecting everything and unlocking costumes. It's a lot of fun. I hope I can complete it and unlock everything before Deus Ex GO comes out.

Damn... Reigns looks great! Is it like 80 Days?

Reigns is fantastic, played for one hour today, and it's super addictive.

Like 80 days, this is a sort of interactive fiction where you have to manage multiple parameters to advance and survive... but If I was to be bold and exagerate madly
(like many people on this forum)
there is a Dark Souls aspect to it : death is not the end, it's a new beginning. With every death you begin a new reign, and you will benefit from the new cards that were added to your deck when you manage to do some of the objectives, and so the choices and possibilities will expand from reign to reign. At first the reign can be very brutal and short, but when you have collected a few more cards and checked some objectives, it can be much longer and you'll gain some achievements and names depending on your playthrough.

When at the beginning you don't have much choices presented to you, soon you'll meet new characters and every decision will help you guess which of the four stats will go down or up... the management is tricky but not unfair - some of the choices are certainly random but most can be predicted. It's your responsibility to be a tyrant or not, and being overly good can sometimes cause your death.

(I bought the steam version, but this is perfect for a mobile game - great concept and execution.)

Another tidbit on Sorcery 4. I asked what the word count was compared to 80 Days. Inkle said 4 is roughly equal to 80 Days at launch (pre-updates)

80 Days was over 500,000 words. Now imagine that amount of content condensed to the singular map of a Sorcery game

O_O

Quite disappointed by Reigns. The novelty wears off super fast as the choices get repetitive.
There isn't much to do except balancing those 4 influences with choices you see over and over again (which means you know the effect exactly). Even though you know what influence your choice has, you will still fail miserably because of the way the decisions are shuffled.

I am in the 13th century and have finished nearly 3/4th of the quests, met all characters except one and died 1/2 of the way you can. My best run was reigning 65 years.

Can't recommend the game.

I am AWFUL at Reigns.

Granted, I've mostly only played it at times when I was distracted, tired, or both, but still. I have four 1 year reigns on my timeline. My longest was like 27 years. I haven't fully figured out which choice leads to what, but it's clicking. I like it, and look forward to them expanding the content!

Guys, be aware that there is much more to Reigns than rule as long as you can.

The real objective of the game, which will become apparent only after you rule over year 2000, is obtaining a good ending and solve the grand puzzles.

I won't spoil anything, but it's truly amazing (I solved some minor ones but I have yet to solve the main one).
