Yea, that's the one saving grace. But even then, each roster spot you open up costs more 'purple currency' at an increasing rate. Not to mention that you will need to keep leveling up all those 'extra' heroes.

Which means even more grinding.

I think the game will be fine as long as I just play it an hour a day. Trying to play more than that will probably cause me to burn out on it. I'll just completely ignore the multiplayer aspect to it.

I'm fine with paying $10 or $15 for a high-quality experience, so would that be enough money to enjoy this game?

I would lean to saying no. Because from what I can see, there isn't a whole lot of content here (yet), not anything really interesting with the storyline and there definitely isn't any traditional 'end game' since this is F2P.

I would keep checking in on it and maybe in a few months they could add more content.

Since you have a few heroes and levels on them, why not humor us and try the PVP and let us know how horribly skewed it is. I only played the first few levels so you have a bit more experience on your team than me, but I felt the core gameplay is there from what I saw. It was fun, just like Puzzle Quest 1. I enjoyed using the powers, switching enemies, getting free turns from matching 5 or more, and sharing the same board, and trying to remove the tiles with the countdowns.

This is interesting, but now I understand why Pocket Trains feels like it fell short of its potential.

If it's more like Tiny Tower then I might check it out... though i'd say IAP will be annoying eh?

VVV: Woah, Well Done GDJustin, was really curious about this game!

Nice. Sounds more like Tiny Tower than PP/PT, which is a good thing.

Question regarding the marvel puzzle quest: I notice that sometimes when I have 3 team members in my party I would have 3 different symbols on the gems for the heroes. But sometimes when I have 3 heroes I only have 2 different hero symbols on the gems. So I get to a point where this one hero who's symbol isn't on the gems ends up being full health while the other 2 barely scrape by or are dead. Is there a way for me to set it so all 3 symbols always show up on the gems? Thanks

How was Pocket Trains worse than Tiny Tower?

Tiny Tower consisted of nothing but a collection of timers that you sat around waiting to finish so you could see a floor of pixel art appear, or you could pay to make the pixel art appear sooner.

How can you make a game worse than that?

Bunch a train haters in here. Love the pocket trains, can't wait for tiny Death Star, looking forward to tiny star tours (how awesome would that be?)

Thanks! Next month's is even better :D

Woah :O

I'll pass on Breach and Clear for now since I have a massive backlog but I have another premium title in my collection. Nice.

8 Ball Pool is nice, but why the hell the game sent out invites to all my facebook contacts without even asking?! This is why Facebook integration is so irritating - I dont mind connecting as such, but the fact it annoys others under my name is something I can't stand.

Does anyone know about the Oceanhorn release date? I want to check it out already :(

Lili is on sale now, it's down to 99 cents. It's a nice little adventure game - though the writing is atrocious it still has really impressive graphics and a very pretty island to explore. For a euro you can't go wrong.

So I picked up war hammer quest and the two expansion region packs.

Any of the characters worth it, or are they money grab IAP? Weapons sorta seem like they are ...

Any advice?

Tiny Death Star explains why Tiny Trails feels like an half arsed effort over planes, it's a shame :(

That's what I feel, doesn't mean that's what happened.

Breach and Clear and Kid Tripp are both really great titles - especially for $Free.99. B&C is a little too simplistic but it's enjoyable, and Kid Tripp controls like a dream while also allowing for more range of motion than most other auto-runners (it's also decidedly NOT an endless runner, for those that dislike the genre).

I think the core of Trains is solid but it's missing all of the little details and polish of Planes. There's no doubt it was cranked out much faster.

I wouldn't call them money grab IAP. They play alot differently from the 4 initial characters, but they are in no way stronger or necessary to enjoy the game.

Other than the 1 blurb in the OP, does anyone have impressions of Transport Tycoon? I have a regular IPhone 5 and am trying to pick between iOS or PC versions! I can't believe I didn't play this game back in the day - it looks GREAT.

Additional characters aren't money grabs, but, especially for people unfamiliar with Games Workshop world, I'm sure they seems so.
Each character provide unique skills, loot and tactical challenges but if you are new to WHQ, personally I would stick with the initial four characters who are already balanced and the classic ones.
Grab additional ones only if you are really fond of their class/skills/idea of playing them.
Personally I tried everyone, but in my main hardcore game I use the initial four...because I just like them more (I hope someday Rodeo will provide the Bretonnian Knight character).
Feel free to ignore other iaps as you already bought the expansions.

IMHO the game shines in hardcore mode (where, additionally, the inevitable deaths will have you appreciate the random skill trees...the same character can be pretty different between one death and another).....but since the last update the pacing is fine even in adventurer mode, maybe a bit more manageable for people not familiar with the boardgame (before last expansion adventurer mode was way too easy).

Okay I will hold off the classes for now and just try learning the game! Thanks!

I am trying to put all my games into folders by type. The store used to list the genera of games ... Any way to figure it out?

I'm not sure I understood the question, but if you put one icon over another of similar genre, iOS will automagically name the resulting folder with the appropriate games genre.

The Warhammer Quest Averland expansion plus the (AT LAST!!!) new difficulty is truly awesome.
Some dungeons (mostly the random ones) pose some of the most tactical challenges I ever experienced in a game (me anyway).
When you manage to squeeze out the most from every skill you have, no matter how useless, place the heroes in the most efficient spots and above all, survive a dungeon against all odds where you were constantly ambushed by super high level monsters plus a target room FULL with a nasty army....you feel truly a hero.

The tension when in hardcore your level 7 Marauder is knocked down by a 150 HP Stone Troll and your level 8 Ironbreaker is webbed, while you have zero power and you are short of scrolls... it is unparalleled for me. (true story).

Yeah that's what I meant. I have an Action folder, RPG folder, etc. but I have a bunch of games that are folder less, and one folder titled "new games"

I don't know how it's Sunday already. I only started playing CivRev on the iPad on Friday night about ten minutes ago.

I'm tempted to buy the new units and leaders. Has anyone else bought these? I'm wondering if the new units have different stats or if they only replace the standard unit with a graphically unique version for that nation.

Wat. The skill trees are RANDOM!?

Maybe I expressed myself wrong, sorry.
Each character has a pool of skills.
Different classes have different skills pool.
You pick a new skill every level up or so (sometimes none) and the skill you get is choose randomly among the pool by the game (in the boardgame you picked up a card).
Same with spells.
With this you will have pretty different characters between builds....sometimes you'll have a healer...sometimes a more offensive spell caster...sometimes a tank...sometimes a glass cannon....and you must adapt your strategy to reflect this and use items to counterfeit lacks or enhance useful features.
Now that the game is finally challenging, this is much more evident (and awesome, I might add....if I lose my killer with regenerating capabilities Marauder, I'll cry for a week....last night it was a really close call).

EDIT: considering only hardcore has permadeath...all of the above is true just for hardcore mode (basically there is no penalty in dying for other modes). In other modes you won't ever notice this bar the case you retire a character.

My pleasure, thank you. :) if you have anything to recommend having in the OPs just let me know. I'm just the caretaker of our little community.
Pixld Bits has gone free and has a bunch of modes which would be perfect for a GAF challenge, get it everyone.
No linky makes me sad.

Huh. Neat. I guess Hardcore is the way to go then, helps you switch it up.

I've been playing 868-Hack obsessively over the last few days. I still suck at it though. Highest score so far is 42, and I've yet to beat the 8 stages.

It's a great game, but the art can be very uninviting.
