Just want to say what a great time I am having with subterfuge. We started with eight now there are five of us left and things are looking close with everyone having created one mine the end game approaches.
Just wondering who is up for the next game I set up which will be in around a week.
I need to sit down and go through the tutorial. At first blush, the game seems immensely simple, but I know that is far from the truth.
edit: I should clarify I mean at first blush of the tutorial. I've done the first few tutorial missions.
Excited to join in on a game with everyone
Played the first few levels. Think Dynamite Jack but with rewinding timelines and future sight.Hoping to here some impressions of future sense later tonight, looks interesting.
What's the story of the game like? Is it well paced or confusing?(stories with time control usually are)Played the first few levels. Think Dynamite Jack but with rewinding timelines and future sight.
Not sure how long the game is, but it has an interesting non-linear stage structure.
It's episodic too
I'd agree on that. It's not unplayable but it's not as smooth as it could be. It's line drawing for moment and hold+swipe to move along timelinesWhat's the story of the game like? Is it well paced or confusing?(stories with time control usually are)
Also somebody on touch arcade said the controls were janky, how were they to you?
Ok, I might hold off on this one a little bit more.I'd agree on that. It's not unplayable but it's not as smooth as it could be. It's line drawing for moment and hold+swipe to move along timelines
Story doesn't seem confusing. It's out of order but seems relatively straight-forward atm
Picked up Brothers. 1.8 GBs installed
I'll let you know how the controls are
1) I'm not sureCan you check if it supports MFi controllers?
Thanks
Lumino City: October 29th!
As much as I love Brothers, Lumino City is the vastly better choice for a mobile purchase. I enjoyed Lumino City so much that I stopped playing the PC version and have been waiting for the iPad version. It definitely seems like a game that will be better on touchSo while this week wasn't terrible in releases I think I might save up my money for next week. I'm hoping maybe Prison Architect will get a surprise release next week.
Yeah, lumino city looks pretty good too, I can see it getting the editors choice next week.As much as I love Brothers, Lumino City is the vastly better choice for a mobile purchase. Beggar's Ride looks impressive.

Having trouble pulling up the link, but Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is out on the App Store at $4.99.
Damn, downloaded the update for Oceanhorn not expecting changes since it was supposedly just iPhone 6 and up, iPad Mini 4 and iPad Pro. But WOW it looks fantastic even on my Mini 2. Amazing how it looked great to begin with then better with the Metal update and now it's even more detailed, more shadow effects and just an overall beauty. I don't know how they did so much and still are under 350 MB.
So is Oceanborn a recommended game around here? It looks like a lot of fun, very polished.
Definitely recommended. Is awesome. Is like the iOS Zelda. Should come preinstalled on every device kind of recommendation.
Anyone pick up any of this week's new releases? Any impressions?
Have we had a month with so many PC ports?
- Mos Speedrun 2
- Dust: An Elysian Tale
- Syberia 2
- Please, Don't Touch Anything
- Brothers
- Lumino City
- Octodad
- Sanitarium
No Mos Speedrun 2 released on Steam on 9/3 and on iOS on 9/30Didn't Mos Speedrun 2 release simultaneously with the PC version? Guess I figure if games are developed at the same time, they aren't technically ports.
So regarding Brothers, I'm surprised. It controls quite well. Two v-sticks, touch and hold to do actions
Only gripe is the graphical downgrade. If you can, definitely play it on PC or consoles because the game is absolutely gorgeous and on mobile, the experience is slightly handicapped due to the low-res textures
1) I'm not sure
2) Yay! It's begging to be played on touch
I'm playing on an iPad Mini 2 so maybe that's why. Have you played the game on other platforms?Strange but i think it looks sharp and fantastic on my Air 2.

Sanitarium and OctodadSo for next week we got;
-lumino city
-dead effect 2
-stay, mum
-darthy
-dark fear
-Templar battleforce
Did I miss any? Looks a little better than this week.
Edit: also, it's almost the end of the month, where are all of the Halloween games?
It's excellent. And the puzzles are so tactile, like almost Room level; it's the kind of game that feels meant for touch. Got the PC version over the summer but stopped because it seemed like a game best experienced on iPadWow Lumino City looks great.
Forgot about Sanitarium, never played that back on PC, is it pretty horrifying? Steam seems to love the game.Sanitarium and Octodad
Haven't played it either, but consider this: it was one of the inspirations behind the gruesome and bleak sci-fi horror game STASISForgot about Sanitarium, never played that back on PC, is it pretty horrifying? Steam seems to love the game.

I want it now.I thought I might chime in again as this seems relevant!
Im the Production Coordinator at Six Foot Kid, a small studio based in Australia. Were the developers behind Monster Dash and Band Stars.
We'll be releasing our first self published title, Forgotten Forest: Afterlife, a richly dark Match-3 puzzler set in an otherworldly forest between life and death. It'll be out next week in time for Halloween!
Ahahahaha you are in for a treat, at least up to the middle then it takes a dive, but still good.Forgot about Sanitarium, never played that back on PC, is it pretty horrifying? Steam seems to love the game.

It is quite simple but I would argue the specialists give you room for some very complex tactics.
One of the people in our game has combined a martyr who can blow up bases with a navigator who can change the course of a sub it is on. This is being chased by a pirate who was going to stop them blowing up a base but before this happened the course was changed and another base was obliterated.
There are also specialists with passive abilities that let you sit back and play a more defensive game, such as boosting your factories or shields.
What else must be said is the potential for high and low diplomacy in this ever changing world is brilliant.
^^^ Looks interesting, seems like some kind of match 3 RPG puzzler.
I want it now.
Same here Ready to a new match-3 game since I am on the verge of abandoning Hero Emblems due to its masochistic difficulty. One thing is that too easy maybe renders the game too short, but making it masochistic doesn't help, it makes it the opposite: a frustrating experience.
Sounds like my kind of match 3. I'll keep an eye out for it next week. It's great to hear you guy looking forward to it.
Regarding Forgotten Forest: Afterlifes's difficulty; as there is very little scoring and no time limit the game can be tackled at your own pace. It sits at this nice place between relaxing and challenging.

You're probably way far into Hero Emblems, but if you aren't already, you could play it on easy. It's STILL pretty hard even on easy but might help.
Unfortunately, you do have to start from scratch.
